Can’t recall another defense that gives up 3rd and 4th down plays so routinely. Not sure how to explain the inability to make a stop, and force a punt, but it has become mind boggling.

They were playing a good offense on their home field and still managed to play well enough to win.
play well enough to win?! How on Earth do you figure that? Just because Aaron Rodgers is a God? What happens if Rodgers doesn't go all time great on that final drive. Would the defense still have played good enough to win? The defense was atrocious. And they have been against the only two elite level offenses we've played against this year. They were playing a good offense on their home field and still managed to play well enough to win. That said, you're right, there were some definite concerns.
If we end up getting torched by Atlanta in the playoffs again, I'd say we need to start a "Fire Capers" thread. But we already have one.
They had a pick 6 and a strip sack in addition to forcing a punt.
Randall definitely deserves credit for the pick six but there's no reason to take any pride in the strip sack with the Cowboys hardly trying to get something done shortly before halftime.
Randall was in the right place at the right time. Fell into his lap. I don't give him much credit for the interception itself, but he deserves a ton of credit for immediately having the awareness to get to the endzone.
But it took Terrance Williams missing a perfectly thrown ball by Dak for the interception to even be in play. That's not a huge credit to the defense. Yes, they took advantage and made the play, which is what they are supposed to do, but it's not as if they made this tremendous play. The play happened because the receiver didn't catch the ball.

As improbable as it seemed, Capers almost lost us another game. Wide open WR deep that Dak just barely missed. Absolutely unbelievable how clueless this secondary is.
THAT, was my least favorite part of the game yesterday, the D not making stops when they should have been. Dallas was forced to punt once all day! Once! Without that Randall interception, the Packers probably lose that game due to the Defense's inability to get off the field.
Exactly, he flat out sucks, finally makes a play and does that. Act like you have been there before punk.Don't forget, in Randall like fashion, he cockily flips the ball at Dak after he scores. Stupid penalty. I will take the 6 Randall, but seriously dude, you need to lose the attitude, you aren't all that good.

I have defended Dom for years saying he has inferior talent to work with. After today's pathetic defensive performance, its time for him to go. Players come and go but the main constant is that they can't cover anybody in the middle of the field.

Prescott played out of his mind, which of course isn't considered at all by many because for some reason it's always all on Capers.
I'm starting to think that is true. Packers actually have some talent on defense, but for whatever reason, don't consistently play well on every play as 11 guys. It seems like on any given play, someone misses an assignment, misses a tackle, etc. I put that on coaching.I suspect an average DC would make our personnel on defense look a lot better.
THIS, seems to be a reoccurring theme with QB's that face the Packers defense, they "play a great game", "one of their bests"....when are the Packers going to start making average QB's look average? Sam Bradford looked terrible tonight against the Bears, is he going to turn it all around and look like a Pro Bowler against the Packers? I hope not.
God, I am going to miss facing Cutler twice a year, he was one QB that could always help make our defense look great!
Trying to get into a semantics game about "wasn't good" v.s. "atrocious". lol.Pathetic is pushing it. 31 points (really 24 with the pick 6) against good offense with a QB who played perfectly wasn't good, but it wasn't pathetic or atrocious like another posted said.
Prescott played out of his mind, which of course isn't considered at all by many because for some reason it's always all on Capers and only Capers.
They were about 2 inches away from having a decent day.
Not defending Capers or making any judgement on whether he should keep his job, which I would be accused of if I didn't say.
Just saying I disagree on your assessment of the D yesterday and Prescott being great was a big part of it.
The problem is that it is not just against Dallas that this has been a glaring issue, and what I’m referencing is not getting off the field when it’s 3rd and long. We seem to give those up on a regular basis. To be fair, Dallas hasn't failed on a third or fourth and 1 all season.
Not sure if you've watched Prescott before because he's certainly better than average.
Just looking at his first deep throw while escaping Perry displayed that.
If your assessment of the defense is based on Prescott being average, then we can just disagree.
