This entire team has regressed with accepting of AJ and RG maybe 1 or 2 others. You can't just blame this on young players. It's the Crapshot coaching stuff starting with Lafleur and Barry.

Time to clean house before they waste this roster. I dontbcare if they beat trash Vegas team.

Fire this coaches. And if Gur don't act fire him too.
I'm guessing 1996 is the year you were born, right?

The success of this season isn't dependent on a win tonight, but I do think that playoff contention might be. Success in 2023-24 looks like Jordan Love establishing himself as a good QB and developing. If he does that, I don't really care how many games they win. However, pushing for the playoffs behind him would be a big bonus. But if they can't beat the Raiders with a relatively healthy roster, I just can't see them being good enough to make it to the postseason this year.
We have a relatively soft schedule in comparison to past seasons. If we start 3-2? God willing we can stay healthy and squeak in as a Wild card etc.

Patrick Taylor has already been called up from the Practice Squad for the 3rd (& last time) so he needs to be signed to the 53 for tonight if/when Jones can't go. Hopefully we see a healthy dose of Wilson as we know Dillon's limitations.

I didn't realize that Love had the worst completion % of starting QB's.

The young group of receivers better clean up their routes and soon or this could be a long season and a tough learning curve for Love.

MLF saw that the Lions smothered the Falcons run game and felt they would do the same to us. And since our 4th quarter come back against NO came through the air he thought " Let's keep it going. "
Yeah and with Jones coming back from an injury, it was probably the right strategy. I just wish MLF had made adjustment before the 2H. Love was getting no time to pass on 3 or 5 step drop backs. MLF could have rolled him left or right or called a few screens. All the Lions defenders had to do was pin their ears back and go after the QB.

The Lions only scored 7 in the 2H. And that would have been 3 without Walker's penalty. But the game was decided in the 1H. Again, I just don't get why MLF, the DC, and/or the OC can't make adjustments when an opponents strategy is so obvious.

And I see Jones will be out tonight against the Raiders. Not good. With Rodgers gone, this is Jones' team.

Jones not playing
I just saw that. Not good. He may be showing some signs of wear. He's always been pretty reliable. I think it's still his hamstring - an injury that can be very difficult to heal. I hope Wilson gets some carries. Dillon is not the backup anymore.

I remember seeing that. I guess we’ve had some pretty good excuses so far. The poor guy just hadn’t had ideal help. They talked about 3 WR with returning experience, but I’d argue we can exclude Toure with a minuscule 5 career receptions to start the year. I’d also argue Christian Watson because he’s been out or very limited.
We’ve had 1 WR with any meaningful past experience to date (Doubs). Now notice Love’s 62.5 completion % for his 1 known quantity. Very Normal range

Then we lose our starting LT and LG, which just exasperated an already somewhat volatile WR group.

As they said, time should be our best healer. Rodgers started with a much more experienced grouping and we can even see the improvement with him. Aaron Rodgers
2008 63.6%
2009 64.7% (+1.1 increase)
2010 65.7% (+1.0)
2011 68.3% (+2.6)
You can see the natural progression there.
I think we can expect a 1-2% increase as the year transpires into that 58% + area and something similar with Jordan surpassing 60% next season.

I think he will do better with a bit of a run game
Absolutely.

Due to Aaron Jones missing tonight, we just elevated Taylor and released Hollins (probably temporarily). I’d like to see us work Emmanuel Wilson more this game. Don’t make him throw any passes to Love though :whistling:

That is why I picked the Raiders. We have no idea what we have. Probably means Love will have to throw and try a few Jet sweeps. They will only show a few runs. Not good. But it is what it is. If the Raiders play like the Saints we have a chance. Kids get their NFL experience.

Beginning to think the end of his career may be closer than we thought. I'd like to see Wilson get at least 10 touches.
The scariest thing is the pass blocking. This is when you wish we still had Jamaal Williams. Too bad we could never find another John Kuhn.

Whats the % when factoring in true misses and not young WRs running the wrong routes and dropped balls.

If the packers lose tonight, then the season is over. Raiders are a bad team but Green Bay is soft so it won't be a cakewalk.
Raiders haven't beat GB since 1987.
This game is the last opportunity I will give Lafleur to prove he can coach at this level.
If we can't beat the bad teams, then we'll be stuck in the mud for some time.

Go pack!
