Romo's good though I liked him better when he first started than now. When he started out, he did a lot of playing the QB---pre-sanp he'd read the defense, identify vulnerabilities or mismatches, and call the play. He does less of that now. I'd surmise the network has coached him away from that as being too wonky for the average fan.
I waw one game this year with Charles Davis. He's very detailed and talks about things that matter. He doesn't bring excess emotion to the proceedings which I suppose makes him forgettable for a lot of fans.
I really dislike Collinsworth. He's good breaking down a replay and the occasional pre-snap read, but when analyzing spontanously he gets a lot of stuff wrong. And he doesn't modulate emotion. EVERYTHING is is a big deal with him. Lulls are a natural part of football games. Collinsworth can turn a second quarter 3-and-out into some game changing, momentum shifting event with the same emotion as a big play.
