WR Julian Fleming, Penn State
Now that's an intriguing prospect! He was highly ranked coming out of high school - the top-rated WR recruit in the US, and in at least one publication the #3 player overall (I think I also remember reading that he was the best high school receiver in Pennsylvania history).

Unfortunately, he picked Ohio State rather than Penn State, and when he got to Columbus he found himself competing with a receiving corps that (over his 4 years there) was stacked with 6 WRs who would eventually become 1st round picks. He also suffered several shoulder injuries, including one surgery, and a hamstring. More than anything else, these injuries made it difficult to work his way into a lineup that already had 2nd-year players like Marvin Harrison, Jr., Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Chris Olave.

He finally transferred back home to State College, and had better luck at Penn State than he'd had at Ohio State, but he's missed a lot of years of development and experience at DI level. He also did poorly at the combine, with terriible speed and agility scores leading to an RAS of something like 5.7.

So he's definitely a longshot, but.... at least Green Bay will give him a shot. If he can recapture some of his earlier excellence, he may be able to stick - but he has his work cut out for him

It used to be that later rounds and udfa players didn't count for much. But in today's world where there is such good training for everyone and we see small colleges play well and even bump off big colleges, and there is a lot of tape easily seen; I'm not sure that's totally true anymore. Our coaches should give these guys a level playing field. I don't think a drafted player should automatically be considered to make the team for that reason.

I had Dumas-Johnson at 250 to us. We actually got a guy I like at a real need position.
He's an interesting prospect. He had a breakout season at Georgia his sophomore year. He really appeared to be on track to becoming a top LB. Then injuries and as 1 scouting report that I read said, "putting on bad weight", kind of derailed things for him. He transferred to Kentucky last season and didn't have that great of a season.

Let's hope the Packers training and coaching staff can get him back on the same track he was on 3 years ago.

Dumas Johnson reminds me of similarities to McDuffie when he came into the NFL at 220 overall. Similarly higher performing Tackle machine with some minor size limitations. Both were not strong in Pass protection, but both had some ability to Blitz also.

I think Dumas Johnson would be great for ST coverage units and could fight for a bottom Roster spot. The Packers are stocked in the LB area but who knows. Maybe Dumas excels in Camp/PS.

Dumas is supremely more athletic than McDuffie on the field, if he had McDuffie's football IQ he'd have been a top100 prospect. He grows there he will be the reason McDuffie might just see 2025 of his deal...

Both have that nose for the ball though, but Dumas has the athletic explosion to possible be a better version for sure.

FWIW:

In addition to signing undrafted Georgia defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse, who had a draftable grade for many evaluators entering the 2025 draft, the Green Bay Packers are also signing Kentucky linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson, another defensive player who many believed would be drafted on Day 3 but went undrafted on Saturday.

The combination of Stackhouse and Dumas-Johnson as undrafted free agent signings quickly makes the Packers' 8-player draft class feel a lot like a 10-player class.

Wyoming linebacker Connor Shay will be at rookie minicamp next week with the Packers, source says. They were one of 10 teams in attendance at his Pro Day and he’s projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the CFL draft on Tuesday.

More than likely Shay would earn approx. $85-$90k/yr (Canadian Dollars), or around $65k USD. He'd make double that on someone's Practice Squad. Guessing Shay will give the NFL every chance & hopefully catch on with a team in the US.

Boy, when he wraps someone up, they stay wrapped up.

Hard to find much information on him. He appears to be 23, close to 24, and he didn't blossom into a starter until his senior year. His first 3 years, he couldn't get off special teams.

Might be one of those late bloomers who's already close to topping out. But he's sure worth taking a look!

Packers have invited another player to the rookie minicamp. That player is UDFA LB Xander Mueller, who played at Northwestern. He was the team captain and was considered to be the top-rated Northwestern prospect in this draft class.

At Northwestern's Pro Day, he clocked a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash and registered a 34.5" vertical jump. While those numbers aren't transcendent by any means, they're also pretty decent for someone his size (6'3", 232).

Mueller has also been invited to the Commanders rookie camp.
