To be frank I'm not big on Philbin to be quite honest. Not after the disaster he was in Miami. We all knew this was going to happen and we kinda have all been wanting for this to happen for awhile. While I do think this was 4 years too late, I appreciate McCarthy and what he did for the organization especially considering how pitiful Sherman was. I hope Philbin isn't the permanent head coach.

Wow!!! Never expected it to happen before the end of the season. Kinda feel bad for MM even though I believed last year that his offense was getting stale.

Thanks for all you did MM and those winning seasons.

PS I hope they don't give the job to Philbin. Need a young and innovative head coach.

I doubt Philbin will be more than the interim. They had to have someone be the interim. They will hire someone after the season. NFL changed and passed McCarthy by. With the new allowances on rules for the offense, I am hoping we will go after someone who likes to score a lot of points. That is what it will take to compete. A decent defense but wide open offense. I like defense, but that isn't what the NFL or many of the fans now want.

I will appreciate his time here because it coincided with a Superbowl win. I will remember that his stubborness and inability to adjust likely cost us 3 other appearances.

I've said it for years: he lost this team as time expired in OT against SEA in the nfc championship game. This team has had a progressing rot on it that has festered since.

Right wrong or indifferent, his tenure for me ended that day. His style was exposed, his flaws highlighted, and he never regained the locker room where it counted.

Bye Mike.

AMF!!! getting fired during the season should say a ton. A lot of the blame goes to TT too.. Maybe now this arrogant organization will go away. More pink slips to be issued too.
The GM will have a ton of work to do. Perry will be gone as will Matthews, Springs and Cobb, possibly Crosby too.

Also Nelson and Cook are doing very well in Oakland today.

He won't get the job.. Unless Aaron is on board.. It sucks but he is going to have a say

The time of handing Blank Checks is over. As CM3, Spriggs, Cobb and Perry took that Blank Check from TT and drained our coffers dry on average at best talent.

from all us packers fans up here in canada - its about f........ time EH!

I agree that it was time. However, since this season is over for the Packers, I wish they would have done it with more class and waited if not till the season was finished then at least do it on Monday.

Wow, I don't get to see many Packer games out here in western Virginia, but I've had the sense that McCarthy's game plans were stale, and didn't generally protect rogers enough. I'm not surprised by the move, jut the timing. WOnder who they will get.

McDaniels is my first choice hands down. You may not like him, but he's going to make a hell of a head coach. He took tebiw to the playoffs for Christ sake.

On a funny note, does anyone find it hilarious that this happened on Rodgers birthday? Happy Birthday Aaron. :roflmao:

Yea but will he actually take the job or do what he did to the Colts leaving them high and dry?

Anyone concerned that doing it like this, they just sent a clear message to all the players and all potential coaches that the QB is more important than YOU!?

Do not really understand why they didn’t wait until the end of the season.
