Living in Kentucky, I saw Jaire play tons of snaps. I was really hoping he'd wind up in green and gold, and was thrilled when we drafted him. His first couple of years, I was glad to have him.
Frankly, at this point I'd be glad to get rd of him if there's a cap-friendly way to do it.
Over the last 4 seasons, Green Bay has played a total of 71 games in the regular season and playoffs. By my count, Alexander has played in 37 of them - 52% of the games.
His average annual salary for those 4 years has been $21,000,000, which is an average of $41,000,000 per game played.
Jaire is one of the better cornerbacks in the league when he's on the field, a true #1 cornerback. But in half of the games Green Bay plays, his spot has to be taken by the 3rd or even 4th CB on the depth chart. I don't see how we can afford to keep paying him $41 million for every game he actually plays; that money would be better spent on one or two corners who may not be as good as Jaire, but still a big upgrade over Stokes or Nixon.
