Bulaga is out. MM expects Ty to play.
Shoot! You and I are in agreement on most issues and we're also not above a little friendly sparring from time to time. Not everyone understands that I guess.
Check six.All in good fun. I don't take offense to having my wingman take pot shots at me once in awhile.....keeps me awake for those Bogies.
Check six.
Let's not go there.I would have preferred if you had said "Check 3"
Let's not go there.
We could keep the troops entertained, though. Hmmmm...True....it's just a net loss for both of us if we do!
Two or more starters lost on any NFL offensive line would be really tough to cover. With two starters gone, not only are you talking about lesser skill level but also unit chemistry and cohesiveness. That's why I think Dallas is going to have some tough sledding this year. No way they go 13-3 imo.Given Campen's track record with developing guys, I am not ultra concerned about the long term state of the OL. But the loss of Sitton, Lang and Tretter in a 7 month time span has sure turned up the heat on Campen to get some of these guys up to speed fast. Having Taylor step up at LG and the signing of Evans has helped. But as things stand right now, any kind of injuries to 2 or more starters on the OL could be really tough to cover. After the final cutdowns, I won't be surprised to see TT and the Packers try to improve their depth and bring in another team's roster cut. Unless that is, in the next 2 games a few of the reserves step up.
A spot-on observation. A few years ago there was quite a lot of acrimony about Campen's job by quite a few of the "big wigs" on this forum. I think that he has done one heck of a job turning average linemen into starters and serviceable backups. There was good talk throughout the offseason about Murphy so I feel confident that he can step in to the lineup. He won't be Bulaga though. I may have been wrong about extending Bulaga's contract, but I still believe that he is certainly injury prone. We'll have to see how long he is out.Given Campen's track record with developing guys, I am not ultra concerned about the long term state of the OL.

I'll be watching, but i'm not rushing to any judgments. last year he looked as terrible as Spriggs has this year. in the little i've seen Spriggs, he's clearly regressed. I don't know why, but he certainly hasn't jumped like people thought he would. all offseason i heard about how much bigger he was and how excited everyone was to get him back on the field. Maybe he's thinking too much, and without being removed for an injury, all I can think of is that he's having a mental issue somewhere with his game. He got to play last year and he seemed to have a rough couple plays and then settle in and did ok. that hasnt' been the case so far this year.
Whoever steps up, we need them. back up OL needs to be able to step in and have us not even notice.
I was one of those ********* I was ready to show Campen the door along with ST coordinator Slocum.
Collins was an absolute steal. I never did like how that all played out, his agent telling the NFL "Draft La’el in the second or third rounds, or don’t draft him at all." The Cowboys end up with a projected top 20 guy as an UDFA. Wonder what would have happened if someone called their bluff and drafted him in the 7th?I would not be shocked if the Cowboys were actually better at RT this season. Collins was a nice prospect.
Agreed, but with the Packers past depth at OL, the performance drop off wasn't that dramatic. I fear right now, with the current depth, that drop off would be very noticeable. Two or more starters lost on any NFL offensive line would be really tough to cover. At least you got the Slocum part right You just needed to get into MM's ear about a year earlier. I will say this for the Special Teams coach, I wouldn't want that job. Right now, Zook is working with a pool of how many guys? Trying to figure out 6 special teams squads not fully knowing who will still be there after the final cutdown. I'm sure he has some say in guys he wants to keep, but ultimately he ends up having to put all those units together based on guessing who will be there and then fitting all the pieces together after that final cut.

you know what they say, 2 out of 3 ain't badAt least you got the Slocum part right You just needed to get into MM's ear about a year earlier.
We can always work on your math, but good to see you finally realize it was 3 LOLyou know what they say, 2 out of 3 ain't bad
He and his agent would have whined, made a big deal over the few points of rookie contracts that are actually negotiable, and signed the thing. What else could he do?
My opinion-- the murder investigation had more to do with him going undrafred than the agent's bluff.
Im basing this off of limited memory of the situation, but I think at the time almost everyone was pretty sure the kid was telling the truth, he had even taken a lie detector test to try and prove his innocence. But yeah, some of the risk was still there when the draft finally rolled around. I should have consulted with Mondio and between him and I, we might have convinced the Packers to make Collins Mr Irrelevant or close too.
I just don't like how an agent can make that kind of statement and it ends up panning out to an UDFA deal that was pretty high and a relatively large contract followed I believe the next year. Seems like circumventing the purpose of the draft.
Agreed, 31 teams missed out. At least the Cowboys got a big bite out of the Karma sandwich with Randy Gregory that same draft. I'm still waiting to see how Jaylon Smith ends up for them this year.I blame the teams. Collins had no leverage. They should have ignored the threat and drafted the player.
