Love it !!!! You guys likely know I am a fan!!

Senior Bowl guy / three year starter at LT / High RAS / high character

He will be a starter next year at latest and allows us to let Rhyan or Walker or both walk more likely.

Belton is a three-year starting left tackle who had a strong Senior Bowl. He's a massive mauler with the strength to move defenders off the ball, and he blocks relentlessly until the whistle in the run game. Belton also has some upside as a pass blocker because he's quick enough to meet speed rushers and strong enough to anchor if his feet are set. He looks to help on the line and can annihilate defenders with a powerful punch when no one comes to him. -- Steve Muench

This pick IMO just made Morgan our RG of present and future. Belton is a tackle prospect more than guard but he easily can play guard. They could let him and Morgan compete at both spots

I just told my wife the same thing. They announced him as a OT, which means that's what they intend starting out. Rasheed Walker's days seem numbered, maybe a trade piece now.

If Walker plays good all year and he signs a big contract; would we have gotten any more for him in a trade?

Unless Belton doesn't pan out, looks like Walker may not get a second contract. And if Morgan goes to guard, Ryhan will really need to have a great season to get a second contract. Lots of moving pieces and intense competition on the O line.
The two best teams in the NFC have the two best offensive lines. IMO, it's a great pick.

Seemed obvious to me I was talking about with another team and what comp pick it would be. I guess that also depends if we gain players though

I liked Trapilo over Belton. Had Belton as a 3rd rounder. I do agree with the position in the 2nd round. I am going to go out on a limb here and state that the F.O. knows a bit more than I do. GPG.

The Tackle room is definitely getting crowded, and that's a good thing. We can't sign all these guys with contracts coming up.

I think they went with Belton over Trapilo because Ozzy is more RT, and that's definitely Tom's spot, and this tells me Walker has had 2 guys drafted high at his position in two years.

Trapilo is tackle only (he’s over 6’8”).

Belton showed out at both tackle and guard at the Sr Bowl.

He gives them options. And he’s a better run blocker.

It seems to me that the Packers are learning the lesson of the most successful teams in the league. My main theme is you need to win in the pits. You need to dominate on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Free agency and the draft the team seems to be focused on getting bigger stronger meaner and More physical. I thought that go with Amos at defensive back but I like this pic. This kid is going to be a good one, and again it's about getting bigger meaner and More physical.

At least we won't lose playoff games because we don't even have one. Right or left. And I don't know what we have with Mogan. This guy really looks like a left tackle imho

I didn’t read a lot of the Sr Bowl practice reports back in Feb, but Belton seems to have been pretty dominant from what I’m seeing now. No wonder Vrable recommended him.
