Alshon Jeffery's name was floated in a separate threat. Given his injury issues, he would not work as a trade target. And I would frankly be surprised if they made a move for a veteran receiver. But if they did, here are the guys who I think make some sense and would be good acquisitions.
- Curtis Samuel, CAR: Samuel's name was floated just before and during the draft as a trade candidate. He's entering a contract year. Despite having three seasons under his belt, he's still only 23. He came out of OSU as a gadget guy and has made some strides in his development but isn't a finished product.
- John Brown, BUF: Considering the Diggs trade as the investment of their 1st round pick, the Bills essentially spent a 1st, a 4th, and a 6th on wide receivers. Diggs' skill-set makes Brown somewhat redundant. They could certainly keep both, but it wouldn't be surprising if they were willing to move the 30 year old Brown.
- Dante Pettis, SF: Pettis flashed big things as a rookie, and then completely fell out of favor with Shanahan in year two. He might benefit from a change of scenery, and certainly brings a different skill set than anyone currently on the Packers' roster.
