Mar 10, 2016 8:10 PM - 7thFloorRA: Exactly. He doesn't need to be blowing money but when you are in a HOF qb's superbowl window and you have some glaring weaknesses and 15 mil in cap space you just want to roll into the next year then it gets questionable
Mar 10, 2016 8:11 PM - Eli Haugen: i bet ted has plans to go get a ilb in the draft.
Mar 10, 2016 8:18 PM - adambr2: There's 2 problems with counting solely on the draft. (1) You're going to miss some picks, and 2) The draft doesn't always unfold the way you want. You might want an ILB with your pick but all the ones worthwhile might be off the board and you might have no ILB near the top of your board.
Mar 10, 2016 8:28 PM - adambr2: I've given up thinking that TT will ever adapt. I fully expect a glaring hole every year. I'm fully expecting him to just roll with Sam Barrington and Jake Ryan inside next year.
Mar 10, 2016 9:00 PM - 7thFloorRA: 16 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 14 games played, 1 game started. THAT IS WORTH 5 large??
Mar 10, 2016 9:00 PM - 7thFloorRA: Jayrone Elliot had virtually the same damn season.
Mar 10, 2016 9:01 PM - azrsx05: What a joke of a contract. He won't overpay for free agents. Yet he overpays for our free agents that no other team wants
Mar 10, 2016 9:02 PM - azrsx05: Giants will be a team not to mess with the upcoming years.
Mar 10, 2016 9:03 PM - 7thFloorRA: Does anyone think there was a single team in the league that would have paid Perry 5 mil for a year?
Mar 10, 2016 9:13 PM - azrsx05: Nope. Packers were probably the only team to offer him a contract this soon
Mar 11, 2016 4:50 AM - 7thFloorRA: I'm sorry but this nick perry signing is really pissing me off. There is no way he did anything to justify 5 mil other than being one of TT's draft picks. Does TT somehow think that by giving him 5 mil he shakes the first round bust label?
Mar 11, 2016 6:06 AM - Green and Gold: If playoff Nick Perry shows up this upcoming season he'll be one of the premiere pass rushers in the league by this time next year.
Mar 11, 2016 6:08 AM - 7thFloorRA: I forgot Raji is still out there. If TT isn't going to do crap as far as filling holes then he might as well go get him back. The man commands a double team...some of the time.
Mar 11, 2016 6:27 AM - azrsx05: For a team who "doesn't overspend" on free agents. We really don't have much cap space to spend money. I seriously hope TT just calls it quits after this year.
Mar 11, 2016 6:28 AM - Pokerbrat2000: quits signing free agents? :coffee:
Mar 11, 2016 6:28 AM - azrsx05: quits. As in he retires
Mar 11, 2016 6:28 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL...I figured that ;)
Mar 11, 2016 6:30 AM - azrsx05: Lol. He got lucky by Aaron being around that late in the first round. Now he's been enjoying munching off Rodgers. He's been glorified because Rodgers has been able to help keep this franchise this good
Mar 11, 2016 6:31 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Yes and No. The Defense was pretty decent last year. He just has maybe a bit too much confidence in his own players...hard not to though when you finish near the top each year.
Mar 11, 2016 6:32 AM - azrsx05: This team is lucky to go even 8-8 if Rodgers were to leave. But they would probably be more of 7-9 team without him. Maybe the talent around him just isn't as good as Ted thinks.
Mar 11, 2016 6:32 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Could he fill a hole here or there with a FA, yes. But if people want him spending $20M on free agents every year, is a bit extreme.
Mar 11, 2016 6:34 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Look at Carolina, AZ, NE and Denver.....do you see those teams out there tossing big money at FA's this year?
Mar 11, 2016 6:34 AM - azrsx05: I bet if he stops over spending for our mediocre guys. He would be able to sign a few upgrade free agents every year. Doesn't mean get the Osweiller contracts, but I'm sure there would be some free agents willing totake a discount to get a chance at playing with Rodgers and a team that is close.
Mar 11, 2016 6:35 AM - Pokerbrat2000: The teams spending the big money on FA's are the ones in rebuild mode.....we aren't in rebuild mode.
Mar 11, 2016 6:36 AM - adambr2: I think he has a lot more than a bit too much confidence in our own players. Perry and Crosby, two easily replaceable players, will make about the same from us as Trevathan and Ladarius Green BOTH will make this year after having gone through free agency. That bothers me a LOT. Which two would make us better?
Mar 11, 2016 6:36 AM - azrsx05: NE will fill needs with free agents. And look at their track record. Even if they just a rent a guy a year or two till they find a solution. Denver has 4 SB appearances in the past 20 years.
Mar 11, 2016 6:38 AM - azrsx05: Exactly Adam next thing you'll hear. BREAKING NEWS. Packers sign long snapper on a 2 year contract for $5 mil
Mar 11, 2016 6:38 AM - adambr2: We will never be in rebuild mode as long as we have Aaron Rodgers. But thats a testament to how important an elite QB is, not a testament to what Ted has done the last few years.
Mar 11, 2016 6:38 AM - Pokerbrat2000: We assume that Green and Trevathan would make us better, but....do we know for sure?
Mar 11, 2016 6:38 AM - azrsx05: And extend Masthays contract
Mar 11, 2016 6:38 AM - Pokerbrat2000: lol
Mar 11, 2016 6:39 AM - adambr2: That's about what we gave Lane Taylor, close enough
Mar 11, 2016 6:39 AM - azrsx05: Well we do not for sure that Perry has a track record of being hurt.
Mar 11, 2016 6:39 AM - azrsx05: Know*
Mar 11, 2016 6:40 AM - adambr2: Well we don't KNOW that Trevathan would make us better, but I think we can certainly assume that the top ILB in free agency at our weakest position would be a benefit

Mar 11, 2016 at 6:40 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I'm not super unhappy about missing out on Trevathan, I think the low amount he signed for kind of told you something, he was good.....on a great defense. Green, I would have like to have had but was he interested in GB?
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:42 AM - azrsx05: Trevathan said he wishes GB had reached out to him. But they didn't. I'm sure they might have been able to get him with a 3 year at maybe $1-2 mil more every year than Perry. We paid $5 mil for a first round bust who is a bench guy
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:42 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Look at Richard Rodgers numbers, he really isn't as bad as we all like to make him. His ave/catch was down last year, but so was the rest of the team. Maybe TT has his eye on a speedier TE in the draft?
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:44 AM - azrsx05: Don't hold your breath. TT knows we need ILB and TE. He might ignore that until 3rd-4th round because "abetted available" player was there earlier
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:45 AM - adambr2: Maybe. I'm really not bothered that we didn't sign Trevathan. I'm upset that we didn't even so much as make a 30 second call to his agent to inquire. To me, if you're not at least exploring all possible avenues of improving your team, you're not doing your damn job as GM.
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:45 AM - azrsx05: Exactly.
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:52 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I remember the panic last year after Williams and House were not resigned, people said TT needs to sign a FA CB NOW!.....Somehow, someway, he was able to fix that problem without using FA's. Again, not saying I don't think a TE and an ILB are needs, but TT has another plan it appears.
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:53 AM - 7thFloorRA: well ilb and te have been needs for years and he hasn't fixed it. Can't wait for another blackman or bradford to suck.
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:55 AM - 4zone: Like the one year Perry contract, but not the price. Too much for a guy not being sought after by other teams and who can't stay healthy.
Mar 11, 2016 at 6:57 AM - Ace: Kaepernick wants to play in Cleveland.. he's apparently as dumb as he is terrible
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:03 AM - 4zone: TT's walking our guys back in one at a time. In a few weeks, he'll look over whats left in FA and decide if they can help or not. In the end, we start the draft where we ended the season except we have the injured guys back and 2 year guys about to make the leap. I can live with that.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:03 AM - Pokerbrat2000: How do we know Perry wasn't sought by other teams?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:04 AM - 4zone: PB2K - The one year deal. Otherwise he would have gone for the long term money instead.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:05 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I feel the same 4zone, we finished the year near the top with a young team. So why not roll with that team and the healthy returns and plug your needs through the draft. But I still would have liked to see an ILB FA.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:09 AM - 4zone: PB2K - I get the urge everyone has with that. Sure, we would love to have an impact kinda guy come it but that costs us guys we already had so we go down in other areas in order to make it happen. I think we pull in 3 impact players in the draft and another 3-4 guys for solid depth.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:12 AM - 4zone: I think we get a good DT or LB in round 1, TE in round 2 and DT LB or RB in round 3. OT could fall in their as well but with probably 3 4th round picks, we could be well off by the end of round 4.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:13 AM - Pokerbrat2000: only so many big contract guys you can have on a team without that effecting the talent around them and the cap.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:13 AM - adambr2: Realistically, do you think Perry was offered over $5M elsewhere? He has stated a preference to play in a 4-3 in the past and I think would have walked for a chance to do so if the money was similar.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:15 AM - 4zone: PB2k - Yea. And we have two high priced OG's, OT and Lacy coming due next year. A little carry over cap money will come in handy then.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:16 AM - Pokerbrat2000: 2017 FA's are going to be tough decisions for sure.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:16 AM - Pokerbrat2000: But, that is a mark of a team at the top
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:16 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Look at Denver this year
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:16 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Seahawks previous years
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:17 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Hard to keep all your core players when you are an upper tier team, but TT manages for the most part pretty well.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:18 AM - 4zone: Player management is nothing less than an art form. Talent, contracts and systems to factor in. You have to find the sweet spot where you have just the right mix of experience and youth, studs and role players. Not mortaging the future and not leaving it short. Their are few out there who can dance that dance.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:19 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Belicheck seems to be the master and he infuses FA's as well
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:19 AM - azrsx05: Everyone said the Seahawks were heading towards a Cap nightmare. They've been able to keep their role players and have signed free agents and are constantly a team everyone fears in the playoffs the past few years.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:19 AM - 4zone: And then there are injuries that no one can predict. It's a rough sport an guys get hurt. Who could say where we would have ended up if Jordy didn't get hurt, or Ty...?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:19 AM - azrsx05: If not for Rodgers. I bet TT would've been gone long time ago
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:20 AM - Pokerbrat2000: John Schneider learned from the best lol
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:21 AM - Ace: Saying without Rodgers, TT would have been gone is basically giving him 0 credit for drafting Rodgers.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:21 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I hear that a lot azrsx, but that assumes TT wouldn't have found a decent QB.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:21 AM - azrsx05: We aren't the only team dealing with injuries. You build your team expecting injuries. So you can't use that as an excuse. We all know that's part of the game.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:21 AM - Pokerbrat2000: agreed Ace
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:21 AM - 4zone: Belicheck is probably the best out there today. TT might not be at the top, but I guarentee he would be hired the day after if he got fired from GB.

