Yeah, but the person named WAS Kimmel...part of someone trashing their legacy is the choices they make. Rodgers chose to go after a high-profile person, nobody forced him to. Rodgers is certainly wandering pretty far down the path of conspiracy theorists and it's going to become part of his legacy. Nothing as bad as Favre stealing money from the poorest state in the Union but still something that will be inevitably tied to him.
But again I pointed out the question that has she applied that same principle to others who have trashed or insinuated high profile individuals and institutions in sports such as Kaepernick, LeBron James or Mia Hamm. These individuals need not worry about a legacy. It is already written and they are in the record books. The laundry list of those who have said or did the unfavorable in the sports world is not a small one over time. Criticize yes, but apply that to all. But do not pick and choose. One of my sports heroes growing up was Muhammad Ali ( AKA Cassius Clay ). What he did in the ring was remarkable. If she was around back then would this writer attack him for breaking the law and dodging the draft and for all his social and political attacks? Or would she choose to make him a hero?

Rodgers Kimmel chose to go after a high-profile person, nobody forced him to. Rodgers has now been proven correct is certainly wandering pretty far down the path of conspiracy theorists and it's going to become part of his legacy.

Your comments required correction. Fixed them for you.

Kimmel messed with the bull and got the horns. All he had to do to completely and utterly discredit Rodgers was to state he is not a petal file <sic>. Why didn't he simply do that?

On yesterday's Pat McAfee show, Rodgers responded to criticism received from ESPN's SVP of Production, Mike Foss.
Foss stated Rodgers comments regarding Kimmel made one week ago were "a dumb and factually inaccurate joke."

Rodgers responded to the allegations that label him a "conspiracy theorist" and infer and/or imply that he believes the mainstream media is out to cancel him for his beliefs. In that context, Rodgers replied to Foss: "Mike, you're not helping."

Today, Pat McAfee announced Aaron Rodgers would not be returning as a guest this season.

ESPN just validated what Rodgers has been saying all along.
"Conspiracy theorist?"

I don't know why Rodgers bothers with Kimmel.

If they were musical groups, Rodgers would be the Beatles and Kimmel would be, at best, April Wine. Who cares what Kimmel thinks?

If I were Rodgers I would avoid most if not all of these shows. I hark back to the days of Bob Hope who threw his jokes at all folks from all sides. He was no saint himself but public figures respected him and vice versa. They could take a joke and he could dish them out. In the last decade a number of so called " conspiracies " have been validated. But by the time they eventually are media changes the narrative and politely responds with an " oh well " and the damage cannot be undone. You are correct. Kimmel should have responded as such and he should condemn anyone and everyone who is a part of that behavior. And Kimmel should not simply brush this off. This Epstein business is very, very serious. It is not to be taken lightly. One alleged suicide and one conviction up until now are not conspiracies. They are realities.

Guys like Bob Hope, Rich Little, Don Rickles, Johnny Carson, and even David Letterman were truly funny. There used to be political humor that was funny without being mean spirited.

I think it was 1962 when (I wasn't born yet - LOL) "The First Family" a comedy album about JFK and the Kennedy family living in the White House was released. VERY funny and not mean spirited. (It was later pulled from shelves after November 1963.) For those somewhat familiar with the Kennedy clan and the politics of the time, I don't think you will be disappointed.
It is out on YouTube here:

Love won offensive player of the week for the second week in a row. Per type guy on TV, neither Aaron Rodgers nor Brett Favre even won it in consecutive weeks.

This kid is awesome.
Adding: I didn't have Love as NFC Player of the Week, two weeks in a row on the Packers regular season bingo card.

He's awesome in many ways. He just seems to be himself and comfortable in his own skin.
I think he's one of those guys that doesn't get angry at much. So, when he gets angry, people respond.

This is where Love succeeds where Rodgers failed. With Rodgers, it seemed like if you weren't one foot of where you were supposed to be on any type of timing route, you didn't get the ball, and you might not get targeted the rest of the half. If you dropped a ball, you might not see it for a couple of games. That's why I say Rodgers had zero tolerance for Watson, and some tolerance for Doubs and Toure.

Lately the way things are going, that is just a new term for fortune teller/psychic as they seem to be next year's headlines.
Yeah, I think I read prior to COVID, the time from making a statement that labels one a "conspiracy theorist" to said statement being reported as actual "news" was one year. Since COVID, that timeframe has shrunk to three months. LOL.

But I'm still fairly confident ****** died in a bunker not Argentina, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon with several buddies following him, and the Earth is round without a hole to the center in Antarctica.

ETA: Really? The name of the chancellor of Germany's National Socialist party during the 30's and 40's is blocked?

Sounds more like the Pat M show has decided to avoid Rodgers, at least for awhile.

Rodgers loves to play the victim card and that he is only reporting what he reads, after he processes it. Of course, he believes his interpretation is fact and by saying it's "experts" saying it (not him), he believes that he shouldn't be criticized for regurgitating it.

I agree with you though on the notion that Rodgers just needs to lay low and salvage what football career he has left.

*Edited this in: "he believes that"

Was it Pat and the show were told to say that or your millions are gone?.

Maybe somewhere in the middle? Pat did seem relieved that the decision was made. Whether he was saying it to keep his show on ESPN, is anyone's guess.

If you watched Rodgers last appearence, before the decision was announced, Pat tried to steer and re-steer Rodgers away from the topic. He looked pretty uncomfortable with Rodgers at the end. Maybe Pat already knew what was coming from ESPN, maybe he didn’t. Of course Rodgers will just try to use this as "proof" that even he, the great and humble Aaron Rodgers can be cancelled too.

Of course his predecessor still gets his name in lights: Von Hindenburg

He likes playing mind games. Now if he was around back about 50-60 years ago he could do that and it gets laughed off. Nowadays you are dealing with both a media and celebrity culture that lives under the glass ceiling. They can throw it at you. But once you hit them it is like " How dare you!" " You know who I am? " But like Dirty Harry once said: " Yeah. You're a legend in your own mind. " So if Rodgers wants to do what he does he should stay within the circle of folks he knows and are like he is.

We agree on those, but the 10-foot tall shadow aliens landing in Miami is crazy... ;)

Censoring the name of a historical figure is odd. But, like the word I wanted to use, I think forums are just being cautious because of the frequency of Internet data scrapers.

Actually I think it is advertisers are aware of words on the screen when their ads pop up. Some words they don't like and don't want to be associated with. Hence not being able to use the familiar name for Richard on a sports board because of the connotation it has on NSFW boards.

Agree. I can't imagine Bo Melton having a 100+ yard game with #12 under center.

Love will throw to anyone who is open.

Did Ali accuse high profile people of associating with pedophiles? "Apply to all" is great in theory, and an ideal that should be striven for, but it's certainly not the way the world works.

So basically if it weren't for AR not throwing to young receivers he might have been pretty good and put up some decent numbers over the years.
