Not really very sophisticated about it either. Usually he will just rush an extra guy right up the gut and they often just get caught up in a big scrum. Does it have something to do with LaFleur? because we have been doing this a long time.Robert Saleh is patiently waiting.
Yep. I wonder about that matchup. Our team tends to match up with teams that lean running the ball. If we get Walker back we gave a stout group of Run Defenders. There are probably 6 to 8 teams that can at least mitigate the Eagles power Run. I believe the Packers are one of them. We are ranked #6 in Rushing D. The Eagles top out the better Run Defenses at #10.Was looking forward to going to LA. But it looks like cold, raucous Philly who will run the ball a lot more than the Vikings.
Isn’t he out for a knee injuryHe is not on IR and never was.
PCL. Should’ve been back a few weeks ago so it’s very concerning. Although if they thought he was done they wouldn’t use a roster spot though. So there’s that.Isn’t he out for a knee injury
Ok thanks for clearing that up thought it was just and injured knee and they were holding him out until the playoffsPCL. Should’ve been back a few weeks ago so it’s very concerning. Although if they thought he was done they wouldn’t use a roster spot though. So there’s that.
My guess is he’s aggravated it a couple times. Possibly as little as a couple weeks ago. We still have 2 weeks before playoffs and I’m wondering if we aren’t holding him back being extra cautious? Just give him that extra 2-3 weeks is the only thing that makes sense.
The problem with the Packers is their big players measured by salary come up small in big games. It happens over and over again going back more than a decade. It makes no sense to get caught up in the minutia of the games. They just fail to make the plays when needed. Where was Gary or Clark or Alexander or McKinney or even Love against the Lions or Vikings. They were basically AWOL. That's going to happen again in the playoffs. They'll get bounced out right away because they play small. That clears it up - competing for Super Bowl to me is being one of the four or six teams that folks give a realistic shot at pushing to be in the SB, which I think for some is debatable to include GB this year. Competing for it as you described is slightly different in being one of the two teams in the game, makes me understand your take better.
As long as MLF has been HC, the D has played it safe. I don't care for that - rushing four or five, playing zone, and usually not getting anywhere. Not really very sophisticated about it either. I disagree on this part. We went to their turf and start the game by marching down the field and on a 7 yard run we fumble on the MN38. Even after spotting MN an extra Possession in good field position we held. Punt. In total Vikes scored 13 points in First Half. Our problem was OUR Offense scored just 3 points. We’ve got to find a way to start faster than 3 points in 2 Quarters. The problem with the Packers is their big players measured by salary come up small in big games. . Love isn't growing into the role of a leader. He always has a non-descript, nonchalant look on his face. When Z slammed him in the jaw in the first Lions' game - a hit that should have been roughing - I would have expected him to be up and screaming for the foul, even if he wasn't going to get it. Nope. 4th down, punt away, go back and sit on bench like a little lamb.I disagree on this part. In the 2nd Half our D allowed 14 points. However they also INT a pass and dropped our Offense on the MN18. So for me that’s at MINIMUM 3 points to our Defense and we actually scored a TD a few plays later. Our D gets credit somewhere between 3-7 points across 3rd-4th Quarters. So they allowed 7 points. Without our D INT our Offense scored 18 points. That’s not going to work in postseason.
Btw. Alexander hadn’t played any Lions or Vikings games. 0-4. So just erase his name from your complaint list he can’t perform if he’s not activated. Also we lost our backup Safety and had to shuffle players. Wyatt went out with a concussion.
So we were missing 3 D starters and then lost our backup Safety, so we lost our Slot CB to play Safety. I’m not making excuses, we’re playing a 14 Win team here, at some point our Offense needs to Pony up some points and help out when we’re dinged up. You know, sorta like Detroit does

Passion and ambition can't be taught. I hope he finds it somewhere inside him.
Those do sound like excuses. Either you make the big plays or you don't, and the big salary guys were AWOL. Alexander needs to get on the field. He's had numerous injuries where he just languishes. We don't know the reasons why but its the NFL. Lots of other players get back on the field. He's probably worn out his welcome in GB and will be gone soon. They don't beed another Bakhtiari situation. Every team is shuffling players at this point of the season. It didn't stop Detroit from beating the Packers missing 6 starters on defense. It's a cliché but true. The big players need to make big plays in big games to beat good teams. That's been missing for a very long time. Yeah that's a good point - he doesn't throw any of his teammates under the bus. He accepts responsibility for the team and that is a mark of a leader. And a nice change given the way Rodgers turned out at the end, taking very little responsibility for what occurred on the field. There is a fine line between an unflappable personality and not a leader. I do think of course he leads insanely different than Rodgers or Favre did but I also know he has his guys behind him 1,000% because he never flips blame, always looks unaffected and focused.
Little dial turn up on the emotions wouldn’t be a terrible thing I admit tho

Alexander is NOT getting on the field. Alexander hasn’t played since Mid October!, It’s January of the following year!! He just had surgery a few hours ago. Alexander is NOT making up an injury that required physical surgery as some type of ploy to avoid playing. There will be no “tough it out” speech that will result in Alexander playing. Those do sound like excuses. Either you make the big plays or you don't, and the big salary guys were AWOL. I think all of their losses ended up being close as far as scoring. But in many cases they were entering the 3rd and 4th Qs well behind. "Just" playing better from the start changes some of those outcomes.Alexander is NOT getting on the field. Alexander hasn’t played since Mid October!, It’s January of the following year!! The Packers are a strong 1st or 2nd Quarter “showing up” on Offense from beating what everyone is touting as SB favorite. Nothing more and nothing less. The whole “sky is falling” thing is a little much. If there is anyone I’ve witnessed that needs to tough it out? You would be my nomination!

Good news! This season has been anything but typical, so this should be right up your alley. It’s like a dream come true!
JA could be toast. He may come back and no longer have the strength in the leg to compete. Makes a big difference. He would not be able to cover and likely would get hurt again at this level. We have a decision to make.Excuses never cut it. Big time players make big plays when they have to, period.
As for JA's injury situation, something just doesn't seem right about that. He's been week-to-week for two months, and now it's suddenly revealed that a PCL tear won't repair itself and he needs surgery. Nothing adds up here. He is a great corner when he plays. I have a feeling his time in GB is done, and we may never know what happened to the guy. (And his injuries go way beyond this year's knee problem. I think he's become gun shy, afraid to make or take a hit. They're paying him too much for that.)
Anyway on to the playoffs, probably Philly. A lot of guys need to get healthy between now and then. Either way, there should be no excuses. Win or go home. I actually think they will make a good showing in the playoffs. Just a gut feeling.