Mar 11, 2016 at 7:22 AM - azrsx05: TT got lucky that Rodgers fell to him that far into the first round.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:22 AM - azrsx05: TT can go get hired by the Browns tomorrow.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:22 AM - Ace: BUT HE STILL DRAFTED HIM
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:22 AM - Ace: Jesus Christ
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:22 AM - Pokerbrat2000: and the Packers and fans got lucky that TT knew what he was doing and took him
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:23 AM - Ace: You can't take one of the best players in the league out of an argument just to try and make a point. Makes the argument worthless
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:23 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Now I think Wolfs move to get Favre showed more brilliance then TT getting Rodgers, but given the situation the Packers were in at the time, few except TT saw the need of taking Rodgers.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:23 AM - 4zone: arz - Injuries aren't an excuse, just a fact of NFL life. And you are correct, you have to build for them. That's where we are right now. I think we are overall pretty competitive, with a few needs, on the front lines, we really need depth at spots though. OT, DL, RB, TE
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:24 AM - Ace: If Bill Belicheck is never born, the Patriots probably don't win 4 SB's. I mean its ridiculous
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:24 AM - Pokerbrat2000: lol
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:24 AM - Pokerbrat2000: If TT is never born, the Packers are bottom feeders?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:25 AM - Pokerbrat2000: or Super Bowl champions 10 years in a row
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:25 AM - azrsx05: Doubt it
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:26 AM - Pokerbrat2000: How many teams have had the success that the Packers have had during the time under TT?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:26 AM - 4zone: Forget the 'what ifs'. Deal with the 'what is'. Now were do we go from here?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:26 AM - Pokerbrat2000: and please don't use the Rodgers argument.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:26 AM - Ace: 2 maybe 3, New England and Pitt come to mind right away
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:27 AM - Pokerbrat2000: being in the top 4 over 11 years is pretty good IMO
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:27 AM - Pokerbrat2000: look at the mess that TT took over as well
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:27 AM - Ace: The "well if TT didn't have AR" argument is quite possibly the worst argument anyone could ever make
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:27 AM - 4zone: Quick one, if Rankin, Ragland, Lee and Elliot are available at #27, which do you take?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:28 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Sherman was well on his way to sending this team back to the 80's
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:28 AM - azrsx05: Rodgers
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:28 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Ragland
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:30 AM - 4zone: PB2k - Lee could be the next Matthews.... Ranking an upgrade to any DT on the Roster, Elliot gives us Thunder and Lightning..?
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:32 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I see Andrew Billings NT pop up a lot now for the Packers pick
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:32 AM - 4zone: I guess my point is that I think we will have a guy available to us who can make an immediate impact in round 1.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:32 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Deep defensive draft for sure
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:33 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I have this sick feeling that either Conklin or Decker will fall and TT will grab one of them. Not a bad pick, but uggg.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:34 AM - 4zone: Would definately be nice to upgrade depth on OL. It hurt us bad last year.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:35 AM - 4zone: Bahk is also a FA next year. Along with Sitton and Lang. I can't see us signing all three.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:37 AM - 4zone: I think there is depth at OT later on for quality develop guys. Willie Beavers, Cole Toner. I see us going DT first round, TE second, RB or LB 3rd, OT, LB maybe CB/S in 4th
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:37 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Browns expected to release Johnny Manziel by close of day.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:38 AM - Pokerbrat2000: not making my final prediction on draft until the day before and the FA and resigning are done.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:39 AM - Pokerbrat2000: but....I can say QB and CB better not be picks made in the first 4 rounds

Mar 11, 2016 at 7:39 AM - Pokerbrat2000: if anywhere in the draft
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:42 AM - 4zone: I don't think FA will have much effect on the Draft. If Tolzien does bolt, we have to draft or sign a QB. I expect they would come in round 5 or after though. CB, is more if a depth kind of thing. I'd like to see at least 2 ILB's drafted and one OLB. If we could get Lee in round 1, that would be the best. Might have to trade up to get him but he could fill in inside or outside.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:42 AM - adambr2: The trouble with using only the draft as your improvement tool is that you need to be almost perfect to get away with it, or your holes are going to come faster than your draft picks can fill them. I think TT thinks he's a better drafter than he is. There's nothing special about him. He has some big hits, some big misses, and many in the middle, just like any other GM
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:44 AM - 4zone: adam - It's the balance you end up with. Right now, like everyone else, I don't think we are at optimum balance. We are close though. Also, don't forget we do have FA's on the roster as well, just not a lot of them.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:47 AM - 4zone: I think next year will be the much bigger test. We have 4 core players coming into FA. This is where you have to make the tough decisions. This year's guys are mostly 2nd tier. Next year we are talking 60% of the OL starters, plus your #1 RB. Watch and see if TT doesn't pre-plan that by the draft this year by going for RB, OT and possibly an OG.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:51 AM - adambr2: Yep. Trouble with not using FA - again here, is more holes than your picks can fill. You've listed a lot -- two ILB, one OLB, QB, RB, OT, and OG. We only have so many picks, and especially with the late round ones, some of these guys are probably not going to end up as contributors at the NFL level.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:54 AM - 4zone: adam - if you sign an upgrade at OLB instead of Perry, you lose Perry(no loss since it's an upgrade) but you also lose at least one if not more other Packer FA's as well. Guys you can't replace because you don't have the money. This is how you lose players.
Mar 11, 2016 at 7:57 AM - 4zone: Same with TE. The money has to come from someone else's paycheck which means more holes to fill during the draft. And if the draft cant fill those holes because of lack of FA activity, how can if fill the additional holes signing high end FA's will create?
Mar 11, 2016 at 8:08 AM - 4zone: A good article by John Clayton - http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...bowl-contenders-sat-sidelines-free-agency-far
Mar 11, 2016 at 8:11 AM - 4zone: Can't remember who brought up Seattle for FA signings or retaining talent. But remember that their QB was under a rookie contract until recently. Just wait till those other high end contracts come due next time and see what happens.
Mar 11, 2016 at 8:38 AM - Ace: they've already started having to let people go 4zone. Yeah, when your QB makes $20M/year as opposed to $500k it's harder to manage that cap
Mar 11, 2016 at 8:52 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Ouch....Browns have made 8 first-round picks since 2011. Only 4 - Mingo, Gilbert, Shelton, Erving - remain with team.
Mar 11, 2016 at 8:56 AM - metallicblaze: 50% hit rate with how high up they usually draft is not good!
Mar 11, 2016 at 8:58 AM - metallicblaze: Jerrell Freeman to visit Chicago Bears.
Mar 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Comparative # for Packers since 2011 they have had 11 picks in Rds 1-2 , 8 of those players are still on the team (Sherrod: Injury, Worthy: bust and Hayward: current FA)
Mar 11, 2016 at 10:42 AM - adambr2: 4zone, I'm not talking about acquiring elite free agents and gutting other areas to sign them. I'm talking about reasonable acquisitions, spending your money more efficiently. Trevathan and Green would be plenty affordable if we didn't need to dedicate $10M this year to two replacement level players like Crosby and Perry whose production frankly could have been much more easily found via draft
Mar 11, 2016 at 10:44 AM - Ace: Sanchez to Broncos for conditional 7th Rd pick. Wow, go from Peyton Manning to Mark Sanchez.
Mar 11, 2016 at 10:48 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I can see the Broncos bringing in all sorts of Vet QB's to try and find the one that works best with their offense.
Mar 11, 2016 at 10:56 AM - adambr2: Sanchez will bust then next March we'll trade them Hundley for a 1st. :)
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:03 AM - Vltrophy: Crosby was a good sign imo. Gotta have a good K. Many games ride on their legs
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:12 AM - Pokerbrat2000: We probably overpaid a bit for Crosby, but when you are talking maybe...$1M in football and the security of it, not a whole lot to complain about. Only part I didn't like was how much is guaranteed.
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:20 AM - tynimiller: I still think Broncos should have made a play for Fitzpatrick at QB....
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:29 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Fitzpatrick needs to lose the beard, its costing him millions :D
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:39 AM - Green and Gold: More 4th round O-line prospects would be nice. Really worried about next year with Lang and Sitton being free agents.
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:40 AM - Ace: Bears making moves, Traded Marty B and a 2nd for Muhammed Wilkerson.
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:45 AM - Ace: Nm appears to be a fake. I've been had LOLOLOL
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:45 AM - Pokerbrat2000: decent trade for the Bears
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:47 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Dom Cosentino Twitter account Ace?
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:47 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I see it on a few posts
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:48 AM - Ace: Yep, I'll show myself out now as now I've completely been had both ways.
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:52 AM - Ace: Okay, last one it is fake. Have a good night everyone
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:54 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL....you aren't the first.....nor the last.......Even "Real" media sources aren't always fully reliable. Everyone wants to be the first to break the news.
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:55 AM - Pokerbrat2000: After all, didn't Al Gore invent the internet?
Mar 11, 2016 at 11:58 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL.....Dom Cosentino post was a fake twitter account that has more followers then the real NY Sportswriter Dom Cosentino :D

Mar 11, 2016 at 11:59 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: 3rd & 4th I mean
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:01 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Trying to trade Bennett and his attitude isn't going to be easy
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:02 PM - Pokerbrat2000: especially if he doesn't want to play for that team
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:04 PM - SeahawkFan80: Can you separate the attitude from Bennett? Maybe trade for just Bennett?
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:05 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Hoping the Bears keep the attitude and get rid of Bennett
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:05 PM - SeahawkFan80: And Fitz lose the Beard???? Is the league not allowed two Lucks???
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:06 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I haven't watched Fitz play much, but I remember the first time I saw him I was like "When did Grizzly Adams start playing football?"
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:06 PM - Pokerbrat2000: maybe with it, he looks deceivingly slow?
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:07 PM - SeahawkFan80: LOL...KNow what you mean
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:07 PM - SeahawkFan80: But if he goes with the wind...it is like a sail???
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:07 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I think the Seahawks should trade the Packers Graham for a 6th or 7th rounder
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:08 PM - SeahawkFan80: Naw....I say we just cut him....LOL
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:08 PM - Pokerbrat2000: A sail with breakfast hiding inside of it
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:08 PM - Pokerbrat2000: come on man, I feel bad......want to give you guys something
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:09 PM - SeahawkFan80: Hmmm.....Fat Lacy???
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:09 PM - Pokerbrat2000: If you cut him, Miami or the Texans will pick him up and pay him $20M/year
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:09 PM - Pokerbrat2000: you can have fat Lacy as long as we get to keep skinny Lacy
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:10 PM - Pokerbrat2000: *puts a Lacy jersey on Raji and ships him to Seattle*
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:10 PM - Pokerbrat2000: don't look under the helmet!
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:10 PM - SeahawkFan80: Oh great....we separating the attitude from Bennett and the fat from lacy. LOL
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:11 PM - Pokerbrat2000: all is good......Seahawks get a real body eater
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:12 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I wanna know what is up in Miami.....its like 5-6 guys have 90% of the cap pie
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:12 PM - SeahawkFan80: If you can stop 3 players at one time, that leaves a lot of other players to play with.
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:12 PM - SeahawkFan80: Me thinks they took a trip to cuba and got the WRONG cigars.
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:12 PM - tynimiller: Anyone else for a second picture Raji in a lacey dress.....hahahahaha
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:13 PM - SeahawkFan80: Ewwwwww
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:14 PM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL...oh you are a sick man tyn!
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:15 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I will never look at Raji the same again!
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:15 PM - SeahawkFan80: It can get worse.......OMG ugh.....
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:16 PM - Pokerbrat2000: at least you said dress and not a Lacy Teddy
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:16 PM - SeahawkFan80: could be worse
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:16 PM - Pokerbrat2000: don't go there......I beg you
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:17 PM - SeahawkFan80: deal

