My preferred pass rush set, right now, would probably be Z, Clark Keke and Gary.
Some serious doses of this line up coming to Lambeau this coming fall!

If both Smiths get healthy, I love our LB group. 3 Smiths, Gary, Mercilus, Campbell, Barnes. I can't remember that much talent and/or depth.Phenomenal this game. He really is coming into his own. I'm really looking forward to when Z Smith also back and our D should get to next level!
Big if....but if we can get Jaire and Z back in the fold....lawdhamercy.If both Smiths get healthy, I love our LB group. 3 Smiths, Gary, Mercilus, Campbell, Barnes. I can't remember that much talent and/or depth.
I think Jaire makes it back at some point and probably Z too. We just need to hope no more major injuries...on either side of the ball. Maybe we will get luck and not only that happens, but we find another castoff starter for the DL.Big if....but if we can get Jaire and Z back in the fold....lawdhamercy.

Yeah, I thought I saw that too. Gary was deliberately rushing on more snaps than in the past. No numbers to support it, just an observation. That's why he was drafted, I think. Well, maybe he needed the first few years to adjust to the NFL. Not everyone makes the jump automatically, and really these are kids who were recently teenagers. Some need to be handled carefully unless they blow their chance.I didnt catch a whole lot of the earlier games, but it seemed like we had him rushing head up much more against Washington.

I think the direction the league is taking is for all defensive linemen to play standing up, no more 3 pt. That begs the question of how the OL plays. With the exception of the C, who has to be in 3 pt. If the league really wants to reduce CTE, they'll find a way to make this work.I mean from what I saw he looked better out of the 2 point as opposed to out of the 3 point. Perhaps he's still not a great technique guy and that little bit of misdirection playing heads up really helps him play up his strength speed combination.
I’d love to find the iDL version of Mercilus. Even possibly work a deal before trade deadline.I think Jaire makes it back at some point and probably Z too. Kind of agree but it is probably one of two positions (the other being CB) that I'd continue looking for value. While I'm in favor of the Packers adding another veteran on the defensive line both Lowry and Keke have played better lately, possibly reducing the need to get an upgrade there.

Agreed on Lowery and Keke, as well as Kenny Clark really stepping it up (IMO). However, beyond those 3 guys, the cupboard is pretty bare of immediate talent. I like Slayton, but he needs another year. We have seen how injuries have impacted CB and both ILB and OLB, so if a decent vet castoff D Lineman happens to fall into our lap, I wouldn't mind.Kind of agree but it is probably one of two positions (the other being CB) that I'd continue looking for value.
Maybe, but at least Douglas looks like the real deal. He's playing tight so far. Not sure how we got him but unless I'm missing something; some other team(s) made a mistake.Kind of agree but it is probably one of two positions (the other being CB) that I'd continue looking for value.
Douglas has been around since 2017, when he was a 3rd round pick of the Eagles. He played quite a bit his first 4 years (Eagles and Panthers) and has a Super Bowl ring (Eagles).Maybe, but at least Douglas looks like the real deal. He's playing tight so far. Nice to know our staff is doing their job looking over the PS of other teams. If he continues this play, I guess we won't be able to keep him. Actually, I am optimistic that we will be able to field a good team for the foreseeable future. Just please, don't ask me how.Douglas has been around since 2017, when he was a 3rd round pick of the Eagles. This past year has been quite the trip for him....not resigned by the Panthers, the Raiders signed him in April. Then cut in August and the Texans pick him up for a week and cut him. Then the Cardinals signed him and put him on their PS. The Packers grabbed him off of the Arizona PS on Oct. 6th.
So he has been on a lot (6) teams and really has quite a bit of experience. I think it was a solid move on Gute's part. Might pay dividends against Arizona on Thursday night, due to his knowledge of their receivers.
Well with King coming back and hopefully Alexander at some point, Douglas's playing time might get reduced substantially. Given how many teams passed on him this past year, maybe he likes his spot in GB for 2022. I really don't see King being back, unless its league min. and the Packers have to make a decision on Sullivan, who also has been playing well as of late and is on a 1 year $2.133 M deal.Nice to know our staff is doing their job looking over the PS of other teams. If Douglas keeps playing well; they might want to keep him on the field. It should always be best player. Just isn't always. But Sullivan seems to be stepping it up also.Well with King coming back and hopefully Alexander at some point, Douglas's playing time might get reduced substantially. Packers are paying Douglas $770K
I think a lot of fans feel the same way. It's hard not to be optimistic about a 6-1 team. Then again, it's easy to get pessimistic with injuries to such key players (Alexander, Bakh, MVS, Z, and now Adams/Covid). But they keep finding ways to win. Now with Adams likely out, maybe luck has run out against the Cardinals. Even if that happens, I'm still more optimistic about this team than I've been in years.
