Looks like us Packer fans Win either Way in Detroit. We either get a sliver of a chance to catch Detroit OR watch the end of the Chicago Bears 2024 season.
95%+ chance 8 losses will eliminate any NFC team

Interesting Week. While it may not be 100% official (or statically impossible) several teams will lock their playoff spot with a Win or put a probability Nail in the Coffin for the 2024 season. Possibly both simultaneously in this First game.

Bills can clinch their division with a win and a Packer win. Chiefs can clinch a playoff spot in same scenario. Lions need a 5 or 6 team parlay to clinch a playoff spot.

This is 3 straight North games for them, all 3 pts or less. They had 1 first down at halftime and were losing 16-0. Jameson Williams unsportsmanlike penalty may have changed the trajectory of this game.

Wow, they straight up blew that one. That team might be dangerous when they learn to quit shooting themselves in the foot.

A lot of Bears games come down to a field goal, don't they?
Or more like a field goal and an absolutely, inexplicably stupid mistake.

I'll just leave it at that and not say anything more until Caleb gets here to explain how Detroit cheated.

Edit: the guy only lives about 10 miles from my house, but I'm not quite sure exactly where. Maybe I should step out onto my porch and listen for whereever the screams of agony are coming from.

Now they have a Turkey Leg... They took a lot of heat last year when they dropped the ball.... or should I say the Turkey, with Love not getting one.

Horrific way to lose. Typical of the Bears season. I should not feel for them but I do. A better head coach and their record is 8-4 instead of 4-8.

Just brutal, they had 1st down on the 25 yd line with 46 seconds and 2 timeouts remaining.... here's how it went.

-incomplete pass
-call time out to avoid a delay of game
-1st down pass to the 12, nullified by 10 yd penalty
-Sack
-incomplete pass to run out the clock

How can something like this happen, WOW, just WOW!!!

Actually I think it was FOX that messed it up last year with the Turducken.

They need to learn how to win, the Lions used to be just like this.
I dunno... just like this? I honestly don't know if I can remember ever seeing a team that found so many ways to pour gasoline all over themselves and set themselves on fire in the last few minutes of every. Single. GAME.

That's what worries me. That's the downside of this... this last one is so horribly, inexcusably terrible, I don't think there's any longer any chance Eberfluis keeps hs job.

In fact, it's hard to imagine any way he doesn't get fired by the end of the week. How can he not be fired right in the locker room? How does he even look his team in the face right now?

The Bears are going to have a new coach sooner or later, and even if it's PeeWee Herman, they'll be orders of magnitude better next season. We're having our fun with Chicago after every game this season, but the fun's over next year. That kid can play quarterback, and they're gonna be for real.

What I'm mulling is at what point, as the coach, do you pull the trigger on the timeout. You are obviously trying to save that last timeout because in your head you are thinking there is a chance to either win this or at least keep the timeout so you can attack the middle of the field, try to get to the 25 again. I guess at 20 seconds so you can still attack the middle of the field and have time to send the kicking team out.

Caleb was just massively lost in that last 30 seconds too.

Understandable. But these rookie QBs face these situations in college although differently. Coaching has to be able to dial down inexperience. Eberflus may have felt since they blew an OT game Sunday he may just go for the victory. Penalties and sacks cannot happen in that situation either. When you are up against a 10-1 team nothing is a piece of cake. 1st and 10 on the 25. You must come away with at least 3.