Mar 11, 2016 at 12:20 PM - SeahawkFan80: Well I see lotta clouds and wind but need to get some stuff done. Laters.
Mar 11, 2016 at 12:55 PM - Green and Gold: Don't think we're dipping in the FA this year.
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Give it time.....if we are, it will be in the coming weeks.
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:05 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Patriots get Chris Hogan....seems like a steep price ($4M/yr) for a guy that hasn't done much?
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:14 PM - Ace: I'm sure the Patriots will be showered with praise for that move though
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:29 PM - Poppa San: The pickup that will put them back on top and earn a A+ rating from the pundits. :p
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:31 PM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL....knowing Belicheck though, Hogan will end up having a 1600 yd year...that was a full on squeeze play with the Bills cap issue
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:32 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I wanna see someone play Chicken with Elway and Marshall's tender
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Pokerbrat2000: At least this time Bill was inflating his own balls!
Mar 11, 2016 at 1:43 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Remember Belicheck was so busy at Alabama's Pro Day on Wednesday, that this may have been his first chance to look at FA's
Mar 11, 2016 at 2:59 PM - ThePerfectBeard: Pack signed Vince Kowalski!
Mar 11, 2016 at 2:59 PM - ThePerfectBeard: **** ya!
Mar 11, 2016 at 3:15 PM - C-Lee: cya Tolzien
Mar 11, 2016 at 3:21 PM - Wynnebeck: FIrst Taylor and then Kowalski? Starting to think TT wants these guys to fill in for the upcoming OL free agents in 2017.
Mar 11, 2016 at 3:24 PM - 7thFloorRA: who the hell is kowalski? has he ever even played
Mar 11, 2016 at 3:26 PM - Poppa San: Tolzien backup to Luck?
Mar 11, 2016 at 3:27 PM - Poppa San: Opening on roster for Jonny Football. Come on Ted, I heard of him so go get him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mar 11, 2016 at 3:42 PM - C-Lee: lol
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:11 PM - Vltrophy: Packers signed Chris Long DT
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:11 PM - Vltrophy: 4 year deal
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:24 PM - Eli Haugen: chris long. for real?
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:26 PM - 7thFloorRA: where is this?
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:27 PM - 7thFloorRA: I don't see it anywhere
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:28 PM - Vltrophy: I think it was Facebook where I saw it. I'll double check
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:29 PM - sjb12681: Not true until it hits the espn scroll or a verified twitter account :)
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:32 PM - 7thFloorRA: ya....its one single twitter link to 1 page and nothing else at all about it. sounds like BS like the forte rumor
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:32 PM - 7thFloorRA: and that tweet was an hour ago.
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:33 PM - Vltrophy: I guess so. Haven't seen it anywhere else. Saw it on fb & was hoping TT actually did something.
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:36 PM - Vltrophy: Someone playing a joke. That sucks
Mar 11, 2016 at 5:57 PM - Green and Gold: Good for Scott.

Mar 11, 2016 8:41 PM - ExpatPacker: Meanwhile, Pittsburgh signs Ladarius Green.
Mar 12, 2016 6:10 AM - Vrill: ^ Old news
Mar 12, 2016 8:31 AM - Green and Gold: I'd be really surprised if Starks didn't come back.
Mar 12, 2016 8:31 AM - Green and Gold: If he didn't I've always liked the way Morris runs.
Mar 12, 2016 8:53 AM - adambr2: Morris doesn't have the make of a 3rd down back, though. I don't think he'd be a very good complement to Lacy.
Mar 12, 2016 9:23 AM - Green and Gold: Foster would fit nicely. He's a true one-cut runner in a zone blocking system.
Mar 12, 2016 9:28 AM - Pokerbrat2000: The last thing I read on Chris Long was he is headed to Dallas
Mar 12, 2016 9:47 AM - Vrill: do we use a zone run block system though?
Mar 12, 2016 10:12 AM - Wynnebeck: James Jones meeting with the Dolpguns
Mar 12, 2016 10:13 AM - Wynnebeck: Dolphins*
Mar 12, 2016 11:08 AM - Vltrophy: Martavias Bryant could possibly be suspended for 1 yr for substance abuse
Mar 12, 2016 11:15 AM - Poppa San: That'll mess up my dynasty team, if true!
Mar 12, 2016 11:30 AM - Vltrophy: Found it on Twitter. He's appealing of course
Mar 12, 2016 12:08 PM - 7thFloorRA: ...and Freeman is a Bear.
Mar 12, 2016 12:09 PM - 7thFloorRA: 3 yrs 12 mil?? They aren't paying crap for these guys so something seems off.
Mar 12, 2016 12:12 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Maybe crap? To everyone but Da Bears?
Mar 12, 2016 12:15 PM - 7thFloorRA: They have rebuilt there ILB position with 2 supposedly good players for 10 mil per year total.
Mar 12, 2016 12:16 PM - 7thFloorRA: I am getting the feeling that we as packer fans having seen some pretty bad play out of that position as far as speed and coverage go...really value that position but the rest of the league does not.
Mar 12, 2016 12:26 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Ryan and Barrington are covering those 2 positions at a combined $1.33M just saying lol
Mar 12, 2016 1:05 PM - TeamTundra: Glad we didn't draft WR Martavias Bryant
Mar 12, 2016 1:13 PM - sdh09e44: why
Mar 12, 2016 1:13 PM - sdh09e44: dont
Mar 12, 2016 1:13 PM - sdh09e44: we

Mar 12, 2016 1:13 PM - sdh09e44: fycking
Mar 12, 2016 1:14 PM - sdh09e44: ILBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
Mar 12, 2016 1:14 PM - sdh09e44: huge hole on this team and the GM has failed miserably addressing it
Mar 12, 2016 1:16 PM - sdh09e44: but......he couldve just signed a ILB at any point during the last 4 seasons or draft one in the earlier rounds
Mar 12, 2016 1:16 PM - 7thFloorRA: That is all Ryan and Barrington are covering. They are both firmly planted in concrete
Mar 12, 2016 1:16 PM - 7thFloorRA: There can not have been that much of a demand though for those 2 the bears signed if thats all they cost.
Mar 12, 2016 1:27 PM - Croak: or there is some reason, unknown to us, that that is all they cost....
Mar 12, 2016 1:55 PM - adambr2: Barrington and Ryan 'covering' 2 positions for 1.2M is a pretty generous definition of the word 'cover'
Mar 12, 2016 2:32 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I didn't say that they have it covered well ;) While I would love to see an upgrade at ILB, I'm not ready to say that neither Barrington or Ryan have reached their full potential.
Mar 12, 2016 4:54 PM - Jz3: Freeman 4m per year. Perry a bust/scrub 5m year. TT over pays his own draft picks.

Mar 12, 2016 8:12 PM - 7thFloorRA: I like both Ryan and Barrington but they are kind of the same guy. They need the guy who can cover or the OC's of the league will continue to create matchups where one of those 2 is in coverage and it will be wide open every time.
Mar 13, 2016 8:41 AM - SeahawkFan80: My guys said that we are basically in the same boat in cap situation. One said that we will probably put about 2.2 mil in draft personnel. After that I think we will get a couple of UFA and then worry about the season later.
Mar 13, 2016 8:57 AM - 7thFloorRA: Interesting that I have not heard a peep about Casey. I really don't want him back but I wanted the comp pick!!!
Mar 13, 2016 9:21 AM - metallicblaze: Casey is too good to not sign somewhere, even here.
Mar 13, 2016 11:17 AM - Wynnebeck: Tweets from an actual NFL Agent about FAs: NFL Free Agents taking Team visits after Day 2 are doing the Proverbial "walk of Shame". There is "No Money Left."
Mar 13, 2016 11:17 AM - Wynnebeck: ""The Money has left the Room." either your Agent was afraid to tell you or you were delusional about your value"
Mar 13, 2016 11:17 AM - Wynnebeck: "Rule of Thumb: Never take Free Agent visits w/out Deal Parameters in place?
Mar 13, 2016 11:19 AM - Pokerbrat2000: The money has left the rooms of the early shopping teams, notice the teams at the top of the standings, barely spent a dime?
Mar 13, 2016 11:23 AM - Wynnebeck: This can only mean good things for TT. These FAs realize that if they didn't get a big deal by the end of the first week, they weren't getting paid. Now this puts power in TT's hand to get some good deals for guys who are hungry for money and a job.
Mar 13, 2016 12:08 PM - adambr2: Unfortunately we're kind of in the same boat after overpaying for Crosby, Guion, and Perry. Not much money left.
Mar 13, 2016 1:00 PM - Vltrophy: Chargers looking to sign Hayward
Mar 13, 2016 1:02 PM - Vltrophy: My bad he already signed w/them
Mar 13, 2016 1:06 PM - 7thFloorRA: awesome. good bye and good luck. Comp pick hopefully.
Mar 13, 2016 1:07 PM - Wynnebeck: lol For Casey? 5th round if that.
Mar 13, 2016 1:17 PM - Jz3: 3y 15m for Hayward wow cheap
Mar 13, 2016 1:18 PM - Jz3: Funny how TT signs scrubs for the same price other teams pay good starters
Mar 13, 2016 1:40 PM - TeamTundra: Hayward signs 3-yr $15m deal with Chargers
Mar 13, 2016 1:43 PM - Favre>Rodgers259: Yall gonna miss Heyward just wait.
Mar 13, 2016 1:44 PM - 7thFloorRA: ya....really going to miss his slowness, weakness and inability to tackle
Mar 13, 2016 1:48 PM - 7thFloorRA: 3/15 should return a comp pick
Mar 13, 2016 2:04 PM - TeamTundra: I'm guessing 5th round.
Mar 13, 2016 2:32 PM - Eli Haugen: I think Gunter looking good, has more t do with it than Hayward looking bad.
Mar 13, 2016 3:14 PM - JK64: Yeah, I'll really miss the ints in the last 2 years.
Mar 13, 2016 3:14 PM - JK64: Ryan is too slow.
Mar 13, 2016 4:12 PM - sdh09e44: It was pretty obvious to tell hayward wasnt going to be back.
Mar 13, 2016 4:14 PM - sdh09e44: but now, TT has to sign Neal and Raji. If we arent going to bring in any new players, let us please not lose more than 1 guy on defense. Keep it together the best you can. Best case scenario is the Rookie we draft in the first round ends up starting and we have neal or raji as solid depth and rotational guys once again
Mar 13, 2016 4:29 PM - 7thFloorRA: Casey sucked after he blew out his hammy playing pickup basketball
Mar 13, 2016 4:29 PM - 7thFloorRA: He kept gunter off the field last year.
Mar 13, 2016 4:30 PM - 7thFloorRA: Rollins is better than him and the defense is better without him.
Mar 13, 2016 4:52 PM - Eli Haugen: I would really like to see Raji resigned asap.
Mar 13, 2016 5:04 PM - adambr2: Haven't heard a peep on him. Guessing there's not much of a market for him.
Mar 13, 2016 5:37 PM - 7thFloorRA: oh im sure the bears are looking at him since they can't draft for ****
Mar 13, 2016 6:36 PM - Wynnebeck: sigh I guess it's the waiting game. I think TT is going to go as long as he can before he starts making calls. Closer to Draft Day we get, the more desperate FAs will become to et a deal knowing that they can be replaced by a draft pick for cheap and their services won't be needed anymore.
Mar 13, 2016 7:11 PM - 7thFloorRA: The thing that is pissing me off the most is that he STILL hasn't signed a punter
Mar 13, 2016 7:13 PM - Wynnebeck: Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 48s48 seconds ago Bears announce former Patriots DT Akiem Hicks has agreed to a 2-year deal.

