After this season it's hard not to think the nfl is rigged. The patriots 14 point comeback in the AFC divisional, 10 point comeback in Super Bowl and Seahawks 16 point come back in NFC championship (thank you clay Matthews).
IMO just the opposite is true. It's very hard to think the NFL is rigged and here's why: The burden of proof is on those who allege it is rigged. And the central element of that proof has to be motive: What would motivate those involved with rigging the playoffs (and/or regular season) to result in the Patriots winning another championship? Another poster no longer posting on this site doubled down on the ridiculous notion that there is a vast conspiracy involving Goodell, the officials, and several, if not all of the players. BTW, that poster "guaranteed" that this year the season was rigged to insure Peyton Manning would lead the Broncos to the title.

So you'll risk killing the goose that lays the golden eggs- to the tune of $11B a year practically by just showing up- to rig a game? That would qualify as a definition of insanity.

I kinda wish they had lost on Sunday now. Too many people seem to be declaring Brady the Greatest QB Ever this week. Even though 2 of his SB wins were incredibly lucky (Tuck Rule, and Worst Call in SB History). Also the Pats won every SB by 4 points or less, so Brady could easily be 0-6 in Super Bowls.

One could also make the argument that Brady's 2 SB losses were attributed to "luck" (Tyree & Manningham catches). In both games, TB12 gave his team a late 4th qtr lead only to see it disappear due (in part) to "lucky catches/plays".

Yes, TB is THAT close to having 6 SB wins! WOW!!

He almost lost this one to a lucky catch too. It's strange how many great/lucky/outstanding/unlikely/unbelievable catches have happened for the opposing teams at the end of the game.

Can the mods put grey hairs on threads that haven't been active in more than a month, especially when people seek them out and respond like it's active?

Maybe this is the curse?

Heck, five quick responses to any thread during the dead time is a pretty good showing.

There are many Raider fans who swear the immaculate reception bounced off the ground first.

There is another team that has "the hop". A ref marked the position with his foot, lost his balance, hoped 6 inches right, and marked the ball there. They missed the first down by an inch - if the ref had not hopped, they would have had it.

The Raiders also have the tuck rule.

We have Immaculate Interception.

The Calvin Johnson TD. I think he made the catch and purposely set the ball on the ground.

I think every team has a few of these in their history of where they feel they got absolutely screwed. Hopefully it all evens out in the end. Or, better yet, the Packers end up on the winning edge.
