That’s solid we need to add corners tho... Claiborne or E.J. Gaines is the best left

Outstanding addition - the front 7 players is what makes the 3-4 defense and makes the secondary even better. Wilkerson will have something to prove to the rest of the league and this will free up Daniels, Clark, Martinez, Matthews, & Perry to be even better. Upgrading the secondary will be next

All the corners on the roster and future roster just got better with this move. No one can cover for 7+ seconds while the qb stands their and calmly selects his target.

Still want Jordy back....

I agree would be nice to see him back for one last year at a reasonable price but judging from gutes statement doesn't sound like that's an option. Unfortunate I think he could avg 12 yards a catch and score 8 touchdowns as the number 3 option behind Adams and graham. Like to see dj Moore drafted in 2nd round either way

One year, $5 million plus $3M in incentives

8M base, 3M incentive. He’s only 28. If he returns to form with Clark and Daniels... oh man. It also makes Lowry, a solid starter, into a backup. Rotate them war daddies.

I am fine even at the 8M base. It's a great carrot to dangle as a 1 year contract. If he busts his butt to get another big contract, we will get a great season out of him and then a comp pick when he leaves for the big bucks.

I read it's 5 million with 3 million in unlikely to be earned incentives

I'm optimistic, but never forget Albert Haynesworth.

Haynesworth got 7/100/41 from the Skins (and that’s in 2009 cap numbers). It was a boondoggle for them when he didn’t try. The worst thing that can happen in this situation is that the Packers for out 5M for one season.

I like that this deal is one year and is incentive laden. Wilkerson should be motivated to rehab his value while earning the extra money. If this doesn’t get him trying, nothing will.

We'll see.

If he does have a "redemption year", he'd end up wanting to cash in on his last big contract...and someone will pay him too.

Geeze wth has happened to the Packers. I feel like I’m signing these dudes in Madden in franchise mode. You would’ve NEVER saw this with Ted Thompson. His splash would have been re signing Richard Rogers and Morgan Burnett.

With Daniels, Clark and Mo Wilkerson the d line could be Dominant!! Mo should really help Clay get back to double digit sacks. If the qb cant step up in the pocket to avoid Clay's edge rush, be prepared to see a lot more of the Claymaker!

Actually Wilkerson is a very TT esque signing, street free agent so he doesn't count against comp pick formula

It's a lot like him signing Martellus Bennett last year, actually.

I'm stoked about the announced signings-to-be, but cautiously. We have all sat here watching, as other teams "won" free agency only to prove that paper champions need to prove it on the field. We appear to be the team adding FAs, and so we must equally be appropriate skeptical until these guys show it on the field. At least we all seem to like these signings. That's a good sign.

I agree there needs to be cautious optimism but the difference is we have 12. A lot of the teams in recent memory that have gone all in didn't have anything close to what we have behind center and that is what keeps me optimistic most seasons. I tell my friends the same thing every freaking year: Give 12 an above average (not great, above average) defense and we will win more titles. I am hopeful we can still add a nice CB before the draft if not two and head into said draft with a boatload of momentum and a little more freedom to pick BPA to a certain extent. Seeing Gute do his thing so far it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he moves up to grab a guy he feels could be a day one impact player. Heck, maybe we can pull off a similar deal to Raji and Clay?? All I know is I haven't been this excited at this time of year in a long, long time and it feels good.

Many don't realize this.

I love the signing though, still wish Clay wasn't costing us as much but whatever....DBs got better for sure and even if we use draft to shore up secondary we got tremendously better.

And we get a comp pick. Maybe TT is still calling the shots.
