People always make excuses for Rodgers:

* He never had home field advantage in the playoffs. Well, he got it the past 2 seasons.

* He had home field advantage in the playoffs, but there were hardly any fans in the stadium because of covid restrictions. Well, not this season.

* He had home field advantage in the playoffs, but the temperature was above freezing against Tampa Bay! Well, he got the 10 degree game last night.

* His defense always let him down. Well, the D gave up only 6 points last night!

Don't try to blame special teams for the loss. You can't blame people for performing the same way that they always perform. Special teams sucked ALL YEAR, so it should be no surprise that they sucked last night. We all knew Rodgers would need to do enough to compensate for special teams.

The shocking thing is that Rodgers, the MVP for 2 straight seasons, could only lead the team to 10 points. If you told everyone on this forum before the game that the Packers would only give up 13 points, most people would probably bet their house and life savings that the Packers would win. Only 10 points with the Great Aaron Rodgers is unthinkable. He deserves most of the blame.

Having an elite QB, regarded as one of the most talented one ever, and only scoring 10 points at home, in a short week for the opponent, in bad weather...? Sorry you can blame special teams but Rodgers had weapons all over the field and should have found ways to score at least another touchdown. This is the difference between him and Brady. Brady is clutch in these moments, I can gurantee you, with Brady on the last drive, which we kicked the field goal, he would have got away with a touchdown.

objective non homers see this too. How many 3 and outs did the Packers offense have last night?

You make that sound like the fans are running him out of town. HE was the one who said he didn`t want to be here anymore. Please stop making him sound like he`s some sort of victim here. Yes, the ST sucked tonight but so did he.
I didn't mean for my post to come across like AR was some sort of victim. He didn't play up to his regular season standards but I will say it again - if we had even an average ST unit we are still playing next week.

We certainly don't have to do anything today about our future. Would prefer teams started calling us as opposed to saying we want to trade. And right then we need (or should) to include ARod in the loop. And maybe Adams.

Bears did it with Grossman and Hester. Literally nobody else on offense or special teams. I'll take any washed up practice squad quarterback if it means a better overall team and more Super Bowls
I didn't know the Bears won a SB with Grossman and Hester.

And I`m not arguing against that statement but I do feel like some will give him a pass on anything. I`m not a big fan, and I think that is common knowledge on here. I`d sooner give my support to a player who wants to be here and give everything than a player who gives the impression HE has been let down by others. Simply put, he acts like we owe him something. He has repeatedly let us down, not the other way around.

Objective would be realizing there are ZERO QB's in the league that would have taken a game over last night in those conditions with the level of tackle play we had and the pressure the 9er's were able to generate because of it. ZERO.

Many would have thrown to wide open Lazard, Cobb, and Degura. All it would have taken is 1 completion to any of them when they were wide open and it would have been easy field goal range at a minimum. ONE completion. Nobody here thinks Rodgers needed to have a 150+ qb rating last night for the team to win.

Forcing one to adams seemed a bit desperate. He did hit a wide open Deguara, and he DROPPED IT. First down, mid field. Drop. AGAIN. week after week from that guy.

Excuses, Excuses....

No one here is saying AR needed 300+ yards and 4 touchdowns last night.

How about less 3 and outs on an objective standpoint.

So when it’s like 3rd and 12 and Gronk runs wide open and makes a catch it proves Brady is just clutch man.

But when Rodgers hits a wide open Deguara who has his every single game drop at mid field for a sure first down and field flipping play, it’s because Rodgers is a choker?

You guys are ****ing jokers

I definitely agree with you. Besides Brady not many other QB's have made it and won more than 2-3 SBs. Rodgers gave us some great games in the regular season and some fun games in the playoffs. Everyone is playing the blame game on Rodgers for last night but I didn't see a WR besides Adam's help. It's a team game, people throwing shade like they're Jaguar fans.. honestly I think they should take their GB card and cut them. Rodgers didn't have a good game but wasn't a horrible game..

Down, distance, time on clock. You still haven't provided a single play. Give me the video, give me a still. How about Cobb, where was he? what play did he miss him on? ESB? Lewis, the guy that hangs it out there every time he runs and it finally cost us last night? The blocking TE should have been targeted more? OK

objective? Our Tackles sucked and so did our special teams. It cost us. That's it.

This was indeed the last dance and its over. There's a significant rebuild coming up. Maybe it wouldn't be this way if they had gone all the way but after yet another choke job even before the NFCCG, I don't think any side has the stomach to even think of trying to run it back again.

Rodgers has played his last game as a Packer. Davante Adams. Many others. We witnessed the end of an era in the most embarrassing way possible.
Expound upon many others please. I see Rodgers, Adams and Z. Smith not coming back. I'd include Savage personally but I expect Gutekunst/Ball to try and keep the rest of the core players intact.

Anyone saying we should move on from Aaron to Love wants 30 years of no titles at all. Is it terrible we have only two rings in the favre Rodgers era? Yes. We also coulda had better than the worst ranked special teams. Maybe we coulda drafted Deebo as well. What would he have done!? All good we’d be fortunate to try to run it back… with a st coach
That's total nonsense to make a statement like that. Just complete garbage.

I know I was being sarcastic saying put up with this forever.

I’d be thinking
2022 top 10 selection (Denver)
2022 2nd rounder
2023 1st rounder
That would open discussions..

Denver would give us the firepower to combine selections and move into the top #3-5 overall this March if desired. We could also start Love for a season and hit the Defense hard. If he’s not looking good by end of next year? package two days 1 selections in 2023 to get our guy. That’s 5 seasons of Rookie contracts + a 5th year option.
I like the idea of getting one of the top couple QB’s fresh out of college this March or next if desired.

A QB on a rookie contract fixes our cap dilemma. It also allows us to sign several high end FA options verses cutting a grouping of top end talent. It also fixes a forced future similar decision inside likely 3 seasons. If not, we’re Cap strapped for at least 4-5 seasons. It’ll be nearing 2030 when we come up for air
I would open discussions for less than that.

Keep naming. Yes, I can see Crosby retiring. I'd expect Campbell, P. Smith and Lowry to be back. Bakhtiari could possibly retire as well I think.

BakhT retiring would kill us. I expect he'll have another surgery here fairly soon and hope for the best next year.

I'm astonished people are even defending Rodgers after last night.

I'm the biggest Rodgers fan there is, he is awesome to watch, but we can no longer deny that he has choked.

He hasn't been at his best when his best is needed, especially last night when the D played out of its mind.

With the exception of 2010, where @ Atlanta and SB45 were two of the best games I've ever seen by a QB, he has frankly choked ever since (to say he was carried is laughable, rewatch SB45). I can no longer defend him.

That said, I have NO IDEA what this team should do. Do you trade him and rebuild? With a D that is clearly ready to win now?

Do you run it back yet AGAIN and expect a different result?

What a gloomy, complicated crossroads this team has arrived at in the worst imaginable fashion.

The ONLY thing I know for certain is that Love is terrible and is not the answer. Either run it back once more with AR or completely blow the thing up. I'd still like to keep DA but that seems unlikely.

Man, I did not think this is the conversation we would be having this morning. I feel so bad for the guys on D, KC and Gary especially.
