Phone Conversation between Gute and Aaron:

Gute: "So you want to play for the Packers now Aaron? Are you willing to tear up your old contract and play for vet minimum so we can hit the free agency market tomorrow and go all in?"

Aaron: "I was actually hoping you would rework it and make me the highest paid QB in the NFL. But give me a few weeks, I will contemplate what I would be willing to play for"

Aaron: "Gute? Are you still there buddy? Gute?"
Gute: “Aaron, what is taking so long? Don’t you remember promising a timely decision?

Aaron: “Yes, but you didn’t tell me you wanted to go another direction with Jordan, so it’s actually your fault for holding up the process. I’ll get back to you soon just stay tuned ok?”

Gute: “But wait … you came out of the Dark on Feb 22nd? Why did you wait until last week to decide? I thought you said the darkness would shed light on this. I’m glad the Sun doesn’t work on your schedule. Daylight Savings would put everyone 2 weeks behind!”

Aaron: “Did I tell you I’m immune to time change?”

Which is why I said that the Packers could cut Rodgers.
Apologies, I didn't read it that way. You replied to a post that said AR's options were to accept a trade or retire, and you said his 3rd option would be to enforce the contract, which I in no way took to mean that the Pack could cut him.

No worries, was a couple of posts. Someone was questioning him "playing for the Packers", if the Packer said they didn't want him to play for them. The Packers only way to prevent Rodgers from enforcing his contract is to trade or cut him. The Packers cannot force Rodgers to retire.

Regardless of his reasons for wanting to stay in GB. It doesn't change what I said. It's always seemed to be very important for him to stay, play, and finish in GB, where he started. Whether it's to feed what you consider to be his insatiable ego and selfishness, or because he is genuinely thankful for the opportunity to play for a historic franchise and small city of GB and it's fans, or something in between, it still doesn't change the importance of it for him.

It's not an easy decision. I doubt any player that is near the end of their career is judging Rodgers as harshly as some fans who've never faced that decision.

Most people don't get that luxury...it is what it is but what it is, is eerily similar to Favres waffling at about thr same point in life

Rodgers to Jets is official according to nfl radio
Mike Heller and The Game (97.3) don't agree with Trey Wingo, saying "It isn't done until it is done."

Ian Rapoport says nothing has happened

Wingo got 4.2M views of his tweet. If nothing else, he got a lot of peoples attention.

Pretty funny listening to Heller & Bill Schmid on The Game talking about the tweet and the "need" for people to be the first to report something, whether it is factual or not.

This whole "legal tampering period" or whatever they're calling it these days is so funny. When you have deals getting announced two minutes after the "legal window" opens...why even bother with the charade at this point?

With that said on one hand I'm sure GB more or less has contingency plans in place for just about every possible Rodgers outcome...but at the same time it's laughable to suggest Rodgers' waiting won't impact anything because the league year hasn't started yet or because we were outside the "legal window" or whatever. We all know teams have been working these deals out for days, weeks, if not months at this point.

It really seems like it is the Rodgers apologists that want people to believe that having to wait until the Official Start of the New League year for Rodgers decision doesn't effect anything that the Packers are doing.

That's just wrong IMO. Exactly who do you mean by "people"? You are the first and only one I have seen refer to him that way.

They can reveal themselves if they wish, or not. You can say it's wrong, but it's true :)

I mean who else goes out of there way to find an internet meme take an unprovoked shot at another user who they claim they ignore? Later today he'll write another victim story about people responding to public messages he doesn't want them to respond to because it's "disrespectful" LOL

Call it what you want.

I imagine that Gute is having "fun" today. The first day that he can legally talk to Free Agents and he has to keep telling them: "Well we could be very interested in signing you. However, we have no clue what our financial situation is, can you hold off on making your decision until we hear back from one of our players, on what he plans to do. That should be by Wednesday or maybe next week, possibly before the draft or actually, whenever he decides that he wants to tell us. July 26th was the latest he has ever told us, so by then for sure. Thanks for listening, we really would like to add you and several other players, but there again, we won't know until we are out of the darkness."

The Packers don't need the situation with Rodgers to be taken care of to know about their financial situation. There's only an $8.7 million margin between him being on the roster and retired or traded before June 1. They can still make moves knowing that.

Yet you have felt the need to post every link to an article that mentions Rodgers in a negative way over the past few weeks.

Once again, the decision on Rodgers not having been finalized doesn't stop the Packers from doing business.

The main issue with all those fans having developed hatred for Rodgers is that they don't even have as much patience for news being announced as my toddler has for waiting for her birthday party to begin in the afternoon once she wakes up that morning. And just for the record, my 3-year old has close to no patience in situations like that at all.

There are just too many fans who believe they're entitled to know everything going on behind closed doors at 1265 based on their fandom of the team when in reality it's absolutely none of their business at all.

As the QB said a long time ago, R-E-L-A-X and wait for the decision to be announced. In the meantime you can be absolutely sure that the team's front office has made plans for each possible scenario and will be able to react accordingly however the situation with Rodgers plays out.

I’m totally relaxed. It’s gonna be what its gonna be. Just waiting for the next train, it’ll be along.

Guessing if they are it is about compensation. Especially if no other teams are interested in Rodgers, which it sounds like is the case. The Jets have the Packers by their collective nut sacks.
Which is why they should "let it slip" that they're open to "possibly" working with NFC teams & see if any come out of the woodwork & inquire. Doubt AR will like that considering NYJ have already signed Lazaard, though. Atlanta?
