Still foreign temperatures to them. They aren't a bad team. They are a middle of the road team. Just like the Packers & Bears.

I can’t imagine a 75 degree game would be a factor for anyone, regardless of where they’re coming from.

Me too although I don't think anyone could have done much against the Rams that night.

While I tend to agree with this statement the Vikings defense has struggled against inferior competition compared to the Rams over the past six games as well.

Way too early to make an informed observation. Hate to say it, but week 4 ends the pre-season for most starters in the NFL. All you want to do is NOT start at 1-3.

Still, anyone think the Falcons won't be in the playoffs?

I don't believe the Falcons will make the playoffs this season. They have suffered too many devastating injuries on defense to overcome.

You’re not wrong that they need to adapt, but getting a WR matched on a linebacker might happen more often than you think.

For crying out loud it happened a total of 10 times during three games the Rams were playing in this season. I have absolutely no idea what the Chargers did in their game vs. the Rams but it seems their game plan centered around linebacker covering opposing receivers for some weird reason.

At least they don't drop DL into coverage because that would just be asinine.

It isn't just Minnesota's defense that is struggling. Their run game is terrible right now. Dead last in total yards and 30 in ypa.

But defensively they have also only forced 4 turnovers, have less sacks than the Packers, are second last in yards given up per reception and are middle of the road in ypa given up rushing.

This isn't fluky defensive numbers. Simply put they haven't been good. Sure they played the Rams but they also played the bills. The Packers offense hasn't started clicking yet and the 49ers are middle of the road.

Yeah, they've been surprisingly bad on defense against most teams. Not sure why but they're nowhere near the level they were last year.

As for their run game, you can probably chalk that up to their oline which is particularly awful so far this year.

At mid season I would say that’s about right. 4-3-1 assuming they beat the 49ers and split on the road v the Rams and Pats. That’s a tall order. But who knows? No one thought the Vikings D would be so weak. Bears loss helps today in the division.

I would say we have no chance of beating the Rams. But they're going to have to lose a game someday. Maybe we'll hit them at just the right time. It's unlikely, but hey you never know. That's why they play the games, as they say.

“No chance” is a mouthful, especially when you have the best QB in football off of a bye week.

Stranger things have happened. The Rams D is not living up to its billing. The O is a juggernaut. I’d be surprised if the Pack beats them on the road, but certainly wouldn’t be surprised.

GB stuns the world and beats the Rams and Patriots back to back weeks! But then loses to the Dolphins and Cardinals later on. Cause that is what we do.

So they should be at least 3-4-1 after eight games.
We could certainly make the playoffs from that point, especially in our division where everybody beats up on each other. But sub .500 after an entire half a season? Not exactly what you look for in an elite team, is it? Not exactly dominating the league there. Not exactly high standards.

The Packers currently aren't an elite team though.

Current NFC North Standings:

1. Minnesota Vikings - 4-2-1
2. Green Bay Packers - 3-2-1
3. Detroit Lions - 3-3
4. Chicago Bears - 3-3

The Bears currently sitting at the 4 spot is nothing to get overly excited about. While their 3 wins haven't come against the most impressive competition, they have lost 3 games by a total of 11 points. They could certainly be a factor in December.

The Lions have three wins over the Packers, Patriots, and Dolphins. Not bad.

The Vikes don't have a stretch as rough as what the Packers have in the next few weeks, but it's nothing to sneeze at with New Orleans, Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay, New England, and at Seattle. They really don't have much of a "gimmie" game left on the schedule.

Looking ahead for the Packers:

@ Rams
@ Patriots
Dolphins
@ Seahawks
@ Vikings

Cardinals
Falcons
@ Bears
@ Jets
Lions

The next 5 is the key for the Packers. If we come out of that stretch somehow at 3-2, I think running the table could be a very realistic possibility. Not too worried about the Dolphins at Lambeau, and we seem to have the Seachicken's number. So winning at least one of Rams, Patriots, Vikings is key.

Rams are due for a loss.

True, although we thoroughly outplayed them for 55 minutes of the NFCCG on their field.

Unfortunately that didn't result in a win though. I agree that it seems the Packers might have the best chances of winning in Seattle over the next four road games.
