With both Pennel and Goodson coming back from their suspensions, it will be interesting to see what roster moves the Packers make this week. Couple that with what I perceive to be a need for another RB, especially if Lacy's injury turns into something. Even if Lacy is ok to go, Starks has not looked good so far this season. Of course if we find another Punter, that will be an even up cut and sign.

My guess would be Brian Price is cut and PS'd to make room for Pennel. Murphy or Ringo seem like the next weakest links to do the same with, if Goodson is even kept. At 5 weeks into the season, could the Packers safely slide Callahan to the PS?

Thoughts?

I agree that Price will most likely be released to make room for Pennel on the active roster. I'm not convinced the Packers will hold on to Goodson as he struggles playing cornerback but that might depend on Shields' and Randall's health.

I agree, prior to the injuries to Shields and Randall, Goodson is all but gone. While Goodson has his issues, I'm just a bit nervous about our depth and experience at CB right now. I have said it before, but I don't think you can count on Shields to finish the season, with the PS being bare of a CB, having a 3rd year guy like Goodson might be necessary insurance.

Where's that Crockett RB guy from last year? Bring him back and throw Starks outta here, he's outlived his usefulness.

Agree on Price to PS. Doubt Goodson goes with the injuries popping-up at CB (on more than a handful of teams). Really don't want to expose Callahan to other teams as some (Cleveland, Bears, Miami, Chargers, 49'ers, Saints) are already thinking about next season AND need a(nother?) quality QB!

- My guess it'll be Price & Ringo getting waived to make room.
- Hoping TT swings a trade involving Adams (after "showcasing" him against a horrid Giants defensive backfield) eliminating having 7 WR's active on game day.
- IF a RB is needed would probably call-up Don Jackson from PS. Fast, has had 5 months to learn the system, hopefully knows how to pick-up blitzes a bit.
- NEED a new punter... M. Scifres, Mortell, or Masthay... please!! Need to be able to count on 40+ yd. punts when standing inside our own 15 yd. line. smh

Adams isn't going anywhere as the Packers won't trade their third best receiver.

I don't know the extent of Banjo's injury last night but Goodson might be the guy that takes his place if he can't play for a while.

Can I click agree more than once. Adams had a very good night last night. If Janis would have done that people would be talking about him making the pro bowl

It would spark another 35 pages of posts on his thread. I'm surprised his hide 'n seek move last night didn't cause keyboard diarrhea here.

With short term injuries stacking up, not sure keeping 7 WRs are feasible. I'm thinking Abby could be cut.

Not so sure it wouldn't be Janis before Abby, if the Packers would want to get down to 6 WR's. Janis's value to the team was his special teams play. With or without his club, Janis has virtually been invisible all season, except for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty last night.

Especially if Goodson is kept he plays gunner as well

Bring Mortell back and give someone else a chance to suck it up. We should at least try something.

That penalty was absurd. Ed pulled that out of his ***. The direct line he wanted him to take was through McAdoo.

Would like to agree with you, but frankly I can't. If necessary Janis should have stopped and run back in bounds.. instead he ran most of the way down the field while still out if bounds.

While one might disagree with the rule, I think the call was correct against Janis. There is a difference between playing smart football and not so smart, I think the route Janis has been on, has already been pretty well established.

It was definitely a penalty, he ran almost directly out of bounds at the snap and never attempted to come back in until pretty much he was where the ball went out of bounds.

One of the gunners and the guy that blocks the gunners looks horrendous....hawkins maybe? Goodson, as bad as he is as a DB, is pretty good at ST in that role. He stays IMO.

I think it's possible Abbrederis is the one being cut if the Packers decide to keep only six receivers on the active roster. Lately he has been the only one not getting any snaps on offense.

A rather profound statement regarding the sorry state of the current Packer receiving corps.

It's true the receiving corps has struggled for parts of this season but getting rid of Adams for sure wouldn't improve their performance.

When do the Packers have to declare what they are doing in regards to Pennel and Goodson?

Maybe TT is trying to work out a trade with Cleveland for Callahan? :D

"The Packers were granted one-week exemptions for both DE Mike Pennel and CB Demetri Goodson, who are eligible to come off suspension this week. They could wait until 3 PM CT next Monday to activate them."
