Regrettably - Barry is still calling the plays on Defense. Jacobs is due for a break out game. Raiders 30 Pack 16
I don't think that the Raiders have it in them to score 30 points. I think the score will be much lower. Closer to 13-10. I'm taking the Packers in this one. In the same respect, I could easily see a scenario where the Raiders win this one.

What is, or continues to be, wrong with Stokes? Thanks for any info.
Stokes hurt his knee last season and had to recover from that. It was then reported out, and you'll never believe this, that during rehab he tweaked his hamstring. He's practicing this week though.

The talent level of the Raiders, position by position, is nowhere close to GB's. Their studs are Jacobs, Adams, & Crosby. Their O &D lines aren't close to what the Packers have faced so far. If this isn't a "get right" game for the Packers I don't know if there is one. GB 34, LV 13.

Maybe he started rehabbing too early and too hard. Surgery causes all the muscles etc. to get very weak. They say to build up the strength first.

It should be a get right game for the Packers, but who is not to say it won't be for the Raiders. Jimmy G. is still in concussion protocol, but with it being a Monday night game he has an extra day to get healthy. He's listed as questionable right now. Packers can't stop the run. Small sample size of 4 games, but it does not look good. Jacobs is the two time defending rushing champ. Could be a get right game for him. The Packers offense has been pretty inept. Minus a few drives, they can't move the ball. I don't see the Packers scoring 34 points. If I'm being honest, which I'm not sure why I would lie, I'm just as nervous about this game as any other on the schedule. My faith in this team is low. Which, I should say, was what I expected.

We definitely need to start quicker. Some first downs would be good. Tom against Crosby will be interesting.

He had lis franc injury and a meniscus tear in knee. Honestly, time table wise he's still about normal for this type of injury. Being back out there is a great sign hopefully.

Just saw on the McAfee show that we are the third worst team in the league with three and outs - defined as not getting a touchdown or first down or turning the ball over on a series. 44% of all of our drives are three and outs. That has to drastically improve.

Yes, our offense is a mess right now. There is talent there, but the oline has been rough. The real problem is that they have not really had to play a hard team besides the Lions. The bears stink. The Falcons stink and the Saints stink. Yet, that is still the Pack's statistics. I know the defensive numbers are not great, but they have to keep trotting out there after all the 3 & outs. Don't mean to make excuses, but if the offense did anything it would be helpful to rest up the defense. I've said it a couple times already, but I'm nervous about this game.

Absolutely.

Keep in mind that we are historically young Offensively. All but 1 Offensive player last Thursday is on a Rookie deal. That player was 6 year veteran Aaron Jones and he was on a snap count and clearly not 100%. He’s played 48 snaps this season. I’d challenge any other NFL team to say that. We are very, very young and I mean young as in maybe one of the top 10 most inexperienced Offenses since 2000 (roughly 768 teams) or before. I’d be curious to see which team historically had less experience on Offense than the 2023 Packers.

That said. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us. These are still grown men and terrific athletes. They’ll be expected to all play like 2nd or 3rd contract veterans because the scoreboard doesn’t care. We are currently tied as a Top 10 scoring Offense with the Denver Broncos (25.0 pts/GM). We are currently between the Baltimore Ravens and KC Chiefs!! To be honest, I wouldn’t have believed you had you told me (before this season started) that we’d be a top 10 scoring Offense going into week 5.

It’s time for this Defense to rise up. This game for me is all about our Defense winning a game for us. All eyes are on Joe Barry and the Run game and I don’t envy him right this moment. They need to hold LV to a teens score and I’m being entirely serious.

Thanks. With the Packers I'll believe anything when it comes to injuries, especially injuries on top of injuries, and especially hamstring injuries.

lis franc is a foot injury, right? I know those involve lengthy recoveries. The meniscus tear depends on the severity. Those are usually treated with an arthroscope. Thanks Ty.

Correct, foot
Yeah I just googled lis franc. It can be minor, but when it's football related, it's usually severe. For anyone not a professional athlete, fusion with metal and screws fixes it but impairs mobility. So the challenge is fixing it so the athlete can return to the field. And that takes time.

We talk all the time about knees, shoulders, preventing concussions - but damn foot and ankle injuries are the toughest to fix. Well, if you wanna start in the NFL that is.

The GB offensive skill players should all finally be healthy & on the field, togther. Aaron Jones, C. Watson & Musgrave will be available for Love. I'm hoping Love takes an early, successful, deep shot to Watson or Musgrave to help soften up the Raider D.

However, LambeauLambo did call the Bear victory correct on TNF.

I don't think the Packers are going to go into any game this season where I feel confident they will get a win. I think Jimmy G. will be back from his concussion. He has an extra day to rest with it being a Monday night game. I also feel that Jacobs hasn't had a big game yet this season. It kind of feels like a get right game for him against the Packers abysmal rushing defense. I do feel like the Packers are the better team, but I don't think it will be a blow out. One bad turnover for the Pack could cost them this one. The offense has been horrendous and extremely streaky. Both teams rank in the bottom both offensively and defensively. I'm going to say the Packers win this one, but it will be low scoring and a tight one. Packers 13 Raiders 10 in a snoozer.
Crunch time is critical. But we cannot come out and lay an egg like Thursday.

Agree on Jones. Once the game started, I was certain he was still out. For some reason, MLF called a crazy high number of passes.

I don't think it would have changed the end result, but maybe they get 7 on that INT instead of 3. No matter. Hopefully he's now healthy and ready for the R8DRS. Gonna need him and the running game back to give Love a break here and there.

And off topic, but what is wrong with Dillon? Is it mostly the poor performance and injuries of the OL, or has Dillon just burned out. Kind of looks like the latter. He'll never be a guy with a lot of moves, but right now, he has none.
Now the tabloids are fabricating that we got Justin Henry in a monster trade. How stupid do you think fans are?

Stokes coming back from his surgery said he ran into some hamstrings as well. And thar delayed his return even more.

I haven't seen any mention of the Packers in on a Derrick Henry trade? Other teams may want him, but he'd help very little, imho, in GB. We need, & will get, Jones, Watson & Musgrave back together to allow the offense to blossom.

And I would think Tennessee still needs him.

Even if a trade could be worked out, I'm not in favor of acquiring a RB so close to his expected expiration date. GB has plenty of real or budding impact players - Jones, Watson, Musgrave, Reed, Doubs. This is the year for them to learn how to play together. And hopefully this is also a stepping-stone year for Love.

I think the D is ready now. Their problem is leadership, off and on the field.

So this is a bit of a honeymoon year for the Packers. By next year, expectations will be much higher.

Instead of a Derrick Henry it may be time to acquire an O lineman instead.
