I'm all for sitting AR on 3rd downs... pretty sure Kizer wouldn't throw 40 yds downfield consistently trying to "catch the D by surprise" but might actually look for an underneath receiver or back to get the 1st down. Any wonder why AR's 3rd down percentage is so pathetic?
Why is McCarthy sending the one receiver with which Rodgers has chemistry 40 yards down the field on 3rd down? Making a terrible play call and expecting Rodgers to make it work isn't acceptable. If you put Kizer in, you'd see more of what you did vs. Chicago. Not really worth a couple of check down passes that you all are so infatuated with.

I consider sitting Rodgers. Three reasons:
1) He's played poorly
2) The knee and likely a few other injuries
3) The O-line is pretty terrible right now and Rodgers has no willingness (or ability?) to avoid sacks.

On 3rd & 7 or 3rd & 5 do you see Brady, Brees, Wilson, Rivers, ...consistently throwing it down field 40 yards? All of these lesser, but apparently smarter QB's get the 1st down and buy their offense another set of downs.

Rodgers gets frustrated by the receivers, o-line or ??, then gets impatient and thinks he needs to score fast. Leads to A LOT of stalled drives. Not saying he should become Alex Smith and live/die with the 3 yard check-down but there's nothing wrong with getting 8-10 yds. on 3rd & 7.

THAT is exactly why McCarthy will be getting fired next month. It's MM's job to COACH, not AR's. Pretty sure most of the bone-head 3rd down bombs are AR's decision, but McCarthy has done nothing to reign him in. Also pretty sure Aaron Jones' limited touches earlier this season are because AR has been given full-reign on checking-0ut of run plays to throw the ball.

Rodgers is the best QB in the league, but his decision making stalls A LOT of drives and MM allows it.
I totally disagree with your asinine statement you can clearly see McCarthy soeant know how to scheme and his playcalling abilities are horrible and his decision majing skills are severely lacking to the point of mental retardation

Your disagreement does not directly rebutt his points... it’s simply an ad hominem attack on Pkrjones, and McCarthy.

This last reason is maybe the only reason I'd consider this because we cannot afford to have a career ending injury to Rodgers. But the problem is I feel if you bench him, you risk putting him at odds with our front office or aka people who will still be here even if MM is gone at the end of this season. Plus, I'd like to think you try and keep these players still trying to be at their best because ... Well I don't really think the transition to a new HC will be as smooth if he sees too many players from this current roster not playing with heart as I suspect the case would be if Kizer were playing.

Now the way I see it, I would be curious to see if Kizer is enough of an improvement over Hundley to warrant keeping him around as a backup in the future. Not a starter, but a backup who could play sort of a Jon Kitna or Shaun Hill kind of role on the team if needed. But right now, I just don't see any good thing that would come out of this kind of move.

This is absolutely true. I'm at the point where I dread watching the games due to the awful coaching. It's comically bad, as if McCarthy reads all of the things people are slamming him for and gets even worse at them.

I think if I were to question someone's intelligence, I would learn to spell and gain a rudimentary understanding of punctuation. At least if your IQ appeared to be over 80 then people may take your 'analysis' seriously instead of wondering if your parents were first or second cousins.

No. Not unless we have a comfortable lead going into 4th quarter. Lots being said about Rodgers vs rookie WRs, so use this to run different kinds of plays and get them on same wavelength.

But Vikes still have Pats, Hawks and Bears to play and if they lose all 3, the playoff picture would look vastly different. Dolphins ain't easy either.

No idea who's fault it is. MM maybe calling bad plays or AR may be audibling into bad calls. I have a hard time believing either of them are at fault but one of them must be.

That's ridiculous. Rodgers has nothing to prove.
He needs to prove the past two months of bad throws and missed reads are just an aberration and not the new norm. Frankly, he hasn't been great since 2016. It only shows anymore in spurts of 1 or 2 quarters at a time. He needs to show he can go back to being a leader for all the young pups instead of berating them and looking all mopey when the going gets tough.

So at the end of the year if AR says "Sorry about the bad year, but my knee was bothering me a lot more than I wanted to admit to or acknowledge for fear of giving away my competitive advantage, are you", are buying it?

nope...because things could have been done differently, if that were the case, and weren't. his street-balling would have been curtailed, a brace would've been worn, things would have looked more traditional WCO. none of that happened.

Playoffs are not going to happen anymore. I cant help but imagining what would've happened if we did not have that unlucky call vs the Vikes, Crosby did not have an all time worst day and Ty would not have been as stubborn..

That being said, this team does not have the talent for a deep play off run anyway, let alone a SB appearance. While I dont like to bench Arod when there is still some possibility to get in, we should strongly consider it if we are out. And even if we are out, assuming that his knee has (close to) completely healed, I am all for keeping him in and allowing him to develop some chemistry with his young WRs without the pressure of winning out. Plus I dont see MM benching Aaron. For us that would only mean giving up on the season, whereas for him that would essentially mean he gave up on his time in GB.