Mar 13, 2016 at 7:13 PM - Wynnebeck: Bears are putting together a stout defense all of a sudden
Mar 13, 2016 at 7:18 PM - 7thFloorRA: They have done this before and it ended horribly. These guys could be looking for a payday and checking out.
Mar 13, 2016 at 7:28 PM - Wynnebeck: What if these guys are actually playing for real? I could see Trevathan being a menace.
Mar 13, 2016 at 7:32 PM - 7thFloorRA: Its really hard to say with Trevathon. Look at the guys he played next too and all the double teams and attention they commanded. He may be legit but he may overrated as well.
Mar 13, 2016 at 7:53 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I said it in a thread, I may have hoped for Green and Trevathon, but will wait to judge TT on what he does or doesn't do this off season.....after the results of the coming season.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:36 PM - Green and Gold: Now GB can use their remaining cap room to start resigning some of the Offensive lineman who are due extensions (Sitton, Lang, Backtiari, & Tretter)
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:37 PM - Green and Gold: People forget that GB has some big name FAs of their own to extend and resign over the next year or so.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:38 PM - Green and Gold: Sad to see Casey go, but Randall and Rollins look pretty promising.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:39 PM - Green and Gold: Hayward had a great rookie year.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:39 PM - Green and Gold: Chargers got a steal for him.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:40 PM - Green and Gold: Hopefully Ted finds another solid DB late in the draft.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:42 PM - 7thFloorRA: Casey did have a great rookie year. He also was awful after destroying his hamstring during the offseason playing basketball.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:42 PM - 7thFloorRA: TT found 3 absolute stud db's last year. I think they are fine. Gunter as an UDFA is just criminal.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:46 PM - Wynnebeck: We do not need another DB. This secondary is quickly on the rise to being a top defensive unit with Rolllins, Randall, Gunter, Shields, and Haha.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:49 PM - 7thFloorRA: Goodson, Hyde
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:50 PM - 7thFloorRA: They can probably take another safety or a tweener guy late or UDFA but this is one of the best units in the league top to bottom IMO....and the world has not seen Gunter yet who I think will be a shut down corner in time.
Mar 13, 2016 at 8:56 PM - Wynnebeck: Now if we could just shore up our run D, we'd actually get back to being an elite D with an elite O

Mar 14, 2016 6:24 AM - 4Ever4Favre: I just hope we get back to just having any type of offense, let alone elite.
Mar 14, 2016 9:14 AM - Vltrophy: Panthers interested in Raji
Mar 14, 2016 9:46 AM - metallicblaze: What good are DB's if RB's are bowling them over. Need big guys on the line to clog up so the LB's can make some plays. Then we need LB's that can actually make those plays consistently.
Mar 14, 2016 10:00 AM - 4zone: I have come to the conclusion that as long as TT is GM, the Packers will always be 2 years away. They say 'draft and develop' but develop for who? Half the guys leave for other teams so at best, we only keep 1/2 our developed players. And we 'almost' never sign FA's to fill starter needs, we draft for them. So more often than not, no matter who you draft, they usually take two years to develop
Mar 14, 2016 10:01 AM - 4zone: So, as long as we keep rigidly to this philosophy, we will pretty much always be two years away.
Mar 14, 2016 10:04 AM - 4zone: So what if you have to lose players to the Cap every couple years. Your losing them already so what's the difference. Reggie White made GB and FA destination, TT is turning it into a FA wasteland no one wants to go near.
Mar 14, 2016 10:04 AM - Vrill: Bad argument. If that talent develops and produces during that same timeframe, then you win. its called Inertia.
Mar 14, 2016 10:06 AM - Mondio: Except for the year we did win it, 2 years ago when we were definitely good enough to win it but decided to choke instead and thru the first 6 weeks of this pat season when seemingly every fan and pundit alike had them penciled in as the NFC representative for the Super Bowl.
Mar 14, 2016 10:11 AM - C-Lee: I wish I was on this site when we choked in Seattle. I can only imgaine what it was like.
Mar 14, 2016 10:21 AM - Pokerbrat2000: or 1 of the many Seahawk fans who left early and had to "listen" to the game from the parking lot LOL
Mar 14, 2016 10:23 AM - Pokerbrat2000: "yup went to the Seahawks game, but wanted to beat traffic home, so I missed one of the most classic chokes and comebacks of all time"
Mar 14, 2016 10:29 AM - C-Lee: still hurts, tbh
Mar 14, 2016 10:37 AM - Pokerbrat2000: only thing that game did was take some of the sting away from the fail mary game
Mar 14, 2016 10:38 AM - sdh09e44: 4zone is spot on
Mar 14, 2016 10:39 AM - 4zone: Vrill-Big word there 'if'.
Mar 14, 2016 10:39 AM - sdh09e44: pack always gonna be two years away
Mar 14, 2016 10:41 AM - sdh09e44: if we get ragland or lee and they are studs. Thats great. But in 3-4 years when they hit their prime. Goodbye clay goodbye jordy goodbye sitton lang and decline of daniels older cobb older lacy etc etc.
Mar 14, 2016 10:41 AM - 4zone: Vrill-There is a lot less 'if' in FA than in the draft. You already have a few years of NFL level competition to more accurately evaluate the talent.
Mar 14, 2016 10:42 AM - Ace: Completely disagree about the "if's" in free agency. Why don't you go ask SD's GM if he'd like to have the Donald Butler contract back?
Mar 14, 2016 10:42 AM - Pokerbrat2000: you sure about that zone? The down side of making a mistake in FA can be very expensive, ask all the teams that do it routinely each year.
Mar 14, 2016 10:42 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Ace...get out of my head LOL
Mar 14, 2016 10:43 AM - 4zone: sdh-I don't think Ragland falls that far, nor Lee. I think we will end up with a DL or OT in round 1. TE will come in 2 or three and ILB 3 or 4. I see Nick Vigil or Beniquez Brown coming our way and probably Hooper or Venett.
Mar 14, 2016 10:43 AM - Ace: Or when Washington signed Albert Haynseworth? Or Dallas and Brandon Carr. the list goes on and on and on an on
Mar 14, 2016 10:43 AM - sdh09e44: packers were in PRIME postition to sign a free agent this year. Great youth core and great Vet core all coming together at the right time. Guys not too young and guys not too old
Mar 14, 2016 10:43 AM - Pokerbrat2000: why do people assume that signing a FA to a large $ contract automatically pays off?
Mar 14, 2016 10:44 AM - sdh09e44: just needed one outside guy to put us over the top.......we have no time to waste relying on the further deveopmet of ILBs and Tes. We need huge contributions from those areas right now
Mar 14, 2016 10:44 AM - 4zone: Ace-I'm not saying every GM makes smart decisions in FA. I'm saying you have better tape on players to make your evaluation.
Mar 14, 2016 10:44 AM - Ace: Look, I wish Ted were more active in free agency but is Malik Jackson really $50M better than Mike Daniels?
Mar 14, 2016 10:44 AM - sdh09e44: its not an assumption poker brat. It may not work. But it may work. Its 50/50 man.
Mar 14, 2016 10:45 AM - 4zone: I think FA is starting to self adjust money wise. Still has a long way to go but I think teams are getting smarter on how they spend in FA.
Mar 14, 2016 10:45 AM - Ace: Missing in the draft is ALOT less expensive than missing in free agency
Mar 14, 2016 10:45 AM - Ace: and the end result is exactly the same
Mar 14, 2016 10:46 AM - sdh09e44: and as a fan, I am ready to give FA a shot lol. I am ready for the team to sign a big time FA in his prime to see if thats what this team needs to win another superbowl. I will never get over it if in ten years from now all this talented didnt win a superbowl, maybe because the GM didnt make the right moves
Mar 14, 2016 10:47 AM - Pokerbrat2000: 50/50? You think? At what cost if you make a mistake? Let's take Trevathan, who I wanted. He doesn't earn his money, meanwhile you have Jake Ryan losing playing time.
Mar 14, 2016 10:47 AM - 4zone: Ace-True. But not everyone in FA is a crap shoot either. I don't think there were many really high level guys out there this year to pick from anyway. I would just like us to keep the base we had last year and build from it. Not let more of that base crumble.

Mar 14, 2016 at 10:47 AM - 7thFloorRA: Raji is retiring?? WTF?
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:48 AM - Pokerbrat2000: where did you read that?
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:48 AM - Ace: Yep, not fake. Ryan Wood on twitter
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:50 AM - sdh09e44: damn
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:50 AM - Pokerbrat2000: see it....wow.....he must have enough stashed away
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:50 AM - sdh09e44: another hole
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:51 AM - 4zone: If true, I guess DT becomes the best bet in round 1 this year
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:52 AM - Pokerbrat2000: he was a FA and we probably weren't going to resign him anyway
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:52 AM - sdh09e44: andrew billings it is. Hes a beast
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:52 AM - Ace: Yeah, I don't know how much this actually changes things. I think they made their choice on who to keep when they resigned Guion
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:52 AM - Pokerbrat2000: At least it wasn't "Aaron Rodgers marries Olivia and plans on retiring"
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:52 AM - 4zone: News was Pack was trying to re-sign him. Maybe it just wasn't enough for him to warrent the wear and tear.
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:54 AM - sdh09e44: That is true Pokerbrat. I am aware of the pitfalls of FA. It hurts the team a lot sometimes. But you cant just look at it that way. You have to take into account the postive effect it can have. Its a chance for sure. But a chance that can heavily pay off.
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:54 AM - 4zone: sdh-Don't think Billings will fall that far. Rankin maybe because of size but I kinda doubt that too.
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:54 AM - sdh09e44: I think he might!
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:55 AM - sdh09e44: mocks are mocks, but his name hasnt been listed pre 27 in tons of them
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:57 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I understand sdh and fully support the right FA signing, but seems like many fans think TT screws up when he doesn't sign this one or that one, simply because we think he should have. I give credit to TT for having more knowledge then most if not all of us
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:57 AM - 4zone: sdh-It's tough to figure how GM's rate talent, internally and draft prospects. Guess that's what half the fun is, trying to figure out TT's brain.
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:58 AM - Pokerbrat2000: We should get almost another $1M in savings when we let Masthay walk
Mar 14, 2016 at 10:59 AM - Ace: Apparently he is walking away from multiple "very nice deals" to retire including one from the Packers.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM - Ace: So I retract my earlier comment and this now becomes a need. I was basing my earlier comment on we don't really know what the Packers mindset was on him but apparenlty they wanted him back
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:02 AM - Ace: Maybe now we'll "trade" for Wilkerson lmao
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:03 AM - Pokerbrat2000: guessing they were drafting at least 1-2 DT's no matter what Raji did
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:03 AM - 4zone: Raji money was obviousy in the Pack's plans but now opens up other options that they might not have considered before. I still think they are set with who they want to sign inhouse. Maybe they save the cash for OL next year.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:03 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL Ace.....stop looking at your Twitter feed on Wilkerson!
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:04 AM - tynimiller: Raji looking to retire??? Latest news circling
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:04 AM - Pokerbrat2000: read up Tyn
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:04 AM - tynimiller: dang just noticed. official then?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:04 AM - Wynnebeck: Didn't they sign Guion back for this purpose though? To fill in?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:04 AM - Pokerbrat2000: if you Googled it 15 minutes ago, nothing....now it fills a page
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:05 AM - Pokerbrat2000: my guess is they were ready to move on from Raji, unless he signed a cheap deal
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:05 AM - Ace: I'm gonig to start that rumor Poker LOL
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:06 AM - sdh09e44: im upset about it lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:06 AM - sdh09e44: I wanted him back so we could just draft Lbs
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:06 AM - sdh09e44: and he was a solid locker room guy

