I saw a lot wrong. The Defense again felt like they were backed into a corner. We are seeing Love's accuracy issues, I think we're also seeing how/why he led the nation in INTs his last year at USU. Watson is a bust from the effort standpoint and you won't move me off that needle anymore. I'm also becoming less and less confident in Musgrave. Going into the draft I advocated for 2 ILB and 1 starting caliber quality...we saw tonight once Wilson and McDuffie were installed how thin this group is. Owens was middle of the road tonight at Safety given it was his first real time at the position in this system. And yes 100% I agree you can't scheme on ANY play to get Davante on Preston Smith...just like a couple weeks back you couldn't scheme to have Campbell on Robinson in a MUST STOP situation in Atlanta.

With that said an opponent like the Raiders put up no more than 17 points just like the Saints did. We should still be able to beat that. Rookies can make a great catch then turn around an drop an easy one. Except for the Bears game I am seeing very few receivers with separation. Very few times is a receiver wide open. MLF has to become more vanilla with this group. Simplify the game. You are not going to fool anyone.

Not many can. What is really showing is the poor blocking by our TEs and WRs. That was once a strength and now it is not and is killing this offense.
We had to face Bosa a few years ago in SF. MLF carved out a game to chip him and it worked. We put up 30 points that night. Are we that thin with talent.

They could put Joe Montana out there..he would struggle with this oline! They had 10 days to prepare..yet still another crappy oline performance.

Lots of mistakes on both sides.

- Love's accuracy.
- Gaps in O-Line.
- Ineffective blocking.
- Uninspired and passive (and defensive) play calling by MLF.
- Awful run D / Ineffective ILBs.

Flashes of brilliance from individual players aside, as a team it was a steaming mess.

When Campbell was gone and Walker went down that's gonna hurt for sure defensively - not many teams have four stud deeps.

Not awful, but the raiders average just 3.1 yards per carry for the season and that includes last night’s game. Also, the raiders haven’t scored more than 18 all year.

Defense didn’t do horrible. But they didn’t do anything spectacular either.

At the end of the day, the loss was because of the turnovers on offense though.

Calmed down in the light of day, I can see your points about mine and others posts about the defense last night. But understand the frustration with continuously not being able to get off the field on 3rd and longs, giving up long drive at the end of a half, etc. Barry having Preston cover Davonte is getting ripped good online this morning.

I think we all knew (whether some wanted to admit it or not) that this was going to be a bit of a rebuilding year, even more so than 2008. We are a much younger and inexperienced team than that one was. A lot of fans just don't know how to handle a season like this. This is not a season to be worrying about the win column. What we are aiming for is improvement from our young offense between Week 1 and Week 18. There's still a long way to go.

Our offense this year is very much in the same situation the Lions defense was in last year. It simply takes some time and a lot of Packer fans, especially those under 50 years of age, are having a hard time with that. Some of us have been around long enough to know the season was going to be like this and also knew the forum was going to have a lot of extreme negativity after losses. By the way some of these posts read, you'd think the Raiders blew us out. They didn't. It was a one possession game.

That said, the defense is not in the same rebuilding phase as the offense. They have enough experience and Barry needs to be gone by January 8.

My concern is this: We kept Nijman but how bad is he when he can't play well enough to move Tom inside to Center to get ride of Myers.

Then you expected up to 10 losses this year and for Love to have some poor showings. So why so up in arms?
So you're happy about this performance and farting rainbows this morning? You must not remember the 80's. Because what I'm seeing right now is he 80's in reverse. The D can play and the O can not.

And why do you think the offense is struggling? Would experience have anything to do with that or does experience not matter in your world?

And yeah, I remember the 80's vividly. I also remember the early 90's and late 00's. Do you?
