I'm gonna just float this out there because it is what I believe: If Rodgers is on our roster by the 15th pick tonight this team is heading back to the 80's starting from that moment on. If we keep a QB that doesn't wanna be here who's to say he's professional enough to play well through the rest of his contract. If the QB gives up why wouldn't the rest of the team? And from there it's a snowball effect.

Team up a 33 year old past his prime WR with a 37 year old past his prime QB AND a 4th? Now I know why I have a migraine

Was somewhat tongue in check just given how fluid the situation is, the only way I see Rodgers sticking is if they get rid of Love, genuflect at the altar of Rodgers to ask for forgiveness and get him new toy(s) to play with.

Then again we could have SF's #3 pick tonight, draft Mac Jones and really blow up twitter.

IF we don't move him or Love, this is just going to cause chaos internally. No statement or number of pressers attempting to appear otherwise will hide the fact it is bad internally.

I do not in a million years want Love over Rodgers to start week 1...but if trying to move Rodgers elsewhere is the ONLY option at this point as it seems is the claim - then you do it, you thank Aaron and say you wish him well and thank him for all the years.

If we are trading I'd do the Jets....get that 2nd and more, then the 2nd is moved from a team that needs a QB for even more.

Geez some of you guys have HORRIBLE Skip Bayless level takes, but it really isn't that surprising since a contingent of this site has bent over backwards trying to justify the Jordan Love pick.

I have no issues with Rodgers wanting to move on. The Packers front office has gotten 2 SB's out of top 7 level QBs in NFL history.... 2

This says all you need to know about the caliber of front office post Ron Wolf that this franchise has suffered through. This franchise should have been the NE of the NFC... hell I'll take PIT of the NFC, and the fact that some on this site continually don't hold the FO feet to the fire is weird and cringe

Go with Jordan Love week 1, take Trask in Round 2 (Yes a reach but he won't be there by round 3) because we will need a 2nd qb to get us through the year and if Love falls on his face after year 1, you try Trask...by 2023 you have either Love who is awesome, and can trade Trask...or you cut Love while you have Trask who is awesome.

I'd prefer SF's 3rd, Jimmy G (to play while Love keeps learning), and Aiyuk. Draft Pitts at 3 (best receiver in the draft) and have the team set up to make Love look a world beater in 2 years when he's starting. Aiyuk, Adams, Aaron Jones or Dillon, and Pitts would let this offense do wonderful things while propping up Love and helping Gute look like his dumba$$ decision to draft Love was only kinda ridiculous.

jhawk008 he's had Davante Adams Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley's whole careers. He had MOST of Gregg Jennings' career. He's had the best secondary last year or at least the best CB in the league. He's had the best O-Line in the league multiple times, yet with any or all of this talent he hasn't even BEEN TO a 2nd Superbowl. Yes some of this is on the front office, but some of it is on Rodgers' "moxie". I need a QB with more of it!

I need to know by the end of 2021 whether Gute is football Einstein, or a blithering idiot. If Rodgers is gone I need to go with Love this year. The rest of what you say I love.

My guess is Rodgers would say he would just retire. He wants to go where he wants to go so, he holds some of the cards.

Honestly, unless we get a top 5, maybe top 10 QB, especially a younger one, then this is going to be a very bad result for us. Even then, unless it's Mahomes or Brady, he is not going to be as good as Rodgers.

We may not have a choice though. Are any of the top QB's in the league still looking to move, and if so, would that trade even be possible? I know a lot of QBs were looking to move this past offseason, but other than the Matthew Stafford trade, were any other big moves made at QB?

If we can't get a good QB replacement, I wonder if it is time to just blow everything up and start over/rebuild?

I don't understand this. Isn't Love the guy of the future? It's why I like the SF option. You can get good, young players on offense to make the QBs job easier while also getting a competent QB Jimmy G) to let Love play behind while he learns.

It really seems like Favre's and Rodgers' careers in GB could closely parallel one another. Both won a Super Bowl early in their careers, got close a few times afterwards but never won again, both had an uneven relationship with management later in their careers, and both might end up leaving after major issues with the GM in a year following an NFC Championship game loss to the eventual SB winners. Both the same age too. Now Gute just needs to trade Rodgers to the Jets to make it a full circle.

My hope is that Rodgers is trying to force something like this to happen.
it's his only play really. if it is in fact true. How on earth would the san fran trade have worked? what's jimmy's cap? he's due like a 25 million dollars this year in salary, that's us baby. and we'd have to clear how much just to get rid of Rodgers? probably close to the same. 20-30 million. SO GB would be looking at creating 40 million at least in cap space just to do this trade. It isn't happening.

Time is a flat circle. This could have been avoided if they dident get Love.

That was a dumb draft pick.

It's my understanding that contract monies owed can be negotiated, included dead cap. I think that changed like 6-7 years ago. That's just what I recall reading anyway. I'm certainly no expert and I could have misinterpreted the new rules, but I did read it in the CBA at one time. I need help HRE. lol

Give me Mac Jones and their 1st round pic next season and maybe a mid tier veteran starter, then they split every penny owed to him going forward. Let's roll!

I'm so tired of this Aaron drama in the media. I totally believe there are some truths behind all this.... but did they really have to ruin X'Mas?

If you draft a young QB then you're admitting that Love, one if the primary reasons you're being forced to trade Rodgers, was a mistake. Nobody is doing that cause if he does, any intelligent organization would fire him instantly.

If I'm the GM I give Rodgers a choice: play for the Packers (as he is under contract) or retire.

I would never give in to a player's demand to be traded.

Ooohhhh, my favorite kind of comment: the pro-management, anti-employee argument. It's like how everyone roots for the King and hates the serfs! How dare that player who's far better at his job than the GM have feelings that aren't helpful to MY team!!
