Other than his tackling (sucks) he honestly isn't as bad as everyone thinks.

Not defending us signing him for next year, as I believe we don't.

He's an above average coverage guy who simply can NOT tackle

And is also an injury liabiliity

But if that's the case, he better damn be getting 4+ interceptions every year to offset missed tackles...

That dropped interception was just...i mean he's gotta make plays like that in the playoffs

King is hot and cold. Basically a defensive version of MVS. He looks good at times, but then follows that with dreadful play.

That was definitely a catchable interception. But to be fair, the players in front of him shielded his vision, so I don't think he saw the ball until it was right on him.

I'd place serious money not a single player not named Davante catches that ball so many say he should have had easily.

Thrown ball in the NFL, that he couldn't see until it got past the people it was intended for infront of him, and was at his knees....sorry not a "should have had" interception. It is a get lucky if intercepted.

The thing with king is he just doesn't play smart football all the time. Takes plays off. His tackling is a literal 4th grade adjustment, not that difficult to correct. His pass d is decent. I don't know if i would give him an all pro salary though, more like league avg.

It's tough, he's had trouble with injuries - but he still needs to tackle FFS. We could do worse, but we def could do better. He's back if he's cheap, which he won't be.

His main issue in coverage is that he has tight hips. I think he’s average, at best. We can, and should, improve him.

The thing is Amos is the opposite, and he doesn't even need to get like 4+ interceptions a year.

Amos is usually in position and can TACKLE (mostly) so I would never complain and have never complained about Amos.

Obviously he's not a 7 interception guy like Sharper or Woodson...but he can tackle (usually)

For King, since he can't tackle obviously, he better be getting a bunch of interceptions every year to make up for it

*oh yeah, and that's if he isn't injured lol

No, he would be the defensive version of MVS if he could create turnovers/interceptions... he's even worse than MVS at this point bc he doesn't create turnovers

I got ripped for criticizing King’s lack of ability a couple weeks ago. He plays decent coverage, but backs away from contact and absolutely refuses to tackle. That shoulder bumping **** drives me nuts. No wonder he’s hurt a lot.

You got criticized because that all you’re ever here for is to criticize.

the tackling on this team has been an issue talked about for a while. I don’t like it, but he’s an injury prone DB with loose shoulders making a business decision about how he tackles.

you can say he has terrible tackling technique, but saying he backs away from contact is about the opposite of what he does.

Well, a defensive back that plays scared of getting injured is playing the wrong sport.

Thing with King is, if he doesn't tackle then he HAS to create turnovers/interceptions to make up for it....

But he doesn't

Harris and Woodson

Or Mckenzie and Harris

Are still the best duo we have had the past 20 years or so

Lol, go tell that to neon Deion. You want to see a guy bback away from contact he was it, he’s also in the HOF.

any more nuggets you’d care to share?

King's tackling is an issue, but I have a feeling that if he leaves a lot of people are going to realize he was better than they thought. We dont have someone on the roster to replace him and probably wont be much better in FA. We will have to use a draft pick and hope a rookie can start on a Super Bowl contender.

Yup, King is or will be harder to replace than any other person that will leave or get cut before 2021 season. That CB position is one of the hardest spots in the game to find someone.
