It's really interesting how you have interpreted what Rodgers, a guy that has more money than probably the whole Packer FO combined, as well as most of the players, is doing to that same FO, his teammates and you, a Packer fan. Who is sticking it to who?

I'm sorry, I don't understand your point. I just said that Rodgers will have input on any potential trade destination. I'm not super interested in who's sticking what to whom. I'm just interested in the Packers being as good as possible. Rodgers playing for the Packers is the best outcome. Second best outcome is accepting the best trade deal for Rodgers and not accepting less just to try and screw him.

Agree, but we will have to look for the best deal. I don't know what kind of no trade clause there is or if there is even one. So then again it would come down to Rodgers retiring and The Pack still holding his contract rights. I feel strongly that Rodgers wants to play, but if it is with a team w/o a decent chance; then I could see him retiring or come back to The Pack hat in hand.

Him retiring is probably the worst outcome for the Packers. At least with a trade the Packers hey something productive. Retirement just frees up cap space at a time when there's nobody to spend it on except, maybe Alexander?

"Hello darkness, my old friend". Pretty much sums up 2021 for Packers fans
Gute singing
I bet Rodgers won’t be “Feelin’ Groovy” about it when we’re kicking him down the cobblestones”
Ba da da da da da da, feelin’ groovy

Rodgers singing...response
“I got no deeds to do
No promises to keep
I’m dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its PETALS on me
Life, I LOVE you
All is groovy”

Just as I suspected nothing of value was said.

Something about the people or something...

Will admit he did say, whether he means it or not it wasn’t about the pick of Love. At least now we have confirmed from him there are issues 100% and the way he avoided the “are you demanding a trade” doesn’t signal to me he is but also means that door is definitely a valid option in the hallway if you will in his eyes.

He had a chance to down play the trade stuff..

He didnt say he loves Gute.

So I guess we can figure out his issue is with Gute and how he runs things
At least now people can shut up about it was all Love

Is the glass half full or half empty?

People above saying Rodgers on Kenny Mayne's show didn't say he loved Gutey and wanted to stay with the Pack.

Writer Peter Bukowski said the following:

Rodgers message is very cryptic, but obvious. He doesn't feel like he is being treated like one of the people that helped build the franchise. While very symbolic and clever in the way he phrases it, he isn't giving the organization or its fans very much credit as to how they view his accomplishments. Sounds more like an intelligent child listing all the reasons he is alone in his room pouting after not being hoisted up on the families shoulders after winning a spelling bee.

For those who can't find it online....

Gute clearly isn't a man of character if Rodgers is this concerned. There is something troubling here. Rodgers has been cream of the crop in Green Bay. What is Brian doing?

He said wrench again..

So im leaning towards he felt (either told or implied or he just assumed) after 2021 they (packers) would push for love to take over.

That is the key for me...I would ask him that exact question.... Did Gute or any packers rep tell you after 2021 you were gone

If his answer is no. Then he needs to suck it up

Please explain your rationale behind your absolute statement of "Gute clearly isn't a man of character if Rodgers is this concerned."

Hard to know what to think. He certainly didn't slam the door on returning, but philosophical differences are hard to come back from. I'm encouraged by him invoking some names of the past. If he had checked out I don't think he'd go out of his way to mention the legends of the organization. It's obvious there's an issue with Gute and maybe Mark though.

Weird. My takeaway from that was Rodgers is a ********* and he has 50% alien DNA.

So my thinking from Rodgers comments.

There are serious fractures with he and management. That's obvious. He made it a point to say that he loves his teammates, loves the coaching staff, and loves the fanbase, but then went on to criticize the culture isn't really to his liking. He can only be talking about Murphy and Gutekunst.

He said it was never about drafting Jordan Love, but that he "threw a wrench" into the plans that the Packers set into motion last offseason. So that leads me to believe that Rodgers was either told, or he felt, that the Packers were setting a plan in motion to move on from him. And he complicated all of that by winning the MVP, and that the current situation is "spill out" from that.

So I do in fact believe that some or a lot of it is about Jordan. His comments could've strictly been pro-Love in the sense that he's trying to protect him from some of this media frenzy.

Again, my main takeaways is that Rodgers regained some leverage with the Packers after his performance last season, he's exerting some of that leverage, and he and Gutekunst most definitely do not see eye to eye and there are some real serious issues that I'm not sure can be worked through.

He also said "it's been an incredible 16 years". Almost like a goodbye comment. Could be nothing though.

As an aside, Mayne asked "do you find it's strange that the people have been conditioned that management is always right? The players are bad guys because they stand up for themselves so management must be right because loyalty to the team is paramount. " This to me is a great question.

Rodgers could go strangle a puppy and you'd find a way to defend him....clear out the biasness in your eyes.

Rodgers is one of the best damn QBs ever to lace up....he is not one of the best humans though, and even a big fan like me can see that clearly from a mile away.

Couple of things here.
1. It's about the people. Seems that he is not treating people very nice. It is a subjective matter. His family? The fans? His teammates? It's about the people huh?
2. This is a business. Go to a different team in the NFL and see if they're about the people. This franchise has made Rodgers a rich man. Sure, he could have done it at a different team in the NFL. Regardless, Green Bay has paid him well and the fans have treated him well. Remember the MVP chants Aaron. It's about the people huh?

As I watched it a second time I think Aaron strategically spoke directly to Jordan Love and how much he has enjoyed him - Jordan Love from all reports is impossible to dislike, high class individual....he could adore Jordan and not hold any of this against him, but the vast wedge was driven in by the pick of the guy he likes. The Love pick is different than Love the person is kinda how I took it.

He also said "it's been an incredible 16 years". Almost like a goodbye comment. Could be nothing though.

No lie, this caught me cold in my tracks as I watched.
