I really like Wayne Larivee and his DAGGER. Unfortunately, the only local radio station that broadcast the Pack no longer does. The only way I can listen to them is via the web, and it is delayed by at least one or two plays.

Wife likes it when Larivee says: "And there is your Dagger."
That dude ticked me off earlier this year, pretty sure it was the Minnesota game. Late fourth quarter, Packers ahead 26-21, Cousins throws a pick in Minnesota territory. Larivee yells: "And there is your Dagger!" I thought great, we win. Then I realized there were two minutes left in the game, and the Vikings had three timeouts left. I'm like wait a minute, this game isn't over at all. Sure enough, GB gets stopped, has to settle for a field goal, and Minnesota drives down to get a touchdown AND a two point conversion to tie the game. Which is where it ended, in a tie, 29 all. The season just went downhill from there.

I'm in Indiana, so I have to settle for a radio stream a lot of the time. Those guys, Larrivee and McCarren, often get my hopes up without cause. They'll say something like "Third down, Rodgers heaves the ball downfield.....IT'S CAUGHT!.......No, wait, it's incomplete". I swear they do this multiple times per game. Kind of drives me nuts.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Gifford, Cosell and Dandy Don....weren't they huge when Monday Night Football started?

I'm going to take the unpopular stance of I happen to like Buck and Aikman. Maybe it is because when the Packers are playing in a big game, they are FOX's #1 team, so we get them. Call it familiarity or whatever, but a game seems "bigger" when I hear those 2 calling it.

Also, I could look at Erin Andrews all day....reporting from the sidelines. :inlove:

I liked Romo when he first started broadcasting last season. He was fresh. He could digest the play from a QB standpoint, and yes, predict what the offense was going to run. He would verbally illustrate WHAT a QB was looking at and looking for as he came up to the L.O.S. and not just from an offensive standpoint but also how the defense was lining up and how the QB would attack that formation.

Now, I think that he's being "coached up" in conventional network broadcasting and is turning into just another "Gurn Blandston" type talking head..slowly but surely.

Larrivee's prattling, run-on descriptions of a one yard gain as talked about previously ... yeah ... annoying as all get out.

They were big. They were new and the MNF concept was new. I didn't enjoy them as much as others. Have to admit that I didn't find Howard Cosell entertaining nor informative. Also, given the fact that the Pack were so crappy at the time, they seldom played MNF ... well that, and Lambeau Field didn't have the necessary lighting at the time for night game broadcasting... I just didn't watch MNF much.

I do recall that prior to the Redskins v. Packers MNF game in '83, ABC had to lug in a whole mess of temporary lighting.

I forgot about Mike Tirico who I think is really good. And Kurt Warner works well with him.

Larivee has plunged the dagger too soon on several occasions. There have been a few times when he has had to say "and THERE is your dagger"