Mar 14, 2016 at 11:07 AM - 4zone: How many Packer in-house FA's are gone now?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:07 AM - tynimiller: Yup, this does mean a DL in the 1st round may make the most sense...since no savior at TE and ILB is going to be there at our pick
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:08 AM - Ace: Hayward, Raji, and Tolzien by my count
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:08 AM - sdh09e44: lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:09 AM - sdh09e44: damn
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:09 AM - sdh09e44: its on espn bottom line.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:11 AM - Wynnebeck: Man this FA has been nothing short of a slow motion train wreck.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:12 AM - 4zone: What's the guess on Starks? Think he likes his chances at a SB in NE or GB?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:12 AM - Ace: I don't know that's it's been much different than any others to be honest. Guys going out and none coming in. Where's the difference?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:14 AM - Pokerbrat2000: same story as last year pretty much......you sign some of your own, let a few go and draft the rest
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:14 AM - sdh09e44: andddddd the packers cardinals game is on NFL network
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:14 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I still see Kuhn and Starks back in GB, but who knows.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:15 AM - sdh09e44: Jake Ryan shouldve had a pick. Really hope the kid can improve in pass coverage. Hes gonna have to now since it doesnt look like a MLB will be drafted early
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:16 AM - 4zone: One problem with staying clear of FA is the tendency to have young, inexperienced teams with less leadership than teams with more veteran players.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:16 AM - Green and Gold: Raji retiring
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:16 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I like Jake Ryan.....the kid has some speed and smarts, give him time
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:16 AM - Green and Gold: Didn't see that coming.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:16 AM - Wynnebeck: It just makes you wonder, what pieces is TT going to add in the draft to help our chances at the SB? This is THE year to make a push and it just seems like we have so many holes to fill.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:16 AM - Green and Gold: Thanks for the memories, BJ!
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:17 AM - Pokerbrat2000: 4zone.....problem with that is you are saying guys like Suh, Bennett, etc. are good team influences just because they are vets
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:17 AM - Vltrophy: Raji thinking about retirement
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:18 AM - 4zone: I think this year's draft and next season will be the preparation for a 2018 SB run. If we can get that upgrade at TE and ILB I expect they will take a two seasons to reach real threat level.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:18 AM - Vltrophy: Hope he enjoys it & saved his $
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Pokerbrat2000: didn't we make a SB run the past few years?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Wynnebeck: 2018!? Are you kidding me!? We have the easiest schedule in the league this year. Why would we be pushing for 2 years from now when Rodgers is hitting 35-36?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Lacy has to be excited about Raji leaving, more food at the training table!
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Green and Gold: We shouldn't stress too much about GB's needs and the inactivity of Ted. Packers are in better shape than most think.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Wynnebeck: Boooo! Bad joke Poker!
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:20 AM - 4zone: pb2k-Not at all. Obviously there are the Reggie White's out there and then there are the cancers. No one is saying sign the cancers just because they are vets. Your smater than that.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:20 AM - ThePerfectBeard: Really kind of depressed with this news. I always liked Raji and I was hoping someone would give him a nice contract to finish out his career
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:20 AM - Wynnebeck: No more Raji truffle shuffle.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:21 AM - Green and Gold: I'll never forget the pick-6 against the Bears!
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:21 AM - 4zone: pb2k-I would not call it a SB run unless you make the SB. Anything less is just another playoff team.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:21 AM - Pokerbrat2000: right Zone.....but young guys can be good team leaders too.....nice to have some vets do the job, but some of them can be locker room poison
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:21 AM - Wynnebeck: sigh 2014 was sooo close. We would have won that year too.

Mar 14, 2016 at 11:22 AM - Pokerbrat2000: then only 2 teams a year make a run to the SB?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:22 AM - sdh09e44: Joe thomas cant be on the field next season
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:22 AM - sdh09e44: just cant happen
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:22 AM - Pokerbrat2000: call off the NFC and AFC Championship games
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:22 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I agree sdh....can't see Thomas or Palmer playing in 2016
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:24 AM - sdh09e44: pray Jake RYan makes a leap forward
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:24 AM - sdh09e44: is what we all have to do
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:26 AM - Green and Gold: Ryan just needed experience at the position.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:26 AM - 4zone: We're just seeing the purging that is part of draft and develop. Actually, it's part of any philosophy. The test comes when you see how the guys that are left and those that are drafted perform on the field next year.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:27 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL: Wood now reports: B.J. Raji does not rule out return to NFL in future, but will not play in 2016 season.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:27 AM - sdh09e44: Its just all we have to talk about in march lol. Is players
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:28 AM - Wynnebeck: Offense and the secondary I'm not worried about. It's our terrible run D that's going to break our backs again.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:28 AM - sdh09e44: but in reality, its plays not players. We have a lot of correct pieces in place here. Just gotta make the damn plays to win these playoff games that can go either way
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:29 AM - Wynnebeck: WAIT WE HAVE AN UPDATE RAJI IS TAKING A YEAR OFF BUT MIGHT COME BACK
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:29 AM - Green and Gold: John Kuhn will be in the Packer Hall of Fame one day, Time to give Ripkowski a shot.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:30 AM - Pokerbrat2000: http://www.packersnews.com/story/sp...4/packers-bj-raji-retiring-football/81770768/
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:31 AM - Pokerbrat2000: wonder what kind of trouble BJ is in? :coffee:
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:32 AM - Wynnebeck: ? Doesn't sound like trouble. Sounds like he's having commitment issues and I can understand why he wouldn't want to come back in he's not locked in mentally.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:32 AM - Wynnebeck: if*
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:33 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I was saying that tongue in cheek....you just never know.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:34 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Critical factor was health of his mother and aunt, he said
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:34 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I respect that
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:38 AM - Wynnebeck: Yeah that's fine. Family comes first.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:38 AM - Ace: Agree Poker.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:41 AM - Vltrophy: Raji not retiring just not playing this year according to ESPN
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:46 AM - Pokerbrat2000: What better place to make your comeback in 2017 then GB?
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:47 AM - Pokerbrat2000: cross one need off the free agency list in 2017 :whistling:
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:54 AM - Pokerbrat2000: starting to think our first 3 out of 4 picks in the draft will be on defense, while sneaking in a TE somewhere.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:55 AM - 4zone: 1 out of first 4 will be TE if they aren't all scarfed.
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:58 AM - Vltrophy: If we don't draft Henry I'm hoping for Hooper or Adams
Mar 14, 2016 at 11:58 AM - sdh09e44: tyler higbee is the call
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I like Vannett in the Packer scheme, but what do I know
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM - The program 61: i agree^
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:01 PM - The program 61: no i agree with higbee
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:02 PM - 4zone: I don't think Henry will be there in Rd2. It will be Hooper, Adams, Vannett or Higbee. 2 may be high for Higbee.

Mar 14, 2016 at 12:02 PM - Vltrophy: Forte said Packers,Patriots,Cowboys & Bucs were interested. He picks the Jets. Packers & Patriots were his best bets for a ring
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:03 PM - sdh09e44: henry to packers should only happen in round 2
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:03 PM - sdh09e44: no way in hell should he be the first rounder
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:04 PM - Pokerbrat2000: could see TT trading back into early second round for Henry + another pick
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:06 PM - sdh09e44: i wonder what that would take
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:06 PM - sdh09e44: our 2nd obviously
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:06 PM - sdh09e44: and what
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:07 PM - Vltrophy: Broncos have until tomorrow to match the fins offer for CJ Anderson
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:09 PM - Vltrophy: TT will draft someone in first rd. ILB or DT(billings).
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:10 PM - Favre>Rodgers259: We need to sign Knighton asap
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:11 PM - Ace: He was bad last year but I actually like that idea F>R. I read he's looking for a 1 year prove it type deal
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:12 PM - Favre>Rodgers259: Losing Raji and Neal....I doubt we can duplicate that production in the draft
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:13 PM - Favre>Rodgers259: Need a veteran presence in there.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:13 PM - Ace: Agree.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:14 PM - Bagadeez04: Raji is taking off this season whaaaat?
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:15 PM - tynimiller: Knighton would be a good stop gap...draft a DL as well and we will have a decent front.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:20 PM - 4zone: Neal not gone yet
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:20 PM - sdh09e44: we gotta keep neal IMO
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:21 PM - sdh09e44: just dont think we can draft a NT, ILB and edge rushing OLB to all come in and play a big role
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:22 PM - sdh09e44: gotta stay level at one spot.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:23 PM - Ace: Well if Perry can stay healthy, he and Peppers are a nice duo outside IMO. Leave Clay inside, not ideal but at least we know he can play there. NT is a must though if he doesn't sign anyone
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:23 PM - Ace: Perry has $62,500 reasons to be active each gameday so we'll see
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:35 PM - Ace: I guess what I'm saying is, I don't think it's as dire a situation as we think. It's not ideal I'll grant you all that but we'll be okay
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:43 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I agree Ace. We still don't have a complete picture on Barrington or Ryan. I've seen some pretty glowing reports on Ryan
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:47 PM - Favre>Rodgers259: Barrington gets a little bit of a pass for being hurt. But I still would like a 3rd or 4th rounder to light a fire under his ***.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:49 PM - Ace: I'd still be disappointed if a move for a veteran D-Lineman isn't made though, I want to be clear on that lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Ace: Because as someone pointed out earlier, they had money earmarked for Raji so he needs to spend that somewhere to fill that gap now.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Pokerbrat2000: No matter what, we need depth at DT and ILB. If a rookie out plays one of the current Vets, even better
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:51 PM - sdh09e44: terrence knighton?
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I would like to think he spent that on Perry lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:52 PM - Ace: I have a hard time believing the choice was between Perry and Raji on who to keep
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:52 PM - sdh09e44: had a bad year in washinton but a one year deal for him on the cheap would be fine
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:52 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Knighton definitely wants to prove himself, not sure about his attitude? Anyone? I know he suffers from periods of debilitating headaches.
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:52 PM - sdh09e44: why not
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:52 PM - Ace: I completely agree PB2K, I think it's more a matter of depth now as opposed to us being devoid of talent

