One team wins, everyone else is left with reasons, excuses, wondering why. Bring back the Spirit of Vince, even he didn’t win every game.

And I still don’t care that Seattle has had a better defense. What has that brought them other than a better defensive ranking?

First of all I hate the Seattle Seahawks for many reasons but at some point we need to look around and see what is working and what isn't. We addressed doing that on offense by bringing in LaFleur who comes from a successful tree of coaches. I expect them to get players that will flourish in his scheme.

If were gonna invest yet even more premium capital on the defense we need to go about it a different way is all I'm saying. The Seahawks have a young defense that is trending upwards "again" and we don't. If you look at the common denominator of there success on defense it's always been building or having a disruptive D-Line. I just think the Packers can take a page from this when using up all these top picks on defense so we don't have to sit here and make excuses every year.

I would love to see a few of the armchair GMs in here actually try and run a real NFL team. Just please don’t let it be the Packers.

And still the Seahawks have done nothing more than Green Bay.

In this case, I bow down to you. ;) I was actually surprised when I crunched the numbers.

Matter of fact the 2 teams have been pretty much identical, record wise since 2010:

Packers: 89-53-2 (regular season)
9-5 (playoffs)
1 SB appearance (1-0)

Seahawks: 89-54-1
9-6
2 SB Appearances (1-1)

That still doesn't change the frustration of watching the Seahawks loose top guys on defense and almost seamlessly replacing them.

I would disagree with that as well. The Seahawks defense may have been decent .... but it doesn’t hold a candle to what it was.

Not so sure I agree with you ;) I think this article sums it up pretty good. Pete Carroll and the Seahawks seem to have a pretty good formula for building defenses and 2018 was a pretty good step in rebuilding one that got hit pretty hard with losing key guys.

A trained Monkey could of done what the Packers did under Thompson his last 3 years.

2014..... A much better Packers’ offense couldn’t do anything against that Seattle Defense.... that was not true this past year even though the offense was anemic.

Weve had back to back losing seasons. Yeah these guys have been unbelievable.
Well remember last year we were 4-1 prior to Rodgers going down. Then this year it was just a failure all around, due to coaching, qb play, injuries, etc.

Now in regards to our defense, let's look at the deficit in which we've lost games and whatnot. Prior to the injuries and I'll even go a step further and say in spite of injuries we haven't gotten our tails blown off. So I definitely see some improvement regarding the defense.

My concern is that we've been trying to build a defense for years with hardly any real results, I'm starting to get to the point where if our best defense should be offense at Rodgers is getting up there and whatnot. Don't get me wrong I do know the importance of having a defense, but considering Rodgers is our best asset perhaps we are better off focusing more on offense. Idk.

Have you not read my posts? I've been saying this for quite some time. I just see these knuckleheads pouring more into the defense and if they do I want them to at least do it up front.

Yes, building an elite offense with Rodgers would be amazing and give us the best chance to win but I don't expect them to go that route. There gonna sink the ship "there way".

The Packers have some young promising talent on defense to build a competitive unit around as well. The Seahawks secondary was their ultimate strength at the time their defense finished first in points allowed for four straight seasons.

?... The injury to Collins was the bad luck.

True, but there's no reason to complain about it eight years later. The team should have been able to adequately replace him by now.

.

The Seahawks secondary was legit but during there Super Bowl year they might of had the best 8 man rotarion on the DL ever. They slowly lost some of Those guys every year to attrition due to salary cap but even in there final years of being dominant they had a better D-Line then then Packers have had in recent memory.

Were finally okay at corner after drafting them for four years but other then Kenny Clark were soft upfront.

Is it just me or does it seem like he's still indifferent in regards to Rodgers.

I picked up on a little of that from both sides, but took it more as them joking around and kind of carrying out the personas of "we don't like each other particularly much" in a comical way. Maybe I am wrong and they never buried the hatchet fully.

Who's complaining? We're trying to understand why the defense has been so poor year after year. Injuries to star players is just one of the reasons. The inability to replace franchise players is another. That's my point.

My point is that while I fully understand the 2011 team sorely missed Collins the team should have adequately replaced him by now.
