Bounce back we did and moved out in front of Minny, and thank heaven the Cowboys also pulled it out today.

Obviously, the Bears are now the team to beat after their big win today.

congrats fellas, like I said you were the far better team. I'm happy both teams made it out mostly injury-free. Good luck on the rest of the year!

Slow down Gramps...I could barely figure out who Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris were! ;)

Now I'm looking for the disappointed rating. Czonk was my first favorite player ever. I wore jersey number 39 in youth football even though I was a lineman. Back then they apparently didn't care.

4 missed tackles is a great improvement for this defense, LOL. A reporter asked MM during Monday's press conference: "I've asked you and Pettine about missed tackles in the first 3 weeks. I counted 4 missed tackles yesterday, so what did you guys do better this week?"

The tackling definitely improved vs. the Bills with PFF assigning them three only missed ones. They had 35 over the first three games according to them.

I think you have to operate under the assumption that Rodgers will be impaired for the duration. Healing requires rest, and that's something he doesn't get while practicing, however limited, and being on the field every week.
Well, this "assumption" has already been proven false. You know what they say about assuming...:)

It has? Limited practice again this past week, playing with the brace, mobility and speed not fully restored, with a heavy dose of ball control passing again in the game plan. By Rodgers telling, this week wasn't any different than the last where he practiced on Thursday this past week only because he thought the team needed it. The only assumption proven false so far is 2/3 of "2-4 weeks".

I know what they say about assuming. So far that addage is only half right and not my half :whistling:, though I don't take pleasure in that.

Perhaps not in this case unless one is wagering, but in general, assumptions are a necessary part of the human condition. Whether one knows it or not, one makes probabalistic predictions every hour of every day. That saying is just an "I told you so", too easy, unless know facts were ignored which is not the case here. When using that saying, one should at least get the 20/20 hindsight correct.

Anyone with eyes can see his knee has greatly improved since he first injured it. I take it you didn't watch this past weekend's game? There was barely even a noticeable limp compared to before. He will be 100% after the bye week. Definitely not a season-long injury like you claimed.

"Impaired" means not 100%. He remains impaired. That should be obvious.

100% after the bye in LA. The improvement should be obvious at this point. ;)
That's an "assumption". What is it people say about that again? :coffee: You said my assumption was "proven false". That's false, now by your own admisssion. End of story.

I have no problem with Rodgers being dissatisfied with the offense's performance. While "perfect is the enemy of the good" has its place, if the objective is winning a Super Bowl (which should be the case) a very high level of performance should be the target. I'm OK if he's always dissatisfied up through the post-Super Bowl interview. There's always room for incremental improvement even after a "we played well" assessment.

So, that's not the problem. Laying it off on the play calling without taking any personal responsibility is the problem. Rodgers was clearly not his sharpest self in that game.

Rodgers said, to paraphrase, that he provides his ideas of what should go into a game plan but he doesn't create it. Given his complaints about the plan, this suggests he believes he was not sufficiently heard. Conversely, if he has it in the back of his mind, "this is not the play I want to run or the throw I want to make", performance will suffer. It's fairly evident that he thought the game plan and the calls were too conservative, particularly in the second half.

There needs to be a meeting of the minds. The conducter and the virtuoso performer need to find agreement on how to interpret the notes on the page, one way or the other.

You said the injury would last all year. Yet, after a couple weeks, Rodgers has noticeably improved to the point he was sprinting out of the tunnel pre-game. You were wrong buddy. It's okay, you should be happy, since it means Rodgers is getting healthy.

Do we actually know how many plays Rodgers audibles out of? Does he have that discretion available to him at all times?

When plays don't work, it seems like some want to immediately point the finger at the guy who called it. While I am not absolving MM from making some bad calls in his days, there are so many other things that go into a play being executed properly VS it was just a bad call or a bad audible off of a call.

Maybe time to move on? Jeeeesh......Rodgers is still wearing a brace, Rodger himself said the injury is still bothering him and doesn't know how long it will last. IF he declares himself 100% healthy in week 16, are you going to do a butt wiggling dance in HRE's face, because you were right?

Rodgers needs to play better, but I understand his frustrations with the play calling. I'm sure that he has the ability to audible out of certain things, we see him hand motion and things of the like quite often. But I also don't think he can (or will) audible out of everything McCarthy calls just because he doesn't like it.

I think when McCarthy had the lead and knew the defense was playing well, he let his foot off the gas a little bit. I think Rodgers wanted to emphatically demoralize the Bills. They'll figure it out.

If Rodgers starts wheeling and dealing outside of the pocket i.e. late 2016, I think that would prove he's pretty damn close to 100%. I've seen differences in Rodgers by the week, it appears to me like he's slowly but surely gaining more mobility. To me, that suggests he's improving.

I think Rodgers and his mobility will be pretty close to a non issue after the bye week. Just my opinion.

As a side note though, and I might be wrong, but I think Rodgers has said that it's feeling better than it was.

I liked better the first profane link you provided then replaced, where Jackson follows his observation about assumptions with an if-then proposition which is a kind of assumption. :coffee:

Edit: You changed it back! I'll repost my "funny".