Mar 14, 2016 at 12:53 PM - sdh09e44: agree ace
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:53 PM - Ace: Especially with Penell suspended now as well. That looks huge after the Raji news
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:53 PM - sdh09e44: i wanted rajo back for the depth. him and guion were a solid rotation
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:54 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Ryan ended the season pretty strong, he has a lot to learn, but I think he has the potential to be pretty good if given the chance
Mar 14, 2016 at 12:54 PM - Ace: You aren'tt he only one on Ryan that's for sure
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:02 PM - sdh09e44: imagine a ryan huge step forward and perry playing like a guy entering his prime at 26.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:03 PM - sdh09e44: just one of those things happening would be huge
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:06 PM - Pokerbrat2000: wait a moment......positive energy in the Shout Box? Say it isn't so! LOL
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:08 PM - Ace: It makes no sense to complain about it. No matter what we all wanted, he was never going to wow us with some huge move. Gotta think about what we have as opposed to what we need. Bottom line is this team is still really good.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:08 PM - tynimiller: Ringo's chance door just cracked open. From everything heard he is a good kid and hope he can grab this chance with Raji leaving
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:08 PM - tynimiller: Sounds like if work ethic and character made you a superstar he'd be one....just hope his skills have grown enough to contribute.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:14 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Ringo will be a Star :coffee:
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:15 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Packers did pursue Forte, but along with the Patriots, not very hard.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:21 PM - easyk83: Well we get Boyd back this year
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:21 PM - easyk83: This could mean that Matthews has to stay inside, doubt we could find an ILB who takes on lead blockers like Clay does.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:23 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I hope not, Clay is better outside and he scares me in coverage.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:24 PM - Pokerbrat2000: would rather see him as an OLB with the occasional option of moving inside to confuse the offense.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:26 PM - Ace: I think the point with Clay is is we know he can play there.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:27 PM - Ace: I saw something also that we gave up 58 (I think) plays of 20+ yds this past year, and only a handful were against ILB's in coverage.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Ace: If you're interested go look for Ben Fennell on Twitter, he's had some really good stuff regarding our D the last couple of days.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:36 PM - Ace: For instance, Clay only had 1 sack (out of 6.5) from OLB in 2015.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:36 PM - Ace: The Packers gave up the 3rd most runs of 10+ yds in 2015.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:43 PM - Pokerbrat2000: But how many plays did he blitz from the OLB and the ILB positions?
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:43 PM - sdh09e44: on another note, I hope the freaking offense can get it together next season
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:43 PM - sdh09e44: still not sold on relying on adams janis and abby to get it done next season.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:44 PM - Pokerbrat2000: A more positive attitude will go a long way for that. I hope to see the offense getting a good chunk (or more then the little they normally see) of preseason work to regain their confidence
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:47 PM - Pokerbrat2000: has me nervous too sdh. Think I am the only one who wants to see James Jones resigned, at least to be sure of having 3 capable WR's come the season opener
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:47 PM - Pokerbrat2000: if one of the others beats him out, so be it.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:49 PM - Pokerbrat2000: but if we draft a WR in the first 5-6 rounds, one of the current players is most likely gone anyway.
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:50 PM - sdh09e44: you most defintely arent
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:50 PM - sdh09e44: i want jones back too. just have no idea who to cut loose
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:51 PM - sdh09e44: nelson cobb.......adams jones janis abby.......
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:51 PM - sdh09e44: monty
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:52 PM - sdh09e44: you cant give up on adams or monty, but can you rely on them?
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:53 PM - 7thFloorRA: I think Adams will be fine. Monty is still banged up until camp though.

Mar 14, 2016 at 1:54 PM - Ace: *Monty
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:58 PM - Pokerbrat2000: you can sign Jones without a lot of guaranteed money, you then cut whoever is the low man on the pole in August
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:58 PM - Pokerbrat2000: and that could very well be Jones
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:59 PM - Pokerbrat2000: if we were in rebuild mode, no doubt, you don't keep Jones. But after what we saw happen last year when Jordy went down, I like the security of a vet like Jones
Mar 14, 2016 at 1:59 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Had the Giants kept Jones, can't imagine our offense last year without him.
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:01 PM - Green and Gold: I can't help but think every other team in this division has improved themselves
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:02 PM - Pokerbrat2000: IMO Janis wouldn't even be in the conversation for next year if it wasn't for his special teams play.
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:03 PM - Pokerbrat2000: always seems to look like that G & G, but as we know, usually doesn't happen. Remember, the Bears still have Cutler.
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:03 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I see the Bears drafting Cutlers replacement this year in an early round
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:04 PM - sdh09e44: yea thats what im saying poker
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:04 PM - sdh09e44: gottakeep jones i think
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:04 PM - sdh09e44: as a backup plan
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:04 PM - sdh09e44: and hed be a solid 3rd wr. would love to see what he could do when hes not the main target with nelson back
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:05 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Won't be like he will be signing a contract not knowing that either
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:05 PM - sdh09e44: and your right, He wouldnt be poker. Wed all be writing off janis and saying whats the point of keeping him. abby too
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:05 PM - Pokerbrat2000: not the main target with the defenses #1 DB on him either
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:05 PM - sdh09e44: yea
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:06 PM - Pokerbrat2000: IMO Abby has more potential, but his concussion history doesn't bode well
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:06 PM - sdh09e44: and you have to think a wr will be drafted at some point. TT always does
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:06 PM - sdh09e44: a bunch of very intrguing guys with good height. Cayleb Jones, Tajae Sharpe, Derunnya wilson
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:06 PM - Pokerbrat2000: yes and with 6 on the current roster, Jones would be 7.....there won't be room for all of them
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:07 PM - Pokerbrat2000: would love to finally have a fast tall receiver
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:08 PM - sdh09e44: thats all of those guys lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:08 PM - sdh09e44: and i actually saw a mock where thomas from ohio state dropped into the 3rd round
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:09 PM - sdh09e44: him and jordy on the outside, cobb in the slot....thatd be beast
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:25 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Had we signed some FA defensive players, I would be all about grabbing a quality WR early, but between TE, ILB, DT and OLB....WR isn't high on my spending list
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:34 PM - Vrill: Yeah, my dream of us drafting Corey Coleman is shot at this point, lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:38 PM - Vltrophy: Only a handful of Packers have been resigned. Curious as to what TT is doing. Haven't heard anything in negotiations. 6 WRs on roster if TT does draft a WR I'd say rd 6 or 7
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:42 PM - Pokerbrat2000: TT and Ball are locked in a room deciding how to use the money they were offering Raji
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:51 PM - 7thFloorRA: TT signed a FA!! Ray Drew....whoever the hell that is. I don't think he has every played an NFL game and was on some practice squad last year
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:51 PM - 7thFloorRA: DE out of UGA
Mar 14, 2016 at 2:53 PM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL.....Pop the Champagne corks!
Mar 14, 2016 at 3:01 PM - Pokerbrat2000: A 6-foot-5, 275-pound pass rusher out of Georgia, Drew most likely projects as an outside linebacker in the Packers' 3-4 base defense
Mar 14, 2016 at 3:01 PM - Pokerbrat2000: in other words.....we have another project

Mar 14, 2016 at 3:03 PM - SoonerPack: I'd take Sterling Shepherd over Coleman every day of the week!
Mar 14, 2016 at 3:27 PM - Green and Gold: Thoughts on Zach brown as a Packer?
Mar 14, 2016 at 3:27 PM - Green and Gold: Hopefully the draft goes well.
Mar 14, 2016 at 3:47 PM - Vrill: I like Shep, Sooner. But I think Coleman might be better suited on the boundary in the NFL.
Mar 14, 2016 at 3:59 PM - Wynnebeck: TT FINALLY SIGNED SOMEONE WHOOO!
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:12 PM - Baked: Any guy with two 1 syllable names sounds like a football player, at least
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:28 PM - 7thFloorRA: There are actually some decent ilb options later in the draft. Scooby Wright and this cat out of WVU both are smaller guys but can cover which is all that is needed.
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:32 PM - Baked: Hell no to Scooby
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:33 PM - Vrill: Well, we have 6 picks in the first 4 rounds to play with. I hope TT makes the best of it.
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:35 PM - Wynnebeck: He wont lol
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:40 PM - 7thFloorRA: Don't hate on scooby!!! He was hurt last year but will be fine.
Mar 14, 2016 at 4:41 PM - 7thFloorRA: nick kwiatowski is the other guy I was looking at
Mar 14, 2016 at 5:18 PM - sdh09e44: Ray Drew.hes got the football sounding name alright haha
Mar 14, 2016 at 5:19 PM - sdh09e44: has amazing size too.I wonder if this means no Mike Neal though
Mar 14, 2016 at 5:23 PM - 7thFloorRA: He has only been on practice squads so TT can still keep his important stat of having only 3 or 4 players that have ever worn another nfl uniform
Mar 14, 2016 at 5:58 PM - adambr2: I doubt Drew has anything to do with Mike Neal but Neal isn't a guy we need back. Certainly not for $4M this time anyway.
Mar 14, 2016 at 6:07 PM - 7thFloorRA: I would rather see Neal back at 4 mil than perry at 5.
Mar 14, 2016 at 6:12 PM - MiamiBeachPacker: 1 mil of that 5 is tied to him being active for games
Mar 14, 2016 at 6:24 PM - 7thFloorRA: thats better i guess since he has injury issues
Mar 14, 2016 at 6:29 PM - Wynnebeck: Going by the actual deal, it was 2.5 mil base and 1.5 SB I believe for Perry
Mar 14, 2016 at 6:38 PM - longtimefan: So it's not really 5 mill per year? So, people didn't wait till all facts were in before assuming anything? Maybe Ted waited to hear about bj plans before committing to any real FA?
Mar 14, 2016 at 6:58 PM - Vltrophy: I think TT still needs to draft s NT since this guy hasn't played a snap yet. Add some depth
Mar 14, 2016 at 7:15 PM - 7thFloorRA: I think he goes heavy on 0-line picks this year. I doubt he wants to pay sitton and lang and bulaga is probably going to get hurt at some point.
Mar 14, 2016 at 8:29 PM - adambr2: What on earth difference does it make what part of Perry's contract is signing bonus or base? Its a 1 year deal. It's not like he's going to be cut before the season.
Mar 14, 2016 at 8:30 PM - adambr2: Also, if our entire off-season strategy was dependent on the plans of BJ Raji, it was a flawed plan from the start.
Mar 14, 2016 at 8:47 PM - Raptorman: In other news today, Ted Thompson woke up from his coma in time to sign a Free agent DE. Ted immediately slipped back into a coma after the signing. Doctors assume he will be awake by draft day.

