While Davis has made too many bad decisions he has only been responsible for a single turnover in his NFL career so far, muffing a punt in 2016.
Well... I was at the Preseason game against Washington...in DC last year... he muffed one right in front of me. That may not show up in the stats ... but it doesn’t increase my confidence.

At this point all i want them to do is field the ball cleanly and let the offense go to work. Screw the return and the impending penalty that puts us back half the distance to the goal or at minimum loses 10 yards of field position every time they try a return.

Sadly, I feel the exact same way. I have been cringing anytime the Packers return a kickoff, fearing the penalty or fumble and knowing even if none of those happen, its probably is not getting past the 25 anyway. If I am an opposing coach, I am instructing my kicker to boot that ball as high and as close to short of that goal line as he can!

In college, a kick returner can fair catch the ball anywhere and it goes to the 25, with as bad as the Packers return game has been, I wish that was the NFL rule too.

I just dont see any upside here....Kumerow showed huge play ability out of the gate, but prolly needs more time to learn offensive sets. Gmo being gone is a big loss to the potential of the passing game. Huge. Davis is a scared run outta bounds doesnt like contact burner without the ball guy. Just a guy IMO

We always need to remember that a guy that looks good in the preseason, playing against guys that may no longer be in the NFL, may not be ready for the regular season playing against much better talent. We saw that with Janis, Boykin and several other wide receivers and other positions over the years. I think Kumerow will get another shot next year and could be decent, but he also may just be a guy who is only a bit better than Janis when it comes to "real" games.

Boykin did well enough his rookie season, pre and regular . He just fell off after that.

Boykin did pretty well, catching 49 passes for 681 yards in his second season with the Packers. It's possible Kumerow ends up not making plays in the regular season but it seems he has the ability to grasp a playbook. Something Janis was never able to do.

I'd like to apologise to Trevor davis. He had a good game made good decisions made a nice tackle in coverage. That return for like 55 yards was clutch in that spot. I think the penalty was bogus. Averaged 10.33 on 3 punt returns and would of averaged 37.5 on 2 kickoffs if not for the bad call. If he can keep that up that should really give the offense a spark

He had a pretty good first game back. I will gladly say I was wrong about everything I said about him if he keeps it up

Well, during the preseason I said "learn to love him" because of the lack of alternatives. So, here we are.

I doubt many of us are wrong about his skills as a WR.....but hey, I will gladly be wrong about that too. :)

He has looked better in fact very good on returns since he has come back. He is running fast to the blockers on kick offs which is a must. Worry about the hole when you get to it. I think they should let him return more kick offs. And just don't make stupid blocks in the back.

Easier said than done it seems. In 10 games, the Packers Special Teams have been assessed 14 penalties for a total of 140 yards. Whereas the Titans who have the leagues highest ave. return per kick and 5th on punts, have committed 5 special teams penalties for 43 yards.

You would think it would be easy to teach your players not to do that. Either:

1. Our players on ST are just that dumb
2. Our coaches are bad cant teach
3. They are taught to do it to spring big returns and just hope to get away with it.
