Hate to be a buzzkill, but Rodgers was honestly very poor last week. Look at these tweets/clips

Aaron is clearly hurting, but man, there were a ton of points left on the field. I'm thinking AR12 will be very determined to light it up on Sunday.

What's the Vegas O/U for Matthews roughing the passer penalties this week?

I'd say one because I think if it happens again (again as in once this game not again in this game) he will be ejected.

I'll be attending my first game at Lambeau. I will take partial credit for our victory.

If they win I'll give you full credit I don't care.

How does Why would.....someone put a RED X on this?

Everything out of Green Bay, including Rodgers himself stated this.

Its HRE's shadow

You see that little red x at the bottom right of the post? Touch that or click it with your mouse :)

I like to help where I can

Did I do it right :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I'll give it a day or two then I'll remove it. I'm not the only one who can be a smart ***.

It has never been stated that the injury will last the entire season. That is simply false. Additionally, it was reported at this past Saturday's practice that Rodgers' knee appeared to be making progress, based on his movement, activity, etc.

So, that is why someone would put a "red x" on that post. ;)

Well, that and the guy who made the post that was disagreed on.

But you are right, that was never specifically said but I think it is reasonable to expect this sort of injury to linger with pure rest being the best way to get it to go away quickly. It might get better by the last part of the season but IMO its going to be something that bothers him all season long.

We played a sloppy game in Maryland. That’s expected week 1 and maybe week 2.. not week 3

11 Penalties put us backwards 115 yards, not to mention the yards lost on the outcome of said plays. Granted there’s the 1 CM3 sack which is a petty call. Even with that call erased we had 100 yards in penalty yardage! We have to play cleaner than that. That game would’ve been much closer had we cut those fouls in half.
We all know how important momentum is, those are drive killers and it’s unacceptable by week 4. Keeping those fouls to a soft roar and improving on our concentration catching the ball before we turn up field and this is a game in the W column.

I believe Mr. Kruse has ovestated the case.

The first clip does not look good...time, a clean pocket and Rodgers looking downfield. How about the rest?

In the second clip, Rodgers is looking Geronimo's way, sees the double team, takes a step back, and looks for another option. As he's looking away, the Redskin defenders get balled up with each other. The idea that a QB can maintain a panoramic view of all receivers at all times, if that's the premise here, is a falacy. It is contrary to the idea of a progression, if not the functioning of the eye and brain.

In the third clip, Rodgers is looking Cobb's way and saw somthing he didn't like. Instead of staying vertical, Cobb started angling toward the sideline into Norman's closing angle, one assumes to position outside the FS's closing range. Perhaps the mistake here is Cobb's in not staying vertical; that FS was a pretty good distance away and he's in backpedal mode not closing mode. Cobb may have shown Rodgers something he did not expect at the top of that route so he went into reboot.

As for the 4th. clip, Kruse overstates the case in saying, "a healthy Aaron Rodgers makes this throw 10/10 times." Really? Does anybody make that throw, healthy or otherwise, 100% of the time? Of course not. That's a very tough throw...move right, throw left, to a crosser where air cannot be put under the ball and the margin for error is minimal. We've seen a healthy Rodgers make much worse throws than that. Kruse concludes, "Still a pretty good toss, all things considered. Cobb couldn't finish". That's the right way to look at it. Not that Cobb is at fault; that would have been a very tough catch. Sometimes those very tough catches are made and sometimes they are not. This time, not.

Did Kruse break down every play in the game, I wonder? If so, and this is all he could come up with, the one unexplainable miss in the first clip makes for a pretty impressive performance.

It irritates me that we haven't seen more of this already.

The starting offensive line has actually been fine in pass protection. McCarthy might have to use another blocker this week if at least one of the backups has to play.

My guess - And that's all that it is - is that the NFL will start dialing it down a bit with the quarterback roughing penalties. They're not going to call a press conference and announce anything - that would be admitting they made a mistake, and that's not going to happen. What's more likely do is quietly swallow the flags that have been flying with such frequency every time a QB gets touched. They've gotten more blowback than they expected, and although they appear to be doubling down, I believe behind closed doors they're being forced to rethink this.

Or maybe they'll just foolishly dig in their heels.....Time will tell.

It seems the competition committee isn't happy about some of the roughing the passer calls but it's possible there won't be any changed to the rule this season.

I think the competition committee is taking the same approach they had when the rules with leading with the helmet were getting over called in the preseason. They come out with a statement saying they're not changing the rule but they're unhappy with how it's enforced, and then a few days later they announced how the rule was being changed... so let's see what happens in the next couple of days.

Yes - I doubt they will change the rule. That would be akin to an admission of a mistake, and the NFL is not big on that.

What I believe is far more likely is that they subtly start calling it differently. Blowback from the players and coaches is of no or little consequence to the NFL, but when it comes from the fans, they take notice.

Howdy Fellas,

I cam over from "Billievers.com" one of the Buffalo Bills message boards, it's not the biggest board, but it's definitely one of the best out there for Bills football. Smaller group of good people versus the masses if ya know what I mean.

I didn't come to troll, I just popped over to have some discussion about the upcoming game. I'll start off with a few comments about the things said in this thread and then leave it for you all to comment.

So first off, NONE of us saw the win coming against the Vikings haha, anyone who says otherwise is lying or is one of those homer types who predict a SB every year anyways. We were off to a historically terrible start in the first game, the first half of the second game was equally embarassing, and while we "arrested the fall" sorta speak in the second half against the Chargers, it was also noticeable that the Chargers had reverted into run clock mode and they were not trying to score like they were early in the game.

Right now Bills fans don't know what to make of our Offense or Defense. It was night and day last week from what we saw throughout preseason and the first 2 weeks of the regular season. We had high hopes for our defense after we added Star and Murphy in FA to fill holes along the D-Line, and Edmunds was a highly touted but very raw rookie that we were hoping would blossom into our version of Luke Kuechly (Panters Reference because our HC was the DC in Carolina). So we started to see the Defense actually play to the potential we always HOPED they had, but we never expected it to come out so impressively against the Vikings.

As for our Offense, our rookie QB was doing everything to help move the ball and energize the team. Our WRs are a heaping pile of GARBAGE though, they can't catch to save their lives, so thats a massive issue that isn't going to help us any. Our O-Line is terrible up the middle, and they are one of the worst run blocking lines in football right now. Plus LeSean McCoy is still nursing torn rib cartilage and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play.

My prediction is the Packers walk all over the Bills this week. You have some issues across your offensive line, but Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers. While he may be hampered by his injury, he finds holes and makes plays. On top of that his quick release is start contrast to Cousins who holds the ball too long, and doesn't protect the football. I don't see our defense having the same success against Rodgers who knows how to pick a team apart, and can get the ball out before the rush gets to him. If your WRs come to play this game could get out of hand quickly, because our offense simply is not build for a shoot out. Our points last week were largely thanks to field position/turnovers, which is HIGHLY unlikely we will get this time around. Literally every time the ball was fumbled it flopped to the Bills last week. That's just not something you can count on obviously.

So thats my take, I'm happy to give my perspective on things if you guys have questions. But lemme know what your thoughts are from the GB perspective.

FTR, I've always been a fan of the Packers, your storied history, a great blue collar fan base, you guys have been my brothers and my NFC team since we were kids growing up in the 80's and 90's. Nothing but love and respect for all of ya!

Go Bills and Go Pack.... just not this week ;-)
