with all the starters our D can be respectable. But we're thin everywhere and it hurts. the past 2 games i didn't even know half the people on the backend were on the team. Will they be better with experience? I don't know. Up front seems to be up and down

I'm not at all thrilled with Pettine myself, but to be fair I saw something a few days ago I don't remember where, that analyzed that he had tried pretty much everything, different looks and fronts, blitzes, and more. Nothing worked. Maybe it's time to cast as hard a look at the players.

Pettine's biggest shortcoming this season, whether it's fair or not, is getting players to play up to their capacity. It's not schematic.

I'm starting to wonder about the capacity of the players. Lots of draft capital and money spent, not a lot to show for it.
The Smiths have been flops so far this year, not getting much of anything from Gary and Savage, king is up and down when he manages to get on the field.
Overall, the defense can't cover, can't tackle, can't rush the passer, and can't stop the run or get turnovers. Worst of all, they're soft.
All of these guys are in their second or third year in this scheme and with Pettine.
There are no more excuses. It's looking to me like the talent was overestimated

When they had injuries. Right now the are much better than the week 3 team we faced.

Well, so did we in that game. Both of us were down our number one WR, and all in all it was about dead even in matchup.

Now, had we played them last Sunday instead of week 3, sure we very well could have lost the way their defense was playing. But should we face them again in the playoffs, that's a long way off and we could get more of our guys back by then too.

By that same token though, TB got a reminder that they shouldn't be planning their SB itinerary yet, and Seattle's got a bad pass defense.

The team I'm kinda being a bit wary of right now is the Rams because when their DL is on its game and Goff is on target, they can be pretty dangerous.

Yeah, we definitely have a legit shot at getting to the Super bowl this year. I'd call it one of us, Tampa, New Orleans or Seattle. The Rams are definitely a possibility, but there's just something about them that I put them a half shade behind the group above.
Everybody has their flaws, but when I add it up this comes out wide open.
Probably the biggest determining factor will be the old x factor- injuries.

The Rams have four wins against teams from the dreadful NFC East but are 1-3 against other opponents.

With them still having to play the Seahawks and Cardinals twice I don't even see them making the playoffs.

Seattle's not going anywhere with that defense. Wilson may be able to carry them through the regular season but I don't see them going any further than the divisional round. Will Brees and Brady wear down down the stretch like they have the past couple seasons? I wouldn't sleep on the Rams.

A notable stat was that Kamara touched the ball the fewest times all season last night. I think that was because they noticed the linebackers giving a lot of attention to him. So use him as a decoy. Something LaFleur should have noticed about Jones in the Tampa game.
You can’t use him as a decoy tho when Rodgers has only Adams and him that he trusts. Other teams have better receivers Lazard is okay but everyone else sucks

Brees and Brady will both keep it together plus the bucs schedule is pathetic moving forward Don’t forget that Russell Wilson has a horseshoe so far up his *** that they will be sticking around.. the cardinals are good too they are the one team I don’t wanna play in the playoffs because I think Kyler Murray would have a better game than kap did for the 49ers years back...

except they aren't.

Both teams at full strength, I'd expect a game similar to what I saw last year in the playoffs.

Their defense is on track to allow the most yards in the history of the NFL by something like 1000 yards.

I know you’ve got this whole “I’m objective because I always say the Packers suck” thing going on, but it’s not very believable.

If he is not going anywhere; you can't continue to go to him. And we better start looking at other players to come through. And I think at times that we do. Tonyan, Sternberger, Ervin (could use a two back set once in awhile). We should look for Shepherd and Taylor more too. MVS is tough. If he keeps dropping first down balls; he is too much of a liability. EQS??? I don't know why we just don't try w/o either of the two. The other guys catch the ball.

Scantling played more snaps last week than Adams. He has shown he must be accounted for or a big play could happen at any moment. He’s certainly got his faults but he definitely gets attention because of his long speed. He keeps one safety tied to his side of the field. That’s very useful for plays going to the opposite side.

I want him to do good but he has to hang on to the ball. imo

Agree. A higher target/reception ratio would be most welcome. I don’t know where his ratio currently ranks amongst his peers across the league but we’ve all seen it could certainly be higher. The good news is his yards per catch is good and he (nor any of the other receivers) have fumbled the ball.

It's mind-boggling that some Packers fans want Rodgers to target other receivers like Shepherd and Taylor just for the sake of spreading the ball around instead of fully taking advantage of having one of the best in the game in Adams.

Be honest. You haven't watched Seattle play defense this year have you?

While there are rumors the Seahawks have been trying to play defense nobody has actually seen them do it this season.

I think it makes sense to target other players. There will come a game when Davante won't be getting open. We need to use everyone to go all the way. imo. That does not mean Davante won't be targeted much more than anyone else. Spreading the ball around serves Adams also. Anyway, my comment was more related to Aaron Jones. If he is not going anywhere because the defense is keying on him; we should change the game plan midstream.

I'm fine with Rodgers targeting other receivers when Adams is covered but there's no reason for him to look any other way just for the sake of spreading the ball.

If an opponent is capable of containing Adams like the Bucs did the offense is in trouble as there's no other receiver on the roster capable of picking up the slack.

I believe that if an opponent is trying to take away both Adams and Jones; then there is an in game adjustment to be made and that it can be made.

If an opponent is capable of limiting the impact of both Adams and Jones I'm concerned the offense would struggle mightily no matter the adjustments made during the game.

I think it`s more about spreading it around and not becoming predictable to the opponents. imho
