Defense, in general, looks greatly improved.

Jaire Alexander appears to be ahead of Josh Jackson

Montavious Adams is a beast. Saw him get a 'sack', a pressure, and then stood up 2 OL doubleteam on a run play.

The 3 rookie WRs all looked good at times and bad at others. None are ready to light it up at this level - but all could get there. St Brown got more opportunities.

The OL did not look good. Manhandled by the DL. Hoping that is saying more about the DL than the OL. If Bahk is out, we are screwed.

I don't know but I hope if it is some kind of sprain; they let him heal completely b4 playing him. Sometimes the docs say "he can't hurt it anymore, he is only in pain." I would prefer to be cautious. Wait till the pain goes away. That is why some players say they were playing with injuries all year. Let it heal! imho The sky is not falling.

then that doctor is an idiot. If you sprain an ankle, you can hurt it more while you're in pain. It's telling you it's damaged. It's telling you you've lost proprioceptive capabilities. your ankle will be more unstable, it will leave you open to further injury at that site and others along the biomechanical chain.

Just reflecting some more, AR didnt look great last night. I wonder how much practicing against Capers defense made it easy for him. He probably knows capers system better than capers after all these years. I think practicing against a new scheme is going to make AR that much better. As they say, iron sharpens iron.

I only watched 1/2 of the practice. Hope to watch again today.

I also missed mentioning Geronimo. He played well. Clay looked quick and strong out there as well.

Looked to me like the offensive line was getting schooled in pass pro. Run game found some holes though. TV coverage was lame. To much away from the field time. Alot of so-so mamas with their too cute tykes. Should maybe have done some split screen stuff. Even do the commercials with a window.

The time I was able to watch, I saw several would be sacks on all of the QB's. Hope that speaks well of the DL.

I remember the same conversation a few years ago Concerning the Defense having a clear edge over the Offense early in the season. It tends to level out as the preseason progresses if I recall?
I’m most happy that Montravious Adams is finally stepping into his role. As I’ve said in the past, it’s like the 2017 season stole our 3rd and 4th round draft picks to foot injuries. I don’t think their limited playing time last year is going to give us a proper evaluation of their future impact. But that limited experience does propel those 2 players ahead of the 2018 draft class through confidence in their environment from being involved in team activities and end of season practices and even some limited live action. I also expect both of these players to get some self retribution for that tough start.
2018 has a major underlying advantage for us. It’s the equivalent of adding 6 Defensive draft picks going into this preseason.
1st round: Jaire Alexander
2nd round: Josh Jackson
3rd round: Montravious Adams
3rd round: Oren Burks
4th round:Vince Biegel
7th round: James Looney
7th round: Kendall Donnerson

That’s a significant amount of draft capital being injected into this defense and it should pay dividends in strengthening our depth on that side of the ball. While no one can 100% predict a rising star ahead of time. The sheer volume of D draft capital increases or chances of improving on that side of the ball. I’m truly (more than ususual)excited to see which players will rise to the occasion regular season when their number is called.

The Packers have added that many rookies on defense before and it didn't result in the unit being improved. There's some hope some of those players can contribute this season though.

I've read about a little panic in KC with Mahomes throwing 7 practice INTs as of a few days ago. I also read that Rodgers' INT count was also up to 7 at around the same time.

What does it mean? Not much, not yet.

Practice involves experimentation, especially with a bunch of new receivers. It's where a QB will throw balls to test receivers, to see what they can and can't do.

If the picks continue in preseason should we be concerned? That will depend on what those throws look like, and even then the experimentation is continuing.

Projecting money game performance from practice reps is a dicey proposition. Preseason is a better look. Money games are where the rubber meets the road. Ultimately, where a player or a team is at by week 4 of the regular season is when you have a good idea of what you have and where you're at.

I don’t think so. There is going to be crests and troughs in every QBs statistical analysis. I’d much rather we get the INTs out of the way now while they don’t count. This is the time to test the waters for Aaron.

Rodgers mentioned during an interview that he's trying some stuff in practice related to a new scheme being implemented. In my opinion there's no reason to be worried.

If it was a rookie trying to just get floating in the league, MAYBE i'm slightly concerned. But it's Rodgers and he's done all of this before, and as good as anyone has ever done it. It's more likely he's pushing himself on purpose, giving the WR's chances to show exactly what they can do in certain situations, or challenging the DB's to see what they can do. Or just flat out give them some confidence is probably a higher probability than Rodgers is having trouble throwing like he used to. I am not worried about it at all

If there's a current fad in the NFL, it's that teams with good offensive lines are winning. From the comments here, sounds like that is a weak spot so far. Still plenty of time to improve, though.

The Packers offensive line should be one of the best units in the league as long as the starters stay healthy. Quality depth is a question mark though.

My observations now that I actually watched all of "Family Night".

Kizer looked like :poop:

Boyle didn't look half bad.

King if healthy could be a force.

EQ has a future in Green Bay

JK Scott was soooooooo worth a 5th round pick.

Fireworks are a lot more impressive in person.

What are the odds of that?

I agree the chances of the offensive line staying completely healthy are small but for example in 2014 every single starter was able to play at least 88% of the snaps that season. The Packers would definitely benefit from that happening again in '18.

Adams will be special if healthy.

You'll see the REAL St. Brown in game situations, but more so with former college teammate Kizer in the huddle.
