It's a 5th round pick, so it's whatever... but there were positions I'd rather have seen with this 'whatever' pick.

5T/3T prospect who played end and iDL in the league. Decent production. Strong athletic profile as an iDL.

Zierlein seems to like him-- graded him higher than the 5th round.

At this point in the draft, forget targetting positions and just take players who you think have a shot to do something.

Kingsley Keke is one of the oddest players I've ever scouted. On one hand, he has wild flexibility and bend for an interior defensive lineman, capable of contorting his body to reduce his surface area while cornering some tough angles to the pocket. On the other hand, he's not explosive at all and takes several steps to get to top speed. He has some terrific rush moves, but he's slow to deploy them at times and doesn't finish as often as you'd like to see.

7 sacks as a DL in the SEC. Big broad dude that slimmed down this past year and shifted more outside than years previous.

It will be interesting what staff does with him, his frame can easily hold 320 if they want him inside or stay slim and more outside.

5th rounder...so not expecting the world, but shows skill.

Gute’s strategy of doubling down on the defense, and addressing TE/OL leads me to believe that he is confident in the continued progression of EQ and MVS.

I do seem to think they he found a couple of really good prospects in those two. And who knows, JMon might emerge in year 2.

I'm curious on Keke as well, he was totally off my board because of how odd he is, both testing and the tape. I'm thinking he's a versatile swiss army knife in the instance that Lowry or Daniels go down, with the flexibility to play inside as well. However, I'm not expecting a ton from him honestly.

So many defensive players. I was hoping we'd buffer the offense.

The biggest disappointment was no meltdown in the shoutbox.

I wanted Mack Wilson or Dennis Daley. But In Gute We Trust.

I support this pick!

Mainly, because I have no choice in the matter. :D

Wilkerson will not be resigned.

Thompson will love this pick! Keke's first love was Basketball! :cautious:

Drafting this kid makes more sense to me than resigning Wilkerson to a one year deal. Wilkerson would almost certainly be better than him in 2019, however I think this team needs at least a year with LaFleur before they're seriously in contention. They need to be aiming for a 2020-2023 window. Older, one year players don't fit that projection. All they'd really do is take snaps away from younger players who need to develop.

Would have preferred a RB, but I think this is a good value pick in the 5th.

The other players who went soon after:

Daylon Mack
Joe Jackson
Cameron Smith
Blake Cashman

I will say Keke had 7 sacks last year in the SEC, so there is something there. I'm just not seeing enough of what that is. I want to go back to the tape and see if I'll see it this time around.

Mack, Smith, and Cashman were all players I liked for GB too.

I like Joe Jackson, but he doesn't fit here in GB. And he tested terribly.

Why not? Ironically his pro comparison is Z. Smith....

He did test bad, but he's a power rusher, as long as he can move the line back and reset the edge, I'm happy. Pettine could have taught the rest I'm sure.

With the additions of Z. Smith, Gary and now Keke, it's safe to say Wilkerson will not be back.

Definitely an area I wanted them to address so, I'm happy. Was disappointed watching a bunch of speedy backs and receivers go by in the 4th round around where we were supposed to pick. We'll see.

Not sure how 2 out of those 3 have any bearing on Wilkerson as Gary (who very possibly wont play much barring injury) and Z Smith will both be standing up and only in the line in dime situations but it's certainly entirely possible they dont have any intention of bringing him back with his injury history.

Seems more likely this a pick to groom for a year and "hopefully" take over for Daniels

I don't know why you would say Gary "won't play much" and if you see Gary and Z. Smith playing down in dime there is no reason to think they won't get some snaps in nickel.

There is no reason to think it will be all the time, since it certainly won't be, or both at the same time, but by the end of the season it could be a full rotational equivalent between them.

Well I said barring injury because Gary is at best a project and 4th in line among standup linebackers and in most Nickle situations hes going to be behind Z Smith, Clark and Daniels on the line

Gary is a project at best. He shouldnt be penciled in for anything this year. Sure the coaches might coach him up quickly but odds are it's going to take at least a year to turn him into a productive player if they're able to
