Just bad luck. I don't know why he wouldn't be able to come back this year though. I guess you could look at it as just more time for his leg issues. But I think he would have played this week. So those problems should be behind him anyway.

Didn't Bahk have an appendicitis a number of years ago?

Good memory and I think he did. I don't think he was playing at the time - recovering fro another procedure on his knee.

Yeah Bak was out for I believe 4 weeks or 30 days with that. I read it somewhere but can’t recall to provide a link. I would guess 4-6 weeks would be a safe guess. We have 8 games, so as long as there are no serious medical complications he’d be available with around 2-4 Regular Season games remaining.
If we make the playoffs he’d be completely past all this by a mile.

I’ll just offer that listening to past interviews with both our GM and RB Coach, then recently with Stenavich.. when Marshawn is ready it’s my belief he’s our presumed #3 RB. Truthfully by this time next years it’s a coin flip he’s competing for the RB2 spot. That doesnt even factor if either RB ahead of him misses any playing time over this season or next, Marshawn would be a logical choice to elevate.
Stenavich in particular was impressed with Marshawn in what limited time he’s been here. “Explosive” is the term he used for Lloyd this week.

Marshawn is a BIG play ready to happen. He displayed that the very 1st time he touched the ball. In his very 1st NFL carry (Indianapolis at 13:25 in Qtr1 Game 2) he came from -5 in the backfield to +17. It was erased by a flag (go figure!) but his speed and cut ability is undeniable. He’s a nightmare to run down in open field. I’ll never forget what Senior Bowl President Jim Nagy said about Marshawn after that game. He said something to the effect that had the RB position not been deemphasized over the last few years? Marshawn would be in that Late Round 1 Earlier Round 2 area. Daniel Jeremiah had Marshawn as the best RB in the ‘24 Draft Class. Nagy agreed with that assessment.

This will kind of be his 86 year. Unless someone goes down I doubt the Packers suit him up on any game day. Next year he will get his opportunity.

A couple things. What I think might benefit us is technically we don’t need to change his status until either the Lions game (12/5) or the following day (I’m not sure on the exact timing there). There’s really no hurry until then and that does benefit his cause. Imo, 75% he’s back by our Saints game on Monday Night at Lambeau (12/23).
We can’t make the mistake of going through 8 regular season games and on into the playoffs and never seeing any injury in that room. Dec 23rd is more than 5+ weeks post surgery. Most accounts athletes need about 3 weeks +- 1 week. That means he’s available for the last 3-4 regular season games + playoffs.


Worst case is in 3 weeks if something is still incredibly wrong we don’t activate him and by default it becomes season ending. Sorry to the ghost of CaptainWhim!! (He despised me using “season ending IR” terminology)

I just think we have to be careful after an appendectomy. Football is a very physical game and I know people who have easy sit down jobs that take a full 6-8 weeks medical or disability leave.