Mar 15, 2016 12:37 AM - longtimefan: Still haven't heard how packers sign extra free agents with less than 15 in cap space...need to get sitton, Lang, and bakhitari extended before they hit in 2017
Mar 15, 2016 5:00 AM - desertdog55: lol, some things never change....we are already losing and the season hasn't started yet. PANIC....lol
Mar 15, 2016 6:18 AM - Ace: I wouldn't have Packers offseason any other way
Mar 15, 2016 6:19 AM - Ace: I'd rather feel like the sky is falling and be surprised than think I'm SB bound and be let down *cough**cough* bears fans
Mar 15, 2016 6:22 AM - Vltrophy: JJ out performed his contract & got a bonus of $251k. So if no one els signs him he's got that additional money
Mar 15, 2016 6:51 AM - Wynnebeck: Perry's contract has gone through and the Packers are now $15 mil under the cap. Looking like any chance for a decent FA signing is dead now.
Mar 15, 2016 7:39 AM - Ace: I'm curious Wynnebeck as to why you think that any chance of free agency is all of a sudden dead?
Mar 15, 2016 9:20 AM - adambr2: Longtime I wouldn't be surprised if they let one of Sitton and Lang walk...probably 8M a year each to keep both
Mar 15, 2016 9:53 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: TT would be a fool to let Sitton or Lang walk
Mar 15, 2016 9:54 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: That's why we need to be active in FA, we have no depth.
Mar 15, 2016 9:54 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: Our deepest position is....WR?
Mar 15, 2016 10:05 AM - SeahawkFan80: Actually TT did wake up from his coma...signed the player and the stress accumulated in his cranium.....forced him back into a coma.
Mar 15, 2016 10:11 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: 6'4 300 is not DE, that's DT. Someone needs to break it to this poor fella
Mar 15, 2016 10:22 AM - tynimiller: One of Lang or Sitton will walk and honestly will be the tough but smart thing to do. F>R...my opinion DBs is our deepest spot.
Mar 15, 2016 11:01 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: I would have to reserve my opinion for this time next year on that.
Mar 15, 2016 11:01 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: Right now I think our DBs are maybe at best a B-
Mar 15, 2016 11:02 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: Probably closer to a C+
Mar 15, 2016 11:03 AM - The program 61: lets win a superbowl this year and not worry who is here the year after that
Mar 15, 2016 11:03 AM - Ace: C+?? wow
Mar 15, 2016 11:03 AM - Favre>Rodgers259: I want a dynasty, not a ring every 10 years.
Mar 15, 2016 11:06 AM - The program 61: thats better then most teams though every 10 years
Mar 15, 2016 11:11 AM - Ace: How many different teams have won a ring in the past 10 years?
Mar 15, 2016 11:12 AM - Ace: Your expectations are unrealistic
Mar 15, 2016 11:29 AM - sdh09e44: our dbs are most certainly better than a c
Mar 15, 2016 11:30 AM - sdh09e44: a solid B without a doubt
Mar 15, 2016 11:31 AM - sdh09e44: and thats only cause they are young. Could be the leagues best group in 2 seasons
Mar 15, 2016 11:31 AM - Ace: I don't have proof of this but I think Sam is pretty underrated as well. He's not quite shutdown but a very solid CB
Mar 15, 2016 11:34 AM - sdh09e44: hes legit
Mar 15, 2016 11:34 AM - sdh09e44: he makes one of those picks vs arizona if he was not previously concussed. I strongly believe that
Mar 15, 2016 11:36 AM - Ace: Yep, agree
Mar 15, 2016 11:53 AM - Vltrophy: Patriots trading chandler jones to Arizona for a 2nd rd pick
Mar 15, 2016 11:55 AM - Vrill: http://www.circasports.com/posts/30...-recover-from-b-j-raji-retirement?a_aid=36676
Mar 15, 2016 11:56 AM - Ace: good trade for Arizona IMO
Mar 15, 2016 11:57 AM - Vltrophy: Patriots also get G Jonathan cooper
Mar 15, 2016 11:58 AM - Vrill: Arizona doesn't need to give away o line either. Lol. A couple years ago theirs sucked

Mar 15, 2016 at 12:02 PM - Vrill: was probably the worst OL i ever seen that year
Mar 15, 2016 at 12:10 PM - Green and Gold: I'd be pretty surprised if GB re-signed Barclay to be honest.
Mar 15, 2016 at 12:31 PM - Vltrophy: Broncos match Dolphins offer & retain CJ
Mar 15, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Ace: Dolphins offseason just keeps getting worse.
Mar 15, 2016 at 12:47 PM - C-Lee: lol at Dolphins
Mar 15, 2016 at 12:47 PM - C-Lee: Barclay was pure trash last season.
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:17 PM - Ace: Jared Cook visiting 1265
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:25 PM - Ace: Prototypical Ted signing if it happens. Will cost next to nothing & wont factor into comp picks
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:32 PM - sdh09e44: cook
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:32 PM - sdh09e44: hmmm
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:34 PM - Vrill: http://gnb.247sports.com/Bolt/Jared-Cook-who-wouldnt-cost-Packers-a-draft-pick-intrigues-44283942
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:34 PM - sdh09e44: why not
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:35 PM - sdh09e44: guy has shown flashes in miserable offenses. wonder how that could change with a great qb
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:36 PM - Ace: poor man's Jermichael but a potential game breaker in the right offense.
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:37 PM - Vrill: 12.5 ypc for his career. That is solid for a TE. plus hes only 28......so hes young still. he'd be a good pickup for us.
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:37 PM - sdh09e44: i was just thinking about finley though
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:37 PM - sdh09e44: what if he started off with the titans and rams
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:38 PM - Vrill: and hes a BIG target. 6'5 255
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:39 PM - sdh09e44: 4.5 40 too
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:40 PM - sdh09e44: 37 yard td highlight. against the packers lol
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:40 PM - sdh09e44: preseason tho
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:42 PM - brandon2348: Cook would kill it in our offense
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:43 PM - Ace: He was in yesterday apparently and left without a deal. Let's temper the excitement lol
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:48 PM - sdh09e44: yup
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:53 PM - C-Lee: Cook has brick hands though
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:54 PM - sdh09e44: so did jermichael
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:58 PM - C-Lee: I wouldnt mind a Cook/Richie combo is. Cook with speed, Richie with the hands.
Mar 15, 2016 at 1:58 PM - Ace: Apparently Ted inquired about Chandler Jones as well. I'm sure that conversation was short
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:02 PM - Ace: He offered a player and a lower pick
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:09 PM - sdh09e44: damn
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:09 PM - sdh09e44: that wouldve been sweet
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:10 PM - Ace: Have to assume it was Tretter and obviously a lower pick than a 2nd.
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:10 PM - sdh09e44: most likely something like that
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:11 PM - sdh09e44: im happy to keep our 2nd rounder though. Somebody legit can be had there
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:13 PM - brandon2348: i like that Listenbee kid out of TCU as a home run option to add.

Mar 15, 2016 at 2:18 PM - ThePerfectBeard: ****... I'm not sure I want Stone Hands coming in for a visit. He'll probably break out on the turf anyway
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:18 PM - ThePerfectBeard: as in allergic reaction
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:19 PM - Vrill: Cook can stretch D's down the seam though. great hands or not, his speed has to be accounted for by defenses. He can move for a TE.
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:20 PM - Vrill: plus hes never had Aaron Rodgers throwing to him, LOL
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:20 PM - Vrill: Cook has honestly had crap QB's throwing to him in his career
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:21 PM - ThePerfectBeard: This is all true. Just not that excited for it. I mean it hasn't happened yet, but if it does, it better be really cheap
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:21 PM - brandon2348: exactly, he is better by far then any TE on the roster
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:21 PM - Vrill: 3-4m a year i bet
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:22 PM - Vrill: knowing TT, probably be a 1-2 year deal max.
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:26 PM - ThePerfectBeard: I'd say he's faster, but might not have better hands
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:26 PM - ThePerfectBeard: At this point I'm willing to take the chance on anyone with some speed though lol
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:33 PM - C-Lee: ^ my thoughts exactly
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:35 PM - brandon2348: I say sign him. He gives speed down the middle of field. Don't see any TE's in draft with his upside in our offense
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:38 PM - brandon2348: and RR doesn't exactly "streak down the field"
Mar 15, 2016 at 2:57 PM - Vrill: RR is an excellent 2nd TE though. Lets be honest about that.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:02 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I like RR for 20 yards and in........Cook would be a nice addition to stretch the rest of the field
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:04 PM - Green and Gold: Cook would be an upgrade over Quarless.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:04 PM - Wynnebeck: Man like I don't know. I saw the tweets and my heart leaped in my chest as the chance to have a veteran seam stretching TE but if he's as bad as you guys make him sound then I'm not so sure. Rodgers throwing to him would definitely help him though and I'm sure he would be thirsty to prove himself.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:04 PM - Green and Gold: QB play makes a huge difference for a TE, ask Dez Bryant.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:06 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Quarles won't be back
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:07 PM - Pokerbrat2000: Rodgers will make Cook an even better TE
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:11 PM - Wynnebeck: Plus with Sirmans being Cook's former co-worker, he'll be able to help us out too. Actually I like this the more I think about it. Taking Cook would free us from an immediate need in the draft and give us a chance to look at more ILB, OLB, and OL guys.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:20 PM - Vrill: and DL...
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:21 PM - Wynnebeck: Ah true true
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:21 PM - Wynnebeck: Man we need a lot of guys :(
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:23 PM - Vrill: with Cook, IMO DL/ILB become more important.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:46 PM - Vrill: I heard Ted accidentally butt dialed Jared Cook. False alarm, false alarm.
Mar 15, 2016 at 3:46 PM - Vrill: (joking)
Mar 15, 2016 at 4:03 PM - longtimefan: He visited yesterday
Mar 15, 2016 at 4:03 PM - longtimefan: Ian Rappaport says he is the #1TE fa
Mar 15, 2016 at 4:07 PM - Vrill: So he left town?
Mar 15, 2016 at 4:15 PM - Pokerbrat2000: I hope he left Town wearing a GB #89 Jersey, that is if there is not intention of resigning James Jones :D
Mar 15, 2016 at 4:32 PM - Vrill: Hey Poker, read my Deion Jones post.
Mar 15, 2016 at 5:09 PM - SoonerPack: Please sign Cook. Please. I know he hasn't been an all pro or anything but the man can and will stretch the field. He's never had a QB like 12 throwing to him and I could easily see him having a 60/700/8 type season. Make this happen TT!
Mar 15, 2016 at 5:29 PM - brandon2348: Your exactly right Sooner. I had him as the no.2 TE to get behind Ladarius Green

