Not defending the defense. It wasn't good.

However, just blaming them makes no sense considering the offense had more turnovers than points in the first half.

Both sides were bad.

It´s true that both sides struggled during yesterday´s game but the problem being that once the offense doesn´t perform at an elite level the team will for sure end up losing the game because the defense isn´t able to step up against above average opponents.

And how do you know he didn't try? You don't.

I don´t care if Thompson tried to upgrade the cornerback position. The NFL isn´t a place for participation awards. It´s a fact he didn´t improve the team´s biggest weakness and therefore failed as a general manager.

I wonder how many times you are going to have to say this for people understand there's a difference between knowing what he TRIED to do and knowing what he FAILED to do.

Toss in the fact we got zero pressure all game long other than maybe 3 plays. Peppers did not show up, the fact he didn't, he's done here. matthews, well, he hasn't been great for a while. he's injured, but man he's sucking up the cap space for very average to below average play. It's like it's high motor, right out of the play week after week.

We couldn't make a play anywhere to save our lives offense or defense. Cook was dropping easy passes a week after being a consistent savior. Fumbles bouncing right into our laps couldn't be recovered and dropping 2 INT's and then giving up a TD leads to losses all the time in this league. we start the 2nd half with the ball and in less than a minute and 10 seconds we're down another TD and we didn't even turn the freaking ball over. That's pathetic on all ends.

and to be paying SHields that much to sit at home hurts. But we have a lot of holes to fill. I don't care if we get veteran CB or pass rushers, but this defense needs help, big time in at least one of those areas. It doesn't mean the other can be ignored at all, but i don't think they both can get the lavish attention because we really won't have the cap space to do it. Lots of guys to re-sign or replace this year. Money will go fast.
