Well said —-whoever J Hawk is needs to find a new forum for his know it all attitude. I don’t like anyone who enjoys belittling solid long existing Packer fans. Anyone who thinks they know it all should be out there playing themselves. This is just an honest discussion of different ideas and the defense has been bad for YEARS!
Years is a good description. Even in 2010 with all our injuries we just scraped up enough defense to win the SB. We did have some defensive playmakers like Woodson but by and large no one feared our defenses. You really have to go back to the Reggie White and Leroy Butler years when we did have a strong D.

Course you are allowed to make your opinion known, this is a free country. However you sound extremely silly if you question the "want to" of HOF or elite athletes like they don't want to win MORE THAN YOU DO.

Or hey you can be armchair psychologists/conspiracy theorist and every player on this team doesn't want to win and are just collecting a paycheck and will soon be out of this league after the disappointment they'll put on tape all year.
I don't think questioning Rodgers' "want to" sounds silly at all. He stated that he had nothing more to prove, and that for a lot of the off season he didn't know if he wanted to play football anymore. I have no doubt he wants to win. But I'm sure being the guy who makes or breaks the season takes a lot out of you.

If he starts thinking this years team isn't good enough to win the SB, and he doesn't have that chip on his shoulder driving him to prove his doubters wrong, I think he loses that edge that makes him that elite QB.

If he's with another team next year, that chip is back and he has something to prove again. That the Packers made a mistake not committing to him for more years.

T. Bridgewater 26/342482022

What's the point of bringing up Bridgewater having better numbers than Rodgers in a single game???

I`ve said it for the same length of time, He should be MADE to attend practice, it`s what he gets paid for.....it`s his job.

Rodgers has attended every single practice since reporting for camp. In the past he has been in Green Bay from the start for OTAs every single season.

Agreed. Yesterday's performance as a team excepting when Hundley and Tolzien took the field was the worst I have seen from a Packer team since McCarthy's inaugural season or even Sherman's last one. And that is a long time ago.

Since MLF took over the team in 2019 the Packers have lost three games by at least 28 points.

The truth is he's lost a lot of his touch and confidence, particularly on tight throws, since he shattered his clavicle.

The truth is Rodgers performed at an MVP level in 2020 throwing for 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions. There's no doubt he had a terrible game against the Saints on Sunday but I fully expect him to bounce back from it.

The 2010 Packers defense was mostly responsible for the team beating the Eagles and Bears in the playoffs.

I'm sorry. The actual truth is it's not 2020. It's 2021 and the only thing on his mind is playing somewhere else. After the complete **** he put on the field yesterday how can you blindly trust the guy to give everything he has to win? That second interception was the kind of **** you would have expected from John Hadl.

Rodgers has earned the benefit of the doubt based on his performance since becoming the starter in 2008. He has had bad games before, albeit only a few in his career, from which he rebounded in a strong fashion. Therefore I'm confident he will play at an elite level again.

While there's a small chance that won't happen I wonder if you will be eating crow if he puts up elite numbers once again or disappear from the forum in a heartbeat.

FALSE. Did you not pay attention to the **** with Rodgers this summer? He tried everything he could be get himself traded. Do you think just because he's back for another year that he's "all in" on winning? You think he's not still bitter for whatever dumb reason? Can a bitter man be his best for the team he wants to ditch? He's mentally checked-out. It was clear as day on Sunday. Either that, or he just hit the age wall all at once. Who knows? It happens. Maybe he sits on the bench daydreaming about being on Jeopardy all game long. Either way, the guy who wore #12 yesterday... I'd never seen that guy before. It would be extremely silly and naive to think a bitter, petty, disgruntled QB will play his best week in and week out. Playing QB takes dedication and focus. He has neither this year.

And you think he's going to do that for a team he hates? Seriously? At best he's conflicted. At worst, he honestly doesn't give a shyte.

The most troubling thing from Rodgers at the Saints game for me wasn't his bad decisions or lack of production - it was the fact mood wise I felt as if I was watching Jay Cutler QB the Packers.

