EQ St. Brown, the fact that Kizer went nuts on Twitter when we selected him says a lot IMO. Kizer has played with Gordon and Coleman and he was excited about a 6th round WR. Granted it's probably his buddy, but a pro QB being excited about a WR has me excited too.

I hear you. I really do? However, it also isn't realistic to expect a 35 year old small-ish CB to hold up for 16 games, let alone significantly contribute to the defense. I think it was a "coming home" move for T. Williams, he plays, he mentors, he retires; ingratiating himself into the Packers organization. He is in the twilight of his career and its time to plan for the next phase.

Apparently you don't know that Williams had a really good season last year playing in 13 games. So while he probably won't play all 16 he likely will play at least 12 and at a high level

I checked the stats. Respect. However, you don't know what will happen. Neither do I. Probably...likely...ok...whatever. The chances of a 35 year old slightly built CB succeeding as a #1 CB doesn't inspire confidence (personally). Tramon Williams played RCB last year, which is generally regarded as the spot for a #2 CB (most QBs throw right handed). Also, he played in tandem with arguably a top 3 CB in the entire league. The DB position is green (pun intended) and T. Will is really the only notable veteran in the group. Throwing money his way doesn't equate immediate success, and I personally feel GB (depending on training camp) would be better off playing King, Jackson, and Alexander out there and adjusting from there. The Tramon Williams signing was a "homcoming" move; for the locker room, mentorship, and any above-average production is icing.

Favorite draft moments, going from 14-27-18 and getting the guy Mayock projected at pick 14 and picking up a 1st round pick in 19.

All for the exchange price of our third and sixth while getting a fifth and seventh in return.

Absolutely awesome!

My new 2nd favorite team is whoever is playing the Saints. Hope they go 0-16.

Favorite Packer Pick:

Josh Jackson at #45: Jackson is a guy that I would have been OK with at #14 (not my first choice, but one I would have understood). So to get him at #45 is just fantastic. In terms of size, athleticism, and ball skills he compares well to Marcus Peters. He will need a lot of work in the nuances of man coverage, but he should be an effective zone corner from day one.

Favorite Non-Packer Picks:

Justin Reid @ #68 to the Texans: Reid is a 1st round caliber athlete with 1st round caliber production and the Texans had a big need at FS. How that happens at #68 is beyond me.

Sam Hubbard @ #77 to the Bengals: 43DE's who can be effective in both the run and pass game are hard to find. Those with plus athleticism and solid production at the highest level of the college game tend to go early. Hubbard's background and testing say he will be a solid player at worst. I love the value in the 3rd round.

Duke Ejiofor @ #177 to the Texans: Another Texans pick that I like a lot-- Ejiofor had strong tape but an injury prevented him from testing. I think he has a real shot at being a rotational pass rusher. At #177, that's nice.

Least Favorite Packer Pick:

Equanimeous St. Brown @ #207: I have no real issue with this pick, but it's my least favorite. Given what I've read about this player and family since he was drafted, I have real concerns that he just isn't going to work. Had it been me, I probably take Cedrick Wilson instead.

Least Favorite Non-Packer Picks:

Saquon Barkley @ #2 to the Giants: Barkley's great, but he's a running back, it's 2018, and the Giants have a bad 37 year old QB. They passed on a shot at their next franchise guy. And if they didn't want a QB, it's been reported that they could have traded back for huge offers involving multiple first round picks. So they essentially spent that huge potential draft haul on a running back. In 2018. Just awful.

Da'Ron Payne @ #13 to the Redskins: Maybe there's something with Payne that I don't get, but I see a guy who is a better run defender than pass rusher who has a few really good games in college and basically no production. How do you draft that in the top half of the first round?

Kolton Miller @ #15 to the Raiders: Miller is a great athlete but he isn't a great football player. We've seen in Spriggs how long that sort of project can last. The Raiders took him over a slew of great options.

But I really wish we could have gotten Arden Key, which I know was speculated to be the plan before Oakland trade ahead of us.

That guy is the most natural pass rusher I've ever seen in terms of fluidity and bend. Like water around the edge.

But, he's crazy.

I'm excited about getting an extra 1st next year and adding competition to the roster in need areas. CB and WR will now be places where players are fighting For roster spot. We upgraded special teams. I would have loved to have added a pass rusher, TE, and OT for depth but you only have so many picks and have to stick to your board. I think the most exciting part is getting 2 of the ton DBs and a 1 next year. I think we're throwing some stellar athletes at WR and hoping one sticks and we took a flyer late on an elite edge talent (via measurables) that's as raw as they come.

Favorite pick was Josh Jackson in the second. While he's not fast, he's got GREAT ball skills which I'll take any day over sheer speed.

Close second...all these late round receivers that fans will assure us are actually terrific and be SUPER excited about, forgetting that late round guys are basically darts thrown at a dartboard. I'm guessing one works out and whichever one that is is anybody's guess. Until then however, it's gonna be super fun reading various fans' takes on which receiver is getting shafted because MM won't give them a shot in the game.

I too am excited about Alexander. Loved the way he walked up to the podium. Liked his press conference. Liked watching his playing films. Hope he is half as good as I think he might be.

From what I've seen so far, I am excited for Alexander and to see what he can do. I like Jackson, but I think Alexander has more to offer

Kizer had St. Brown for a year and a half at Notre Dame. Great chemistry between them. Had Kizer stayed for the 2017 season at ND he and St Brown are BOTH 1st or 2nd round picks in 2018.

He was also realllly bad the year prior. We don’t know which Williams we’re going to get.

Favorite pick: Josh Jackson. Funny how watching tape he was projected mid 1st round but after the combine he dropped. The kid can play.

EQSB: quirky family doesn't bother me. Maybe a positive as far as having a strong father role model who promotes a very focused healthy, and dedicated life.

Least favorite has to be the long snapper. Heard interview and several of the knee injuries occurred on the first few days of practice in successive years.

To be fair, Bradley suffered those injuries while playing tight end. He has been healthy since moving to long snapper.

I'd hope that king is the number 1. Last season he seemed to be covering opponents best wr. I think what you'll see now is the Packers secondary will have the ability to matchup with a lot of teams entire receiving corps. You got King for tall fast receivers, Alexander for short quick fast recievers, and Josh Jackson for the davantae Adams type receiver. Throw in Williams and house that's a pretty solid top five

The Packers cornerbacks definitely have potential entering this season but there are still several question marks regarding the position group.

If you hadn't thrown in House; I would have agreed with you. Though I think Alexander will hold his own on taller receivers with the exception of someone like Julio Jones and giant tight ends close to the end zone.

It's definitely fine having someone like House as your #5 cornerback.

Couldn't agree more.

Having House as a starter is not good. As a #4 or 5, more than fine.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised to see House not make the roster.

Locks:

Williams
King
Alexander
Jackson

The Rest:
Rollins
House
Pipkins
Hawkins
Waters

I would imagine we'll keep 6-7. The battle between the bottom 5 will be tight imo. Think Pipkins and Waters have a real chance, but that makes us really young.

I really like Pipkins. Fine seeing House and Rollins walk.
