I don't know what's funnier..watching Joe Barry's pathetic defense or the bares thinking Justin fields is making enough progress to be their franchise qb! PAY THE MAN! EXTEND THE COACH TOO!

Where has the pass rush gone? Carolina was giving up a ton of sacks until today. Every aspect of this defense is terrible.pass rush, coverage, tackling, run defense. Barry has every single player playing like crap.

There is definitely something amiss. The dline played great against the Chiefs and Lions..yet sucks against terrible olines! Just think how good this team would be if their dline played as well as we were told they would! Yeah the offense is streaky..but this defense is just terrible!
It almost appears that with young mobile QBs, JB has the d-line rush contained to reduce the scrambling opportunities. I saw a spy stop in the gap on a delayed blitz rather than continue to the QB at one point. I think he'd have been picked up by the back.

Help me understand how we can continue to put this stuff out on tape week after week and Matt Lafleur can continue to think and act like we have a competent professional defensive coordinator in charge of the unit.

Couldn't agree with you more. There are 3 or 4 plays each game where it seems Barry doesn't quite understand the down and distance. It's beyond frustrating to watch but yet, MLF supports him to the detriment of the team.
I couldn't watch the game...that alignment on 4th & 1 is ridiculous.

The players need to understand the adjustments they are supposed to make to match the offense's formation and situation.
Leaving that gap on 4th and 1? That's just not good.

Most football coaches are allergic to spending timeouts on defense. Maybe use one per game either late or in a certain "down and distance" situation. To your point, it does seem that are two or three times per game where MLF could call timeout just to correct a defensive formation.

I suspect the players are trying to implement the plays Barry calls from his perch on high. He may not appreciate his players "freelancing". It is maddening to watch for sure.

Maybe Matt shouldn’t be held responsible. maybe he is being told to hold on to him ?

Two weeks after being named NFL Player of the Week for his performance against the Packers, the Giants benched Tommy DeVito at halftime of their game against the Eagles. Tyrod Taylor now in at QB for the G-men. <sigh>

Looks like the DeVito magic Ride has come to an end. I hope the kid can hang in there and continue to find success in the future

I can't believe there's another human being in the world outside of Matt Lafleur and the immediate Joe Barry family who watches the Packer defense and thinks, "yeah, they need to hang onto this coordinator."

I'm looking at January 2nd. If he's not gone then or shortly after, then something's really wrong.

I'm afraid it will get dragged out for weeks after the season. It won't be an immediate thing. MLF will give us a standard coachspeak "well we will evaluate EVERYONE next week". I don't remember what the Mo Drayton timeline was but it wasn't immediate.

We'd be ecstatic and crowning MLF coach of the year if his offense put up stats like that.

You say that, but the crazy thing is....last 6 games we are averaging just shy of 26 points, 250 yards passing, 115 yards rushing and have collected 13 Passing TDs to 1 INT.

Those three games I listed...our opponents have averaged 29 points, 267 yards, 135 rushing yards and 7 TDs vs 0 INTs

Not quite as good, but since the Chargers game this offense has been clicking despite all the injuries and issues and baby faces in the huddle.
