Maybe the Giants lose again and fall to the 6 seed. I would have no problem at all hosting Tampa or Washington at Lambeau, assuming we finish it off and win the division.

The Packers match up terribly with Washington. I would prefer not facing them again this season.

Could be right, I'm just banking on Cousins choking in primetime like he always does. Except of course when he beat us a couple weeks ago...

Wouldn't count on a repeat performance though.

It doesn´t make any difference for the Packers aside of possibly the opponent in the wild card round if they end up winning the division.
Well... the first thing that came to mind to me was... that Dallas no longer has any serious motivation to beat Detroit..... I'm not sure of where Detroit would fall in the wildcard chase.... but I was kind of hoping that the Packers could win out and also knock the Lions out of the playoffs lol.

I would prefer playing the Lions in the playoffs over some other possible opponents.

Rationally, that is probably a better matchup... but for some reason, I am always apprehensive when the Packers have to play the Lions. Statistically, that probably doesn't make sense... it probably stems from watching them growing up in the 70s and 80s.

Wildcard Update: we clinched the strength of victory tiebreaker over TB yesterday based on a series of results that went in our favor. Obviously the number one goal is beating Detroit, winning the division, and locking up a first round home game. However, we also clinch a wild card spot with a Redskins loss next weekend (home against the Giants).

Detroit clinches playoffs with win or tie vs the coasting Cowboys.
MM was correct. Get to 10 wins before talking playoffs. No 10 win team will be left out in the NFC. AFC might have one.

There's still a slim chance left for the Buccaneers to clinch the second wild card spot over the Packers. That scenario involves a tie between Washington and the Giants.

Any scenario where we make the playoffs if we lose next Sunday, and the Redskins win? Or does that eliminate us? Just curious.

Both GB and Detroit will be keeping a close eye on the Washington game. If Washington loses, both teams are in.

Giants are locked in as the #5 seed. IMO their playoffs scenario is leaning towards playing in GB should the Packers win on Sunday night.

1. The Giants play Seattle (9-5-1) if …

--The Seahawks lose in Week 17 in San Francisco

2. The Giants play Atlanta (10-5) if …

--The Falcons lose to the Saints, the Seahawks beat the 49ers, and the Lions beat the Packers

3. The Giants play Detroit (9-6) if …

--The Lions beat the Packers, the Seahawks win in SF and Falcons beat the Saints

4. The Giants play Green Bay (9-6) if …

--The Packers win in Detroit, the Seahawks win in SF and Falcons beat the Saints

--The Packers win in Detroit, the Seahawks win in SF and Falcons lose to the Saints

I think my "favorite" long shot scenario is that of the Buccaneers:

Seven things must happen if Jameis Winston and Co. are to play in the postseason. First, the Bucs must beat the Panthers in a home game. They would need the Colts, Cowboys, Titans, 49ers and Lions to win and for the Redskins-Giants game to end in a tie.

So it looks like to me #4 Packers Vs #1 Cowboys and #3 Seattle vs #2 Atlanta. Seattle vs Packers in the final!! Falcons and Cowboys are pretenders. The experienced playoff teams will show in the end.
Home game for the Super Bowl.

At least the Giants are claiming they are going to play for a meaningless (standings wise) win on Sunday against Washington. I will believe it when I see it and their starters still out there in the 4th quarter. I am just glad that the Packers fate is in their own hands. I know NBC will be pulling for Washington to win, since that sets up an all or nothing Sunday night matchup between the Lions and the Packers.

If TB makes the POs but the house on them to win it all. Having God as your 12th man is quite an advantage