Mar 15, 2016 at 5:39 PM - Wynnebeck: Man I really hope TT and Ball are crunching the numbers as we speak.
Mar 15, 2016 at 5:53 PM - Pkrjones: Why do some of you want Jared Cook as a Packer? If we need more dropped passes just keep Davante Adams in the game
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:00 PM - Green and Gold: The mere threat of him alone could be a help.
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:01 PM - Green and Gold: Cook lets GB stretch the field.
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:03 PM - Pkrjones: Doesn't matter if he's streaking, open, up the middle if he drops the ball.
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:14 PM - brandon2348: exactly, having his presence opens things up on the outside. It's not like the guy cant catch. The knock on him has been "work ethic" but look at the Rams as an organization and the QB's they have had. Sometimes a change of scenery such as Green Bay and the most accurate QB in the NFL can change some of his deficiencies
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:17 PM - brandon2348: Finley had drops but the offense was better with him in there.
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:19 PM - Pkrjones: I'll "get behind him" if he's signed... but would prefer a reliable pass-catching TE. Maybe with AR firing strikes he'll minimize the drops
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:38 PM - sdh09e44: if he signs it will be for cheap
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:39 PM - sdh09e44: if he was a guy with perfect hands who never drops the ball, has great speed and runs great routes, then he wouldn't be available
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:41 PM - sdh09e44: he will be cheap because he inst perfect. but that doesn't mean he cant help us or that he doesn't have potential to be a serious threat in our offense.
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:44 PM - TeamTundra: Former Vikings WR Mike Wallace throwing Teddy B-water under the bus.
Mar 15, 2016 at 6:50 PM - Wynnebeck: Lol I saw that. Going from Teddy to Flacco? I'd question that change of quality myself lol
Mar 15, 2016 at 7:12 PM - 7thFloorRA: Teddy seems like a good dude, good teammate, hard worker. Why rip him?
Mar 15, 2016 at 7:35 PM - SeahawkFan80: Thought the bus retired......oh...that bus....nevermind. :p
Mar 15, 2016 at 8:16 PM - SoonerPack: 7th...because he has some Jennings in him...
Mar 15, 2016 at 8:36 PM - Raptorman: Most of Bridgewaters throws to Wallace were over Wallace's head, which make one wonder, is it Teddy's accuracy or did Wallace slow down? :)

Mar 15, 2016 at 9:06 PM - SoonerPack: Wallace is a one trick pony. Run fast and put your hand up. I think Teddy is going to be a good one as much i want to believe otherwise. Not great, but plenty good enough to cause a few headaches.
Mar 16, 2016 at 5:14 AM - Jz3: Junior Gallette 1y 4m, Perry 1y 5m What is wrong with that picture right there. One player can get 20 sacks a year the other can get 5 sacks a year.
Mar 16, 2016 at 5:15 AM - Jz3: If you take TTasa scout and average everything a GM does TT grades out as below average
Mar 16, 2016 at 5:16 AM - Jz3: If TT didn;t have the best QB in the NFL he would be fired and never have a winning team.
Mar 16, 2016 at 5:47 AM - tynimiller: If "ifs" and "buts" were candies and nuts it'd be Christmas all year long...
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:10 AM - Ace: If grandma had a d***, she'd be grandpa
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:10 AM - Ace: And oh btw who drafted the "best QB in the NFL"? Game, Set, Match
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:14 AM - Ace: Point me to the year in which Gallette had even remotely close to 20 sacks, I'll wait
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:15 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL....I "love" those who say "If TT hadn't drafted the best QB in the NFL he would suck". This theory assumes that TT would have done everything the same and had a below average QB behind center the past 10 + years.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:16 AM - Pokerbrat2000: One might as well also conclude that if TT wasn't hired, the Packers would have sucked.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:16 AM - Ace: It's such a worthless argument that's made constantly. Enrages me. If he inherited Aaron it's have some merit at least.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:18 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Even had TT only inherited him, I don't agree. TT has built the team around AR and pretty good teams at that. Some people are only happy if you win it all every year
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:18 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Same people probably say Belichick is only great because of Brady
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:19 AM - Ace: Just goes to show how thin that arguments against TT are getting. I can understand ragging on some of his drafts, and that he needs to be better if that's the only approach he's going to take
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:20 AM - Ace: bottom line is you can't argue with the guys success overall, you just can't
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:21 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Agreed, we can all disagree on his picks or not grabbing more FA's but at the end of the day, most of those are after the fact hindsight arguments, the proof is his record and where the Packers end up every year under TT
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:23 AM - Ace: Stuff happens and this isn't an excuse, it's purely a fact that he's had some horrible luck with injuries. Collins and Finley at the forefront of that
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:23 AM - Ace: On the flipside he's also been very average to below average in the 1st Rd overall so it goes both ways
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:28 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I agree and I am not a great study of what other teams do, but just guessing, there aren't a lot of GM's hitting consistently on draft picks. I think the thing that makes TT special is his ability to see talent in younger cheaper players. Players who may not be Pro Bowl right away, but help maintain a balanced team across the board, while staying safely under the cap.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:29 AM - tynimiller: There isn't...honestly TT hits more I bet if someone truly analyzed the crap out of drafts better than most.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:30 AM - tynimiller: The sheer number of guys drafted or UDFA acquisitions still on our roster or that have went on elsewhere (like Tramon or others) is astonishing really.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:30 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Agreed tyn and when you consistently read that TT is known as one of the better drafters, you have to assume people saying it are basing it off what the league is doing as a whole.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:32 AM - Pokerbrat2000: I'm excited for 2016, in my mind could we have used a top notch FA ILB and TE, sure. But TT must think he can save some future cap for next year and fill those spots with current players, draft picks or low end FA's.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:33 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Lots of moving parts in a Roster and the big picture is something most of us, me included, may not fully see.
Mar 16, 2016 at 6:58 AM - tynimiller: If Jared Cook gets pulled in, I think that is a FA I will view as a smart, good and yet still conservative.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:04 AM - Jz3: Ace I work for the Packers and can tell you TT is not responsible for drafting Rodgers many other people had a big part in that.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:05 AM - Jz3: Two people are responsible for the Packers drafting Rodgers and both of them are no longer here.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:18 AM - 4zone: If Cook is signed, I see a higher probability of a trade up on Rd. 1 Nowhere near a lock, but an uptick.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:18 AM - Ace: Were you in the war room? You have absolute knowledge that TT had absolutely nothing to do with drafting Rodgers? I'm sorry I don't believe it, not for 1 second
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:19 AM - Pokerbrat2000: name the 2 people
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:21 AM - Pokerbrat2000: Packers signing Cook would allow them to go after ILB, DL and OL in first 3 picks
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:34 AM - 4zone: PB2K- I think you could also throw an OLB in that mix as well. Definately all four would be address in 1st 4 rounds along with a RB.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:36 AM - 4zone: Who do you see us 'realistically' getting at ILB, DT and OT?
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:37 AM - sdh09e44: ragland or lee if they are there
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:37 AM - sdh09e44: billings or jason spriggs...hopefully spriggs in the second round

Mar 16, 2016 at 9:38 AM - 4zone: sdh-I don't see Lee falling to us. Perhaps someone worth a trade up for?
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:38 AM - sdh09e44: but ive heard TT likes the guy from South Carolina state, Jason Hargrove who is a DT
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:38 AM - 4zone: I also think Spriggs is rising too far to get in the Second, maybe not even in the 1st.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:38 AM - sdh09e44: neither do I
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:39 AM - sdh09e44: jaylon smith injury killed us
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:40 AM - 4zone: In the case of DT, I think it depends on who other GM's like or don't like. Also, how deep a run to they make at DT ahead of us...The deeper the run there and at OT, the better option at LB's there will be.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:40 AM - sdh09e44: which brings us full circle, shouldve just signed Trevathan or offer Brandon Marshall something very early on day 1, so maybe Denver wouldbe let him go over trevathan or jackson
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:42 AM - sdh09e44: yea of course, the draft is so unpredictable as always. guys who get picked mid-late in the second are guys who easily could've been first rounders. Always comes down to GM preference
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:42 AM - 4zone: I actually think the best for us is for Lee and Ragland to go before us. I also think perhaps OT will go deeper than anticipated since others might think they can get their DT in round 2. This may leave us Rankin or Billings but no where near a lock for either.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:43 AM - Pokerbrat2000: LOL Jz3 must have had to go fetch donuts for TT before he could tell us who the 2 guys responsible for Aaron Rodgers being a Packer was
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:43 AM - 4zone: I think we can get as good if not better in rounds 2 or three at LB than we could have in FA and a lot cheaper.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:43 AM - sdh09e44: defintely
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:43 AM - sdh09e44: guys like scooby wright maybe
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:44 AM - Pokerbrat2000: This just in.....Packers traded their first 4 picks to Houston for JJ Watt
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:44 AM - Pokerbrat2000: :D sorry....didn't know if I was going to be around on 4/1
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:44 AM - 4zone: Vigil, Martinez, Beniquez or Schoebert would be nice. Fresh legs, with guys used to having to prove themselves. Great attitudes and upsides.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:45 AM - sdh09e44: and if lee and ragland are gone, maybe that means leonard floyd or spence, or Dodd can be had at 27
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:45 AM - Ace: It's a bunch of B.S., or he's doing it to get a rise out of us all. If the latter is the case, mission accomplished
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:45 AM - 4zone: Add a Rankin, Reed or Billings and you have a good start on 'D'
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:46 AM - sdh09e44: yea man
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:47 AM - sdh09e44: i personally want Billings, Guy is ruthless out there, hes a monster
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:47 AM - sdh09e44: very physical
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:47 AM - 4zone: For OT, I'm liking a guy like Cole Toner or Willie Beavers (got to love that name). Guys who don't have to start right away and can develop into solid backups.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:48 AM - sdh09e44: seems like we may have to develop an OT
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:48 AM - sdh09e44: just in case sitton or lang are out the door after next year
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:49 AM - sdh09e44: which actually shouldnt happen since TT didnt sign anyone big this year so lang or sitton money will be there
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:50 AM - 4zone: I dont think there will be a problem getting a change of pace RB with one of our 4th round picks.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:50 AM - sdh09e44: tyler ervin baby
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:51 AM - sdh09e44: maybe wendell smallwood from west virginia. maybe Drake from bama
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:51 AM - 4zone: I expect an OG pick this year. Maybe more important that OT. With Taylor signed, I think they are hoping he can develop so they ony have to sign one OG next year. If Cody Whitehair were available say in round 2(long shot), you could bet we would take him.
Mar 16, 2016 at 9:57 AM - 4zone: Anybody out there like Kentrell Brothers at ILB?
Mar 16, 2016 at 10:02 AM - Vrill: DT Andrew Billings just ran a 4.9 40 at his pro day. That is fast for a man his size.....
Mar 16, 2016 at 10:03 AM - 4zone: We will have to trade up to get him.
Mar 16, 2016 at 10:05 AM - 4zone: He may be worth a 1&2 but that still might not be enough and with a lot of other guys of value left, probably not in TT's vocabulary.
Mar 16, 2016 at 10:05 AM - Vrill: I don't think so. Hes projected at the end of the 1st, early 2nd.
