I've been slowly but steadily moving into the camp that AR12 papers over the ***** game plans of MM. He's a good manager but has lost the knack of knowing when to be aggressive and when not to. I'm still ok with MM being our head coach, but we need to cede offensive play calling to a more dynamic OC.

Our offense has lacked dynamism and we don't make the best use of player talents at hand. Our play calling lacks any kind of innovation and not even tailored to get best of opponents weakness.

We've been relying on AR12 for some years now and this needs to change.

We need innovation on offense. Unless AR makes a miraculous throw or scramble, our offense as of now is dated and stale.

They need to catch the ball and hang on to it. 3 drives alone were killed by Cobb. that's 12 more offensive plays at least this offense didn't have because he couldn't hang on to the ball.

I agree. It's like we are still playing in the 1990's.

Last time I checked McCarthy didn't drop all those passes and fumble today. You can lead a horse to water....

I wasn’t just talking about today. Receivers and first half defense had a bad day. I am just talking in general. Last year when ARod went down was proof that MM did not have ARod’s backup ready, nor the rest of the offense. I just wonder if he has been there so long that his words are falling on deaf ears. I do not think that all of it is MM,but the buck stops with him. If ARod is checking out of called or scripted plays that MM is calling on a consistent basis then you can’t expect the rest of the team to listen to MM either.

Ridiculous, a new OC will do no good if the OL keeps committing holding penalties and WRs drop balls.

The Patriots need a new OC. Their offense has lacked dynamism and they don't make the best use of player talents at hand like Hogan and Edelman. McDaniel s' play calling lacks any kind of innovation getting figured out by that half-baked Detroit defense.

This is how ridiculous this thread is.

Packers fans advocating for the team to replace McCarthy as the team's offensive coordinator should be careful what they wish for, considering the offense's performance with Tom Clements calling the plays for most of the 2016 as a cautionary tale.

It was actually 2015 and even though it was Clements calling the plays, he was using McCarthy's playbook. Also, even when MM took the play calling back not much changed.

HEY! When you give MM a top-5 oline, the best QB ever, and a top-10 WR corps he can field a good offense! Whats, that you say, that anyone could do that with that level of talent? Well, yes, that's true....

But give him offensive talent that's only a little better than the Pats and slightly behind the Saints and he can field an offense as powerful as the Bengals!
