Nice analysis of Hardman by a "KC Guy", Kent Swanson from KCSN.

I was thinking the same about the Jet Sweep. I would much rather have Hardman running that than Reed or Watson.

Hardman might give the offense more production in the redzone as well.

I was thinking more like a bar fight, high speed chase or something. I am in Missouri so anytime a Chief's player changes their socks its headline news.

Jayden Reed is not a very good punt returner and Keisean Nixon has said he doesn’t want to return kicks anymore. Melton doesn’t offer anything in either role. So if Hardman takes the WR5 or WR6 job and locks down the return game, this is a savvy signing. It frees them up to focus two other WR slots on receiving skills.
This is my feeling also. He's a proven returner, at both KR & PR. Plus he will be the new dreaded "jet sweep" guy for MLF. (Tavon Austin revisited).

Posted just for the last line :

Hardman Jr., a free agent after the Chiefs' Super Bowl loss, and the Packers reached a one-year contract on Tuesday, according to ESPN. The move will make Hardman Jr. one of Green Bay’s top receivers.

Let's pump the brakes People.com

Extremely scared for this season

That's your 1st post?

Plenty of offseason winning teams to follow where you can feel great about the upcoming season because you spent a bunch of money only to have your heart ripped out and shown to you around week 4.

I mean, I don't think it's a *bad* deal. Like I said - just don't really think it moves the needle any for us in any appreciable way. Naturally I hope he surprises us (positively) but I suspect this time next year nobody's going to be pointing to this signing as a major factor in our success (or lack thereof), lol.
And I guess I’m just uncertain how much of an improvement he’ll be over Reed at PR - IMO Hardman’s been better historically on kickoffs rather than punts and that “role” has been so devalued lately… Career average has him precisely one yard per return better than Reed.

I guess if Nixon just won’t do kickoffs anymore then that’s fine, but basically it feels like you said - maybe a WR5 or WR6 - and perhaps a marginal improvement on punt returns. Again, I don’t really think there’s any problem with it and don’t think we’ll be any *worse* at KR/PR and/or WR5/6 but also kinda suspect any improvement will just be “bonus”, if you will.

The real impact of this move IF he does get a spot and does serves as our returner is Reed and Nixon have far less chance of injury and can also focus more on their primary responsibilities.

I would be surprised if he makes the roster. He's just not much of anything anymore. We can all hope as much as we want, but he's got to show that he still has something to offer in the NFL.

My guess is that he will compete for kick/punt returner, something he has had some success with in the league.

I do not expect him to be a big part of the offense, but time will tell.

With Watson out and Reed more deadly running routes, I suspect Hardman could be that jet sweep candidate as well.

As most of us thought, Gute didn't break the Bank on Hardman

Hardman was signed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal.

I should have also said, that the only thing guaranteed on his contract is the $150K signing bonus.

About as Team friendly of a Free Agent signing as they come.
