ETA: league rules have something to say about open roster spots and practice squad roster. You have like 2 or 3 games allowed to have an open slot before some type of concern kicks in.

When I saw they activated him, I was sure he was playing. I was surprised to find out he was not on the game day roster. Though we could have used a couple DT's and real linebackers last night more than anything.

I am guessing it has to do with how he is paid and maybe his future status?

I'm still wondering why Ryan Grant was signed to a one year deal and always a healthy scratch? Was he just insurance or did he just never wrap his head around the Packers playbook? I guess we will know if they resign him or just let him walk in Free Agency.

In my opinion Greene not being up to speed after missing most of the season was the only reason for him not being active vs. the Niners.
