Granted it was a division game, I'd like to think we are more talented than the Cardinals and should be able to do even better and get the W.
Yeah, I'm hoping the takeaway here is that the 49ers aren't as tough as some are making them out to be. It was a division game though, so those can be hard fought.Granted it was a division game, I'd like to think we are more talented than the Cardinals and should be able to do even better and get the W.
We also have a bye coming up so you could say 3 weeks. I like you thinking on the drivers seat at Lambeau, that’s going to be a huge factor. The Packers will have two weeks to prepare for the 49ers. We win that game, and we're in the driver's seat for home field coming through Lambeau.
Not to mention that, if you look at their schedule as a whole, the combined records of teams they play for the rest of the year are a collective 34-21-1. That includes Arizona and Atlanta. We also have a bye coming up so you could say 3 weeks. I like you thinking on the drivers seat at Lambeau.
The 49ers play Packers, Ravens, Saints in the three consecutive weeks starting with us after our bye. Then we will know who’s boss.
Niners started great to the halfway mark, but also other NFC teams are finding their groove now. Even the Cardinals can’t be taken for granted, they played good enough that even 1 takeaway (that fumble ruled down by contact) could’ve changed the outcome of the winner Thursday night. Arizona had all the momentum, had they forced a punt outside of 2 minutes I believe they would’ve tied it up or had a go ahead score. Packers need another weapon.. their version of George Kittle (Jace?).Seattle twice, Green Bay, Baltimore, New Orleans, and Los Angeles. That's just brutal.
Andy Dalton started a season 8-0 too. He is the only QB in NFL history to start one season 8-0, and then start the following season 0-8...Niners started great to the halfway mark, but also other NFC teams are finding their groove now.
Aside from our 49ers on the road, I will just say,
I like our schedule much better than theirs.
Garoppolo's TD/INT ratio is 13/7 this season.Garappolo's TD/INT this season is 9/7... they've played a bunch of chumps around LAR.
Yeah, I'm not saying they should be taken lightly, just that they're not an irresistible force. A lot of people are saying they're the best team in football. And maybe they are, but I thought GB could beat the team we saw last night. The takeaway should be they played a tough division game, won, and are now 8-0, should be considered tough as nails and not to be taken lightly.
Yeah, must have been reading those numbers from prior to their Thursday Night game against ARI. Garoppolo did add 4 more TDs v. the Cardinals, the #27 Pass Defense in the NFL, and the #31 Scoring Defense in the NFL. Arizona is DEAD LAST in Defensive INTs and #28 in Defensive TOs on the season, which might have helped account for his 0 INTs v. ARI. He's had 1 other game this year without an INT, v. CLE.Garoppolo's TD/INT ratio is 13/7 this season.
This page shows all the SoS for Pro Football Reference (in the standings).Of course, I did not check every team individually. Thank you for the link. I did not see a top team, division leader or one we would consider a contender on pfr with a higher SoS...
Absolutely always respect your opponent.
I’d much rather play the Niners than Saints on the road right now. 10 out of 10 times. I think GB would beat the 49ers 6 out of 10 contests in their current state, on the road.
We now have all played 8 games (top 3) The Saints at
7-1 playing .533 teams and with a backup QB is more impressive to me than going 8-0 against .333 teams.
I think the Saints are the NFC team to beat.
I have the 49rs next below Saints/GB and above MN.

Odd that the info here doesn't quite match the link that Pokerbrat provided. They both appear up to date as far as I can see.
In Pokerbrat's link, both Carolina and NO have better SoS than we do (if you consider those teams contenders - they both have winning records). But PRF rates ours above NO (but not Carolina).
me too. From the commentsGuess I learned something today about SOS.
according to the science, this is still the best and most perfect "pop" song ever written and performed
That’s a good point to remember on how SOS is a moving target. I don’t even consider it a barometer until around this time of the season and beyond.I've seen "Strength of Schedule" mentioned in quite a few posts. I have found this site to have the most updated SOS, since it literally changes after every game played.

The two undefeated teams have a low SoS so far though (49ers and Patriots). The 49ers defense is playing very well right now. I'm glad we'll have extra time to prepare for them. Too bad we have to face them on the road.
Toughens you up, I would think. If it doesn't wear you down first.
