Regardless of what the numbers say, I don't think he's been particularly effective for us, but if you're going to hand out that contract you better have some belief in the guy. So I think they believe he has more to offer and will give him that 2nd year to prove it before cutting.

He does make a good to better WR but his blocking is attrocious. That is what we found out and tried to teach him blocking techniques.

I doubt they dump and sign another FA TE, but maybe. That would still leave Tonyan, FA TE and then? we're not going into the season with 2 TE's on the Roster.

He always has a Saragusa, Ngota, and other huge lineman that protect the linebackers along with rushers on the outside that can get to the QB, but mostly players who show up every week instead of being banged up with pulled hamstrings and ankle injuries.

When Howard would pick the most whackiest one and say, "I see Bob Uecker is here." This went on for a couple of years. Finally, one game there was a guy in a gorilla costume and howard chipped in and the guy took off the top of the suit and it was Uecker.
