By using death rates by age of those commonly afflicted by polio it is possibly correct.
Polio is also referred to as infantile paralysis as it is typically a childhood disease. In the first half of the 20th century the death rate of those afflicted hovered between .5 and 1.5. Recall these were mostly children.
See the chart here
That compares almost equally to the Covid death rate of 1.6 of all the afflicted populace. Amongst those under retirement age the death rate of those afflicted is .5. Under age 30 - the range of most polio victims, it is around .0004. I may have missed the decimal place by one. Fewer than 5000 deaths out of 14 million confirmed cases. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1254271/us-total-number-of-covid-cases-by-age-group/

I honestly honestly honestly believe it’s Rodgers or anyone else’s right to not get vax’d. Nobody should be forced to, and nobody ever has. That doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences for that refusal. I was in the Army for 24 years. I had to get I would guess well over 100 shots. People who chose not to were shown the door. Same as is going on now. Rodgers chose to not be vax’d because he says he’s allergic to something in the Moderna and Phizer… who knows. (The WSU coach chose not to get Vax’d changed his tune multiple times, finally hung his hat in his religious beliefs as a Catholic…. Only thing is the leader of his church… Christ’s representative on earth according to his belief… said… get vax’d!!) But he lets on as if he is vaccinated and refuses to follow the rules his employer demands to continue to come to work unvaccinated putting other people at increased risk. And yes I do believe the guidance put out by the career medical and scientific professionsls at the CDC is the best medical and scientific available at that time. Certainly better than what some Comedian pumps out on a podcast based on what he’s gleaned from researching blogs. End of the day Rodgers is an idiot, but lot’s of people are idiots, that’s not really a huge deal. His idiotic behavior is having a significant negative impact on the GBP football team and that is a huge deal. Rolling out this head case behavior probably decreases his trade value too, which is a real bummer.
Again there was no MANDATE by the Packer organization to get vaccinated. Whether you feel he should have gotten the vaccine is a personal matter.
Whether he followed some guidelines prior to getting Covid and is now following protocols for the non-vaccinated is up in the air.

Thank you, I was just about to make the same point.

As I've said before, I really do believe there is room for difference in how we all look at the risks of our current pandemic, and this discussion is actually interesting when thoughtful and civil. But please, everyone, check your I fo and present sources - there are some scarily dubious claims getting made w/o citation in here.

Nothing left of this horse carcass to beat. It's a good thing there has been no Rodgers drama to distract our team from its mission this season. Time for some football, no?

WE The People ARE “the government”. Doesn’t mean there aren’t bad actors who get in there, just like there are bad cops, bad clergy members, bad scout leaders etc. As far as Rodgers vs Brady in last years NFCCG or big games in general for that matter. Brady found a way to win, Rodgers did not. When his D handed him the ball 3 times in the second half he came up short. Rodgers has great stats, Brady has rings. People said it was all Belechik…. So he goes and wins another one first time out of the gate with a new team new coach. If it’s not GB I hope he does it again THIS year
Really good post, well said!!!

I think we can all agree on this and leave it alone:

It is unbelievable that public facing people would hold a different view or take different actions on incredibly divisive and controversial issues than what I would.

What kind of world are we living in where people think, say, or do things that I wouldn’t think, say, or do and my experts of choice don’t recommend?!

There’s only one conclusion: he’s part of the bad the people.

Let’s all get a few more rants out of our systems, go talk with our echo chambers about how right we are, and have a good cry.

What medical studies do you suggest?
Oh boy. This should be fun! :coffee:

He lied shout being vaccinated it’s on video so we need not guess anymore. In doing so he has misrepresented himself and our entire team. I’m not condemning the guy to eternal hell. But I can call out a brother when he’s caught lying and what’s worse he’s attempting to cover it up real time.
Just for once fess up. Say you lied we all do it! He’s making it much much worse and I’m cringing at what the league does to our team.
He deserves to sit out several weeks. I don’t care about winning if we can’t play by the leagues rules. We must hold ourselves to the standards we hold everyone else to. Countless teams have screwed up and paid the price. It’s our turn to plead guilty as charged, take a fine or suspension and move on.

Glad Love is getting his chance because of this Rodgers blunder. It is what it is. It’s not like I’m happy we’re dealing with this. He reminds me of my extended family and I’m tired of it! ;)

Spot on!

I bet the Packers knew about this. Here even to walk into a bar, you have to show your vaccination card. So the organization just talking stuff off press statements sounds flaky. With all the other off-season drama, they probably decided to not rock the boat too much.

That bar REQUIRES you to get vaccinated the nfl doesn't have any mandates nor does the Packer's organization due to Union conflicts. It is up to each organization. Hence Patriots and the Cameron situation. So that is why Packs didn't do anything knowing he "lied" about being vaccinated while knowing he wasn't. That is why there is a "guideline" for players that are vaccinated or not.

1."please wear a mask or you will get Covid"
2."please wash hands so that those that are vaccinated don't get Covid by touching the things you touched...."
3. "etc etc etc"

Actually it’s not up in the air A) he said he didn’t follow them B) there’s video evidence

sorry was not talking about being vaccinated but if he followed guidelines about washing his hair, hands or feet so others don't get covid. Stuff like that.

Please show me a legitimate source that says these exact words or at least expresses what you are trying to convey.

I see you have no problem with him bringing up ANTI VAXXERS. LOL
Grow up kid, I'm done playing games with you. You bring nothing to a discussion, but your own self ignorance and confusion and then you sound shocked that people disagree with what you say.

"You really are having a hard time following the conversation aren't you? You are so hell bent on making this an 'anit-vaxers' VS 'pro-vaxers' discussion, that you are blinded by what is actually being talked about."

That is what you said while having no problem with the guy that just posted about ANTI VAXXERS, and you're telling others to grow up? And no i'm not making this into vaxxers vs anti-vaxxers.

Well, I was trying to have a civil dialog with you since you are the one that replied to me first, but you always seem to resort to name calling, quips, or demeaning someone's intellect when I made any rebuttals. LOL
