Interesting. I also wonder if that DB room wasn’t emotionally impacted by us trading Rasul

Obviously the Packers can take the 2 years of cap hits, but if you look at his contract, they are massive hits. His contract appears to have been made to keep him around until at least through the 2025 season and even after that, we are talking about a $10.728M cap hit to purge him.IF they trade him, they'd have it all lined up in plenty of time for that to be a non-issue.

Almost anything is possible when it comes to contracts, but at what expense to the future roster? Packer fans are starting to realize that the approach to go all in during Rodgers final years, as well as doling out huge guaranteed contracts, comes with a cost.
I wish that was possible, but I can tell you with a 99% confidence level, it isn't happening, because no way would Jaire give that money back. Not to mention that I don't even think the NFL allows it. Once that money is paid out, guessing it is irreversible from the cap standpoint. If Alexander wants out he needs to refund about $20mil Signing Bonus to GB, then sign an extension with $20+mil SB with new team. Not sure the financial gymnastics, but similar would be required for his "freedom".

I've gotten to the point where the absurdity of the "actual money" these guys, as well as the teams make doesn't matter to me, since it hasn't changed, nor will it. As a fan, I prefer just looking at the cap. The cap determines what a team can do every year and while they can manipulate it, it can still handcuff them. As much as we all have been enamored by Russ Ball's cap magic pen, the huge guarantees, as well as shoving money out into an unknown future, is going to restrict what the Packers can do in the next few years. I'm also getting pretty tired of guys being paid millions for sitting on the bench or not even with the team. Has anyone seen Bahk lately? Does he even go to games or practices or is he just collecting money on a beach somewhere?
Sure it saves the Packers some money. $6.6M in 2024, $16M in 2025 and $18M in 2026. However, you have to pay someone to take his place and then figure out at what level that guy is playing VS what level JA is playing.**Misread your post - you understand it saves us money, sure "costs" us some but outside of only Jones and/or Bakh I don't see any other significant cap swallowing needed and I'd deem all worth it depending on a variety of factors.
I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. This is just a rumor at this point. I dont really believe it as Jaire is ultra competitive and doubt he would sit on his butt in the home stretch of a playoff race. No way he wouldn't be on the field with his teammates if he could be, even if he was upset with the team.

Bottom line for me. If he wants out of GB and he either is going to sit out, feign injury or play like a glass clown, then yet, take the hits and be done with him. However, if he can still play like a top CB in the league, he wants to play in GB and there isn't a long term injury worry, then you ride his contract out.
Yeah, it jives with my observations at games I have attended or watched on TV. One would think that if he was still around, they would be reporting on it and networks would be showing him on the sidelines as well.I messaged my contact awhile back on if Bakh was around ever or utilizing facilities...he replied "not allowed to comment"
Now I know he's provided some information before which wasn't necessarily "kosher" to share at the time, but to me that comment tells me no.
Again, we don't know that there is an issue, whatever might be the reason.Of all the items I listed, I lean to believe the team medical staff grossly misdiagnosed how severe his injury is/was as the largest piece of the pie. Stuff like this nothing is 100% and human medical error for sure exists.

Tells you something about Bahk for sure, not much of a team guy. He's still being paid and is MIA from practices and games. Wanna bet the Packers are still paying for his medical stuff, as well as all his "rehab facility" costs.
thanks. Ja’ is such a collectively calm dudeJaire's reaction...

I gotcha.Correct and the only reason he's been out abnormally long for someone that wasn't placed on IR was a misdiagnosis of the initial injury is all I was saying.
Yeah That’s exactly what #12 just did. He didn’t travel with the team last week so he could get several straight weeks of rehab in. I think high profile/impact guys deserve special attention or exception. Just my take. Now to be fair he doubled down on X about he is intending on coming back next year and he is VERY active and verbal on X about the Packers and congratulating varies players when they do well. I suspect he is choosing to rehab closer to home, which I am not opposed to personally. I also don't think a guy whose mobility may still be in recovery should be on the sideline like some of my friends believe he should be on gamedays as his ability to jump or avoid injury is grossly diminished perhaps.
I'd LOVE to see him with the team though.
Yeah, we don't know about Jaire. He's been out 5 weeks with a shoulder. That's a long time considering he's getting the best treatment available. I think something is damaged in that shoulder and he keeps re-aggravating it. It seems like no amount of physical therapy or treatment is going to work. It seems like Jaire is avoiding surgery, as well.Ja out again after seemingly back this week....even after it seemed stories and excitement of his return were occurring. I just don't understand missing this many games without going on IR....either massively misdiagnosed injury by our medical staff, or Jaire is in no rush to get back and stalling - or truth lies in both....
The Packers would need to win out for even a chance. That seems pretty unlikely. Not to count our eggs before they’re hatched but it’s crazy to think that with a win tonight we’d have a slight chance at sneaking our way to a NFC North title, albeit still needing a bit of help from Detroit.
Why should Bakh be around? He's out. I'm sure he's doing his due diligence back home.I messaged my contact awhile back on if Bakh was around ever or utilizing facilities...he replied "not allowed to comment"

I think the team has certain doctors and facilities they will pay for, but the player may opt for their own personal doctors and facilities. In that case, the player pays. Remember when Watson said he paid $10,000 out of pocket for hamstring specialists?Wanna bet the Packers are still paying for his medical stuff, as well as all his "rehab facility" costs.
There are these writers and show hosts that like to " create " news. So far Jaire has not addressed it and no reporter has directly inquired.Interesting. I also wonder if that DB room wasn’t emotionally impacted by us trading Rasul. Particularly the older players such as… Jaire.
I might be totally off base maybe he’s not disgruntled at all. However if that rumor is true that would be some logical reasoning
If they aren't he is still eligible for Wisconsin workman's comp and is also for some rehab costs.Wanna bet the Packers are still paying for his medical stuff, as well as all his "rehab facility" costs.
Doesn't JB prefer calling zone coverage while JA's strength is blanket mano a mano coverage?
