I think I said it elsewhere that this is one of those games that we really should win quite handily and it'd be disappointing if we don't. That said, I could also see it being a bit of a "trap game" as well. Their offense is godawful, but that defense is still pretty legit. They have only allowed 21+ points twice this year, so I don't expect us to blow the doors off of them, as much as I'd like to see it... They have also still been decent at home, and their only wins have come against teams with similar pass rush successes to ours. But, then again, maybe it's a game for us to bump up those numbers (hopefully).

I fully agree. Add to what you said that the Bears team, players, coaches and fans know that their season is about to be fully flushed and a win on Sunday might just do something to save it.

I hate to say it, but this game is much more important for the Bears, than it is for the Packers. Let's hope the Packer coaching staff can impress upon the players that THIS is a critical game for the Packers as well. It's a division game, and if they want to be a playoff team and a contending one at that, these are the games that they have to win.

Don't see this as a trap game. All division games and especially rivalry games can be close or just end up much different than expected. I call it as a must win for us. The division is a long shot at this point but we are leading for a wild card spot. I'd like to stay in that lead till the end of the regular season.

If the Bears lose on Sunday, Caleb changes his profile pic to the one below.

All in Favor, say "Da Bears Still Suck"

Da Bears Still Suck!!! They're circling the drain, the Packers just need to put the final nail in their 2024 season-coffin.

My fear is the new OC opens things up and he is willing to take more chances. Caleb does really well scrambling and improvising and he may have a big game.
Interesting you bring that up because it was a focus of discussion I watched yesterday. I think that’s totally possible, just not this quickly. I agree with LeRoy Butler on this one he answered that exact question from Silverstein. His answer to that concern was in not exactly his words “absolutely not” and his answer was immediate. He says while the dialogue WILL be more open and there will be some modest adjustments.. it would be highly unlikely they divert heavily from their current O structure inside 1 week. Not happening, at least at any substantial level anyway. It’s obviously a very good question though.

I am thinking the Packers get on track in this game. The passing game is more efficient, the OLine plays well, and the defense is aggressive. Packers got things in sync last season about this time and MLF does very well after a bye.

No doubt da Bears will be up for this game as a rivalry should be. Fired OC brings a wrinkle to our defensive game plan, but I think we should be fine.

Caleb is doing about as well as I expected. He only needs some maturity and leadership qualities and he will be very good for the Bears. He isn't there yet, but this season he will have a top 10 all time season for the Bears. And of course that speaks more to the pathetic Bear QB history than Caleb's abilities.

Packers by 15.
Caleb also needs a decent OL. That guy is constantly running for his life. If they surround him with players he could be a thorn in our sides for a while but QBs go to Chicago to die.

So as mentioned we should have BOTH J’aire and Williams back. Obviously that’s huge. To give some sense of confidence that we have in Evan Williams, if we exclude the last game he played and injured himself earlier in the game. The previous 3 consecutive contests Evan played ~89% of total D snaps (not including ST) only one with a higher snap count was Xavier McKinney. Those two guys are our definitive starting Safeties now.

Also. They began to work Carrington Valentine back into the D mix on a heavier basis against Detroit. His D usage nearly Tripled over the previous game and he had been relegated to only ST for several games previously.
This Bye week means we should see BOTH Valentine + Alexander available if needed. Again to show our confidence in Valentine, he played a total of 75% of D+ST snaps and 61.4% available snaps at Defense against Detroit. Carrington appears to be our definitive CB4 in pecking order.

Our DB room is fully healthy. Both Starting Safeties and ALL CB’s will be available.

The good thing about this is I have absolutely zero expectation for this game.
Once again, my franchise is in utter disarray because they can't do the simple things and make easy decisions. Either absolutely should've been fired and nothing is going to change until we get Ben Johnson next year so congratulations on the win. I am absolutely embarrassed by what my franchise has done this year.

I did not think it was possible to be this bad with this talent on the team.
So flame away....... but know this I still love my Bears. I still hate you guys and even if you beat us by 100 you guys still won't win a title so ultimately we're both ending up in the same spot.......not first place.
I don't think you were wise to choose the avatar you are using. The Bears logo is also shaped like a toilet..

Traditionally, this is the time of year that Da Bears go into hibernation mode, so the Packers might as well give them a nice send-off!

Chicago's remaining strength of schedule is BRUTAL.

Currently it sits at 0.708 which is by far the toughest in the league. Cleveland has the second-hardest which is 0.587.

For some context the gap between #1 and #2 is same as the gap between #2 and #25 (Arizona at .469) by my count.

We sit at 13th with a remaining SoS of 0.513

The Bears beat some bad teams and the Rams so far. I thought they had beaten some quality opponents, but some of the worst teams in Panters, titans, and Jaguars. They played 2 good teams in the Texans and Commanders and took both to the wire. But they looked good in the process. At least the little I watched of them they did. Not sure they are far away from a talent standpoint excepting the OLine (lots of injuries).

I dont think they are a pushover and I hope we take them seriously.

This is mostly because they have the Packers and Vikings 2x each and another go at the Lions. Best division in the NFL.

This isn't a trap game. The Bears are in disarray and not a very good team right now. The players will take the game seriously. I will laugh it up through game time.

They've got the Lions twice yet too actually. Weird scheduling in that it's mid-November and they're just now getting to their first divisional opponent :p

Remaining schedule:
Packers (H)
Vikings (H)
Lions (A)
49ers (A)
Vikings (A)
Lions (H)
Seahawks (H)
Packers (A)

Bears might possibly have the #1 pick in the draft AGAIN? How will they squander it this time, another QB perhaps?

That’s Brutal. We might be their last chance to ruin their draft order.

I’d rather fight a Bunch of Angry Monkeys led by an Evil Witch on the Way to steal her Broomstick at her house!

A Punter

A really really good.. Field Altering Punter
They have a decent punter in Tory Taylor, but maybe they will cut him because he is too good? ;)

At some point this season I read that Taylor had more punting yards, than the Bears offense had gained. It isn't the case any more, but it's still pretty close.

Tory Taylor: 2,153 yards

Bears Offense: 2,499 yards

Just to put it in perspective. Packer punter Daniel Whelan has punted for 1,478 yards and the Packer offense has gained 3,515 yards.

Punter. Actually, that is the one thing they have, and he only cost them a 4th rounder.
