The clock management of the end makes me wonder about MLF whether or not he is in elite coach
It’s actually been one of just several areas of weakness for Matt imo. When a casual fan like me can scream TO

Should’ve called a TO after the Reed 3 yard catch at :49 seconds. It’s 3rd down and you’re shy of FG range worst case.

Man we're just physically weak. I'm so tired of nine times out of tendency and running back to three or four yards at their contact on us

If we can get a Long 7 minute click eating drive and score 7? It’d be hard for Seattle not to abandon the Run
Defense has given up a few plays, but they have come up with the stops when they needed to. Time for a nice 7 minute drive and points to take their will away.
exactly what I was typing!! lol

What's with Matt's being bad at clock management
My personal suspicion is that it's yet another example of why he needs to turn over in-game playcalling responsiblities to someone else. I think he's just trying to do too many things in that 25-40 second period of time. Some coaches are able to do that, but he doesn't seem to be one of them.

There's no shame in it. He's exceptional at play design, but that skill is wasted if the right plays aren't being run at the right time.

I put some of this on Love, though. He's been around long enough that he should have been able to sense how the clock was developing and take charge of the situation. That's what a smart veteran would be able to do, and it's the sort of thing we need to be able to expect from him.
