2025 Draft Prospects for Packers

Really? I have not watched him enough. The times I have seen him he reminds me of Hutchinson. I don't think he deserves to be the highest paid Edge player at his age. Then again they overpaid for McKinney but got way more than they paid for. I think Hutchinson is too old for that kind of money. Would still love to see him in G&G though, and he's be worth the small risk.

I just have a feeling he'll in GB next season. I have faith in Gluten and Ball to strike a good deal, and if they overpay a bit, well it's only money.

Cap space and the cap itself is the only thing saving the NFL or at least small market teams like the Packers. Shared revenue also helps.

I see the Bengals are in danger of losing their stadium and having to move out of Cincinnati. Seems the tax payers have grown tired of footing the bill. I can't blame them one bit. I love my Packers, but if I had to kick in extra money via taxes, I wouldn't love them so much.

Good point. There's a lotta money but only so much cap space. And that's another reason I don't like the idea of giving a record-setting edge contract to Maxx Crosby.

If you are going to use them and baseball as a comparison to how small market teams can make it in MLB, include all those years when the Brewers weren't making it. Also, Baseball has farm leagues, that helps find young/cheap talent.

Look forward to that. When was the Senior Bowl played? Does that attract the best candidates, or do they sit it out and wait for the combine, rather than risk injury? Just curious because I know a lot of players declaring for the draft will skip their team's bowl game.

It's being played this Sunday. The 3 practices and the game draws a lot of NFL Scouts. Kind of the pre-combine for many.

As far as if it attracts the best candidates. A lot of the top players that feel that their draft position towards the top is somewhat secure, don't participate, for fear of injury. However, guys wanting to improve their position in the draft definitely come to do just that.

I'm not saying Willis should be or would be, but he is the perfect candidate for a conditional pick to be included in the trade....so it could be:

2025 3rd rounder
2026 5th rounder that becomes a 4th if he starts half the 2025 season, becomes a 3rd if he is a top10 QB in a named category say TDs or Passing Yards or Passer Rating....

Each team in a QB trade scenario understand his value could be a bust or BOOM and each team would want to protect some against that.

I'm against trading Willis. We haven't had the greatest luck finding a backup QB.

Got ya. Fortunately, I am not paying for the Brewers, Packers or Bucks through taxes. I suppose that on the rare occasions that I visit those counties that tax their residents I might. However, even when I attend a game, I get in and get out and don't spend money near the location of the games.

Some say that public funding for Pro Teams is less expensive than losing those teams income tax revenue. While there may be some truth to that, I'm not a fan of public extortion, by businesses that make plenty of money and could find more direct sources of income to pay their expenses.

If the NFL required each NFL team to set aside $30M or so per year, as a sinking fund for stadium repairs or future builds, tax payers wouldn't be held hostage by their local team begging for more money.

The post you quoted was not an argument for it, just outlining what a package if you included conditional would have to look like. Unless someone is starting a package with a 2nd rounder this year minimum, I'm not answering calls.

Now if Willis can be part of a package to bring in a bonafide improvement to the roster you do have to consider if you're the GM.

It is invite only. The other thread lists all of them. Nagy and his staff try to select the best prospects, of course some don't come, decline invite but especially of late vastly more high profile guys are there....

2024 First Rounders - of the 32 there were 10 that were Senior Bowl participants.

110 Senior Bowl participants were drafted in the NFL draft. The Senior Bowl roster is usually around 120 players (60 on each team)