Still has great touch on the ball along with placement, still operates that 2 min drill at an elite level. Unfortunately the timing was off both on the WRs and the oline needs time to gel

^this is an intelligent post by a reasonable fan after 1game. I suggest you try it
The offensive line actually played pretty well...Rodgers held on to the ball longer than any QB in week 1...

i'm not sure we watched the same game. evading the rush doesn't mean he's just holding on to the ball. Our receivers were not getting open, I think Lazard runs the wrong routes half the time and if the defense moves you off your spot before you can deliver a timed throw and you must buy time to then try to adlib, that's not a positive for the Oline because the QB held the ball longer. Our oline wasn't good and at times they were terrible, Ie that first INT.

Naw. While i appreciate the protective sentiment, We are all looking for something positive in general and got a weird off-season and sloppy start. We all react differently and this historically horrific game just brought out the worst in many of us (including myself). Top that with 18 months of a worldwide pandemic and severe layoffs, protests snd the like? It’s amazing we haven’t all choked each other right down to the floor. ;)
We all need to just give one another a little compassion. But next year I’ll smooth choke someone.. so get it out of your system now! :roflmao:

Amen
IDC what any new reports say. This Offense still has enough talent to finish top 5 if Rodgers has an average season. If you do the math on that, we don’t need a top 5 type D. We can remain very competitive with a top 15 Defense or whatever. I wouldn’t be surprised if GB makes a move before trade deadline to grab a veteran Lineman either O or D depending on which is struggling. We also get our best OL back in 5 weeks and that makes a tremendous difference.

Even from how we started, the D was holding Kamara ok early on. It was our Offense who sputtered and left the D on the field all of the first half. Conditioning in 95 degrees is paramount. Plus 1 bad call cost us at minimum 7 points imo. I think you’ll see a bounce back game either this Monday or next weekend.

It feels good to get the complaining out of the way, but by no means is this team throwing in the towel (I know you didn’t say that I’m just reiterating) Winning fixes everything real fast. 1 week at a time let’s just get a Win. I’d much rather start slow than finish slow.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face! It has been a REALLY tough past year for all of us. Everyone needs something to feel good about again and Sunday’s game didn’t help. Rodgers had a right to air his grievances with the organization but now it’s time to put on your big boy pants and do your job. And this is to Hawk —- there is plenty of blame to go around with a NFL team or organization. It isn’t just the coaches or the organization or the fans. No one likes to lose. Just remember that there would be no football without the fans and insulting them is not the way to go. And don’t worry don’t let the door hit me in my crack on the way out- I am happy to take a break until so called Packer fans can be a little more respectful to others. Barb

I'm respectful to everyone, until they act like they don't deserve any and I give them a little taste of what it's like to be in a room with them. You speak of respect, make sure you're practicing it as well.

Man, there was a lot to take in there. Seems the overall sentiment is close to anger. There is no doubt that Rodgers performance was horrible and probably close to his worst game he has ever played. Rodgers really only gave a couple of interviews this last summer and most everything else was the media reporting daily on the rift between him and the front office. I was not really happy with the way he handled that. He could have been more specific and ended the whole debate. I just don't think he gives a rip what they say or what people think. I'm done defending his personality and I just like to watch the games. So, again, his performance was probably the worst that I can remember. His decision making, which includes his hair, was overall poor. With all that said, I do think he is a pro and not one that is trying to sabotage the team at all. I don't think he liked his performance and said so after the game. He is a competitor and I believe he does not want to just trot out there and go through the motions of one more year. I'm on the side that it was week one and he will bounce back. Looking at the history of his play I think he will be motivated to show his true level of play.

While I completely agree there is absolutely no way he tried to sabotage the team in week 1. I think there is potential that his behavior over the summer, could have changed the locker room dynamic a bit. Really, the offense should have had a seamless transition from last season to week 1. That team did nothing to show they were a unit. I give the defense a pass, as it was a brand new scheme (maybe? coach for sure). But the offense really should have picked up where they left off. Week 2 will be telling here.

Wrong. He cleared stated the reasoning behind his dissatisfaction with his employers and boss and made it known TO THEM the issues. Open your ears next time, or become more knowledgeable about the topic since you clearly missed his press conference
